fall chrysanthemum card!

hello!
today I have this beautiful, fall themed card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
I was inspired to make this card by my bestie who LOVES chrysanthemums and displaying them on her porch this time of year!

so pretty!
I stamped the image from the Chrysanthemum Stamp Set 3 times and colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! I used pinks and oranges and apricots and purples!
then I die cut them out. I fussy cut out 2 of the images to separate the flowers so I could create these fun bouquets on either side of the banner!

for the banner, I heat embossed the sentiment from Heartfelt Fall in white onto some light beige cardstock.  then I die cut it out with the Banner Trio Die Set. once it was die cut, I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to ink blend a little around the edges.

I die cut out the card front, also from a light beige, using the Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. then I used the Falling Leaves Stencil and some Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink to add the tone on tone fall background! LOVE that tiny detail!

this card is one of my favorites, and I hope it made you smile, too!

Newton's Nook Designs Autumn Release - Autumn Apples + coordinating dies

it's day 3 of Newton's Nook Designs' August release and it may be my favorite day so far!

all of these new products are so fun! 

I colored image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

then I used the Essential Alphabet dies to enhance the sentiment by die cutting out a letter per apple!

I die cut out the panel with the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set and then used Distress Oxides in Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina! it really helps the apples pop!
I heat embossed part of the sentiment pun onto the last apple at the end.

the card base was then stamped all over with the other apple images from the set in a light grey ink! and I heat embossed the rest of the sentiment in white onto some strips of black cardstock.

slimline summertime card!

hello friends!
today I have a FUN and beachy card up on the Lawn Fawn blog! and guess what? there's a super fun bonus: I made a video! you can check it out on the Lawn Fawn blog, or on my youtube channel here!

shall we get into it?

I had a blast making this card! lots of coloring, and lots of mixed media!

All of the images were stamped and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I colored all of the cats from Meow You Doin' the same way, and added tiger stripes to them, too! Just for fun! the rest of the images are either from Pool Party, On the Beach or Life is Good!
I also added details with a white gel pen to all of the images! I especially love doing that for the blushing cheeks and inflatable beach toys! All of the images were die cut out with their coordinating dies, and some of the images were popped up with foam tape for dimension.

For the background, I used Yupo paper and Alcohol Inks in Pistachio, Patina, Pool, Sail Boat Blue and Indigo for the ocean part. For the sandy shore, I used the Butterscotch and Dandelion alcohol ink colors! Once they were all dry, I used the Stitched Hillside Borders to die cut out the 3 sandy shore hills, and the Stitched Wave Borders for the ocean! I also die cut out a layer of Vellum for the ocean, too. I splattered some white acrylic ink on top of the sea shore to look more like grains of sand! So fun!
all of the layers were also cut with the Scalloped Slimline with Hearts: Portrait die set!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some Black Licorice Cardstock and then fussy cut out around it.
I attached it to the card with foam tape so it would have dimension up there at the top!

Newton's Nook Designs & Therm O Web Collaboration Week 2022!

I made two cards for this fun occasion!

my first card uses foil and flock along with the Pineapple Stencil Set!
for the background, I used 2 different yellow alcohol inks - LOVE that fresh summery feel!

I used the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo through the first layer of the stencil, and then used my new favorite foil - OPAL!! love how that looks for the pineapples! once that was all dry and foiled, I used the same gel with the second layer of the stencil - then I used Enchanted Rose Foil and Pink Carnation Flock for the tops! so fun!

I used the Essential Alphabet Dies to accentuate part of the sentiment! part of some pinks and purples in alcohol inks are popped through! so summery!

lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment rest of the sentiment from Tropical Fringe stamp set!

my second card also uses Opal Foil, Enchanted Rose Foil as well the Wild Cherry Foil and Spring Green Foil!

so fun! and the colors of the foil pop!
I used the same gel onto some white cardstock, then used the foil sheets! once it was all transfered, I die cut out the various shapes with the Hibiscus Die Set!

I popped up the flowers with foam tape to add some dimension! but first I used the Tropical Leaves stencil and white embossing paste to add texture!

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Seashell Roundabout stamp set onto black cardstock, then used the Banner Trio die set to die cut it out!

my first card uses lots of die cutting, foil and flock!

I die cut out a bunch of leaves using the Beautiful Leaves Die Set and Flower Trio Die Set
then I used the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo and once it was dry, I added the greens and teals in flock and foil below, to add texture and shine!

for the sentiment, I heat embossed the phrase from Floral Roundabout Stamp Set

the background of the card is a light grey cardstock and I used some white embossing paste and the Hardwood Stencil to add a wood-y texture


for my second card, I made a slimline card with the Deco Foil Kraft Slimline Toner Card Fronts - Chic Chevron!

I used the Deco Foil Transfer Sheets - Rainbow and my laminator to make the pretty rainbow background!
then I die cut some puffy clouds using the Sky Scene Builder Die Set from white cardstock!
I die cut the whole panel using the Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set and then added some texture with white embossing paste and the Cascading Stars Stencil

then I heat embossed the sentiment from Floral Roundabout Stamp Set onto some vellum that was die cut using the Banner Trio Die Set

I also used some Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink to ink blend the edge of the card and then splattered some water and white acrylic ink on top!
I just love this sparkly, shiny rainbow card! I was totally channeling my Lisa Frank! ha!

for my card, I used the super cute and winter-magic-y Nutcracker Squeak stamp set!

I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, then I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! I think the mice are just soooo sweet and the Nutcracker is one of my favorite things about the holiday season!

next, I die cut out the background with both the Slimline Frames & Portholes and Slimline Frames & Windows die sets! I used the squares and ink blended them with Evergreen Bough, Cracked Pistachio and a tiny bit of Mermaid Lagoon to darken the top in Distress Oxide Inks!
then I attached them evenly across the scalloped panel, and then used the Snowfall Stencil and some glittery embossing paste to add to the magic and whimsy!

then I placed the Music Stencil on my card base and used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to add some subtle texture to the background.

then I heat embossed the sentiment in black onto vellum and fussy cut out around it.

magical holiday wishes, coming to you!

hello and happy Wednesday!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

for the current challenge, we're all about holiday critters, and what's better than a magical sleigh pulled by a team of christmas unicorns?

I looooove this card!
the slimline format is the BEST way to show this scene off! I used the Large Slimline with Sliders die set for my background!

I started by using Distress Inks in Black Soot, Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral and Dried Marigold to ink blend the background! then I splattered on some water and white acrylic paint! once it was dry, I used the perfect Snowflake Trio Stencil to add some texture to the background with white embossing paste!

I stamped the unicorns from Unicorn Picnic, A Little Sparkle and Winter Unicorn and the sleigh and santa's bag from Ho-Ho-Holidays! I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out!
I also added foam tape to all of the unicorns so they're popped up!

lastly, I used the Puffy Cloud Borders and die cut out some clouds from white cardstock and vellum!
and that's my card!

Newton's Nook Designs Winter Release - Newton’s Snowman + coordinating die and Happy New Year Stamp Set

well, we made it!! it's day 4 of Newton's Nook Designs' October release!

 

and as you can tell, it's all about that winter wonderland! yay!

oh how I love all of these new stamps, stencils and dies!! just wait until you see it all! but in the mean time, check out what we're working with today: Newton’s Snowman + coordinating die and Happy New Year Stamp Set.

my first card uses the mini Happy New Year stamp set!

it's so fun, right? I used the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set for the base of my card. then I used the Balloon Shaker Die Set to die cut out 2 vellum and 1 white cardstock balloon! I used Distress Inks to add color to the balloons! I looooove vellum balloons! 

then I heat embossed the image onto the yellow balloon and attached them to the card!

lastly, I used some sprakly embossing paste and the Cascading Stars Stencil to add a little more shine and sparkle to the celebratory card!!

my next card uses the new Newton's Snowman set, and I am in love with that image!



so fun!
I used the Sky Borders Die Set to create some bumpy, fluffy snow for this scene!

and for the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio. then I splattered some water and white acrylic paint on top! then once it was all dry, I used the Sunscape stencil and some more of the sparkly embossing paste on top! ooooooo! lol!

I colored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut it out with the coordinating die! I also used the Speech Bubbles Die Set for the phrase, which was heat embossed in white! then I used the same colors as the background to add color to the speech bubble! which I backed by another speech bubble die cut from black and white patterned paper!
