Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #445 - Flowers

hello and happy Sunday!
today I'm happy to be a Guest Sweetie as part of the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog's newest challenge! :)

hello!!! it's the perfect time of year for this FUN theme challenge! :)

spring has sprung, and it's all about flowers!

I used the Lovely Blooms stamp set and coordinating die for my card!
I colored all of the images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut out. I also splattered some color and white acrylic paint on top of the images!
the leaves were layered behind the images so they were just peaking through, then popped the whole thing up!

for the background, I used a tiny polka dotted stencil and my Black Soot Distress Oxide ink pad! The sentiment was heat embossed onto that white banner, and then I added some sequins for some jazz!

so that's my card!

be sure to play along for your chance to win! I can't wait to see what you make!
enjoy!

I made that background myself...channeled my inner Laura Bassen and went to town!

tropical cards!

hello again!
today I have this card duo up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
I used the suuuuuuper pretty Paradise Palms stamp set!

I inspired by *this* card I found on Pinterst! SOOOOO PRETTY!
first I started each card by layering the images to create a large island scene with black Versafine ink and then heat embossing in clear on top.

then I used Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks to add the water color! on the first card I did *not* use gesso, and on the second card, I did! it really affected the way the watercolor reacted on the papers!

you can kind of see the way the watercolor leaked through the embossed images here. I still like the look, but it was something I noticed!

I also the Tag Times Two die to add the sentiment on my second card! I heat embossed in yellows, which looks really lovely in person...but I just could NOT capture it well in photos.

also, see? no leaking of color, and the paper didn't warp at all! gesso for the win! ha!
a few sequins finished off both cards! love the beachy feel!! takes me back to the Caribbean, I'm ready to go back!! :)

enjoy!

pour some sugar on me!

hello there! i hope you're singing along to some 80's rock with me now! ha!

I have this card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog today, and it's made with the current 3-D challenge in mind! :)

yay!!
love this!
I made my very first 'waterfall' card! and while i LOVE the result...it was *not* a pretty process for me to make! lol!! I'm ready for Lawn Fawn to come out with this as a new die! lol!! anyway, here's a little video of the card in action:

fun, right?!
so you pull the tab at the bottom and the images flip up!
ok, so all of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out! I used images from Pumpkin Spice, Love You a Latte and Push Here. The sentiment was made with Harold's ABCs

I created the background by using Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber) and ink blending. I also splattered some color and white acrylic paint onto the background! love that happy yellow!

so be sure to check this card out on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog and play along! :)
enjoy!

you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on April 20th, right here!

my first card is watercolor-y and bright!

I used Distress Inks (Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Mustard Seed) to create the watercolory, raindrop look by smooshing the ink pads directly onto the raindrop stencil I have.
then I spritzed it with water and pressed it on to my cardstock! so fun! and so easy!

then I heat embossed the beautiful sentiment in black and fussy cut out some butterflies from vellum! I placed them around the sentiment and added glitter to their wings!

my second card is sooooooo sweet!

I love that little lily image!
I colored in the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut them out!
I used a circle die in my stash to create the shaped card and then, with Seedless Presevers and Wilted Violeet Distress Oxide Inks, I did some ink blending around one of the areas! then flicked some color on!

I LOVE the purple/green color combo and the soft kraft background really adds to the 'sweet' feeling to me! I also added some extra blooms with the small images!!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Wedding Frills Stamp Set + coordinating Die and Floral Lace Stencil

hello and welcome to day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs April release!

and oh my gosh you guys...this release is so completely amazing! I'm in LOVE with each new set, and I can't wait for you all to see it, too! it's so spring, and new beginnings and FUN!
today we have a new stamp set/dies and a new stencil: Wedding Frills Stamp Set + coordinating Die and Floral Lace Stencil
you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on April 20th, right here!

first, I created a card with just the stencil!

ok, I also used a stamp from the Birthday Essentials stamp set! you got me!
but that background - all the stencil!! and isn't it gorgeous?!

first I used white embossing paste over the stencil, removed the stencil and let it dry. once it was dry, I placed the stencil back on, and rubbed in some color with gelatos and Distress Crayons!! LOOOOOOOOOVE how bright the colors on!! and it was SO FUN!

the aforementioned sentiment was heat embossed in black onto vellum and then fussy cut out! love it!!

for my 2nd card I went monochromatic!!

it's totally something different for me! first of all, I didn't use white cardstock!! shcoking!! second, I don't usually do monochromatic! but I do LOVE how this card came out!

I heat embossed the flowers (gorgeous!) in white and then used Picked Raspberries and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks to ink blend over them until the middle.
then I splattered some color over the area too!

the sentiment was heat embossed in white on vellum, and then fussy cut out. and I finished the card with some sparkling clear sequins!
definitely SUPER girly, but I can get away with it because it's for a wedding, right?! ha!

today we're starting the week off with the new Newton’s Graduation + coordinating die and Essential Alphabet Die
you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on April 20th, right here!

and here's my SUPER FUN graduation themed card!

I colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and the used the coordinating dies to cut it out! I also gave Newton that fun little cap!

I used the new Essential Alphabet Dies to create part of the sentiment!

after I lined up the letter dies and die cut them out, I backed the area with some watercolor paper I created with Distress Oxide Inks (Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberries)! LOVE the little water drop areas peeking through the letters!

I finished off the card by popping up the newton image and heat embossing the rest of the sentiment!
