hang ten! over the rainbow!

hi!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog and I'm so excited to take part in sharing the FUN of this new Over the Rainbow die!

I really had a BLAST making this! it's so easy! and I have SOOOOO many more ideas!!

instead of making an actual rainbow, I made a wave for this little surfer!
I stamped the images from Mermaid for You, Beachy Christmas and On the Beach.
I did some frankenstein-ing and combined the top half of the mer-man with the bottom half of santa! lol!
all of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut out with the coordinating dies!
isn't that little mermaid girl watching on the shore adorable too! ha! I tried to make her scales (?!) sparkle with some details of a white gel pen.

the background was created by using Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina for the water. then I used Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the shore. I splattered the ink colors and white acrylic ink onto the shore to five it the sandy texture. then I used some white gesso paint to add the foamy look to the water.

I did that same background three times: once for the card front, once for the pull tab under the ocean wave and once for the scene under the waves! so fun! and definitely inky!

and speaking of the ocean wave...I die cut out the Over the Rainbow from acetate!!! then I used alcohol ink to add the colors! SOOOOOO fun!! SOOOOOOO unique (I think! ha!).

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #207 - Rainbows!

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

I had so much fun coloring up these beautiful bats!

so fun!
this challenge was made for me!

no images on this card - I know! I was too focused on the rainbow! but I have another rainbow card in the works with lots of cute images, no worries!
I used alcohol inks in a rainbow of colors to create the background! LOVED playing with my alcohol inks again; it's always so fun and exciting to see what the end result will be!

next, I used the Corner Rainbow Stencils to add some texture with White Embossing Paste. swoon! alcohol inks and texture! who could ask for anything more?! ha!

the sentiment is from Rain or Shine Before 'N Afters. it was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice cardstock, and then cut into strips and popped up with foam tape.

apple blossoms

hello!
today I have this card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog - and I love it!

it's been something that I had bouncing around my head for weeks!! and I finally found the time (and motivation! lol) to make it!
I stamped the images from Autumn Apples, Newton's Hanging Basket and Cherry Blossoms and then colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once they were dry, I splattered white ink on to of everything and then die cut them out once they were dry.

for the background, I used Alcohol Inks in greens and black. it's been a while since I've made an alcohol ink background, and it was so fun and easy! also, love how it makes the red apples pop!

I used a bunch of the little leaves and placed them around the card to add more gree.
and I finished off the card by heat embossing the sentiment in white onto black cardstock and fussy cutting it out.

this November release is allllll about those coffee loving vibes!

 

this is such a fun frame, with so many options! I used the new Coffee Shop Paper Pad for the card and I loooooove the colors!!!

I also used some navy paper for the frame and the sentiment! I love the BOLD of the navy against the cool aqua!

I also used some scraps of paper I had already alcohol inked for the stripes on the coffee cups! such a pretty color to match the patterned paper!
I used white cardstock that inked up with Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber Distress Inks for the 'coffee' inside the cups.

 

then the entire frame and the cups were popped up with foam tape.

Sweet Spiders!

hi there!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog, using some of the newest fall products! and BONUS: I made a video too!

who would have ever thought that I would say 'spiders are adorable', but these spiders are SO adorable! I stamped the images from Sweet Spiders and Sweet Spiders Add On and then used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolor them in! once they were dry, I used a white gel pen to add some details and then the coordinating dies to die cut everything out!
and who can resist a gaggle of pinks spiders!? lol!

instead of using a white cardstock base, I used acetate as my card base! so fun and different! I thought it would be the perfect way to highlight that spiderweb and make it pop! once the acetate was cut to the size of a card base, I folded it in half, and did some heat embossing in white (being very careful not to burn the acetate!)

inside the base of the card of adhered my alcohol inks background! I used a combination of Ranger Alcohol Inks and Pinata alcohol inks along with Alcohol Ink paper with Alcohol Ink Solution. I spread the ink color around with my heat gun, being careful not to burn or warp the paper.

the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Ballet Slippers Cardstock and then trimmed down to thin banners. they were also popped up with foam tape. the spiders were popped up with foam tape, too for some extra dimension.
I just love all of the spiders with their treats in the webs!

Lawn Fawny Holiday Week 2023!

hello!
today I'm here sharing a card I made as part of the Fawny Holiday Week celebration with Lawn Fawn!

today I made a slimline card with the adorable mice from Mice on Ice and Snowball Fight!

one of the reasons I love slimline cards the most is because you can expand on a scene! and these two sets were begging to be combined!
I colored them all with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut them out. I added foam tape to all of the images too.

I used alcohol inks to and yupo paper to create the look of the fozen pond! then I used the Scalloped Slimline with Hearts: Portrait die set to die cut out the pond!  I also die cut out some snowy hills with the Stitched Hillside Borders dies and white cardstock. then I used the same Slimline with Hearts: Portrait die set to die cut out the hills so they would all have the same scalloped borders!

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Black Soot, Iced Spruce and Lost Shadow to create the wintry sky. then I used some white embossing paste and the Birch Tree Stencils to add some texture! plus I just LOOOOVE that stencil set!

the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then I fussy cut out the 'joyful' and cut the rest into a banner! I also popped those up with foam tape!

sympathy card

hello there!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog and it's something I don't usually do: sympathy cards!
I think those orchid images are so beautiful! this time I colored them in an orangey/peachy color.

I stamped the image 3 times from the Orchids stamp set and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
once they were dry, I splattered some white acrylic ink on top. and then die cut them out with the coordinating dies.

for the background, I used alcohol inks on yupo paper to create the background. I used a small amount of black, navy and silver!

lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment from Bleeding Hearts in white onto vellum and attached it to the card.

Newton's Nook Designs March Release - Spring Blooms Oval

I love my card for today, because it's so pretty (to me!), but so easy to create multiple of, too!

it's so sweet and simple, right?
first, I stamped the image onto the card base, itself.
then I used some alcohol inks in pinks and yellows on acetate! that was so fun!
while it was drying, I die cut out the window on the card front with the Frames & Flags die set!

once the acetate was dry, I attached it to the back of the front panel. then I used foam tape to pop up the panel! it's hard to see in the photos, but the dimension of the acetate above the spring oval image is so cool and unexpected!

 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock, and then used the Oval Frames die set to die cut it out!
