roses are red...

hello!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog and it's sweet and pretty!

I started by stamping the images from the Roses stamp set 5 times. then I colored in the roses in various pinks and reds. once they were colored, I splattered some white acrylic ink on top.
then I used the Heartfelt Roses stamp set and stamped the image in black multiple times on a piece of white cardstock, very close together. I wanted it to look like it was one big image.
then I used the banner from the Basic Frames set to die cut it out.

I popped it up with foam tape and then placed the roses around it! LOVE the contrast of the bright colors and then black and white graphic look.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock and then die cut it out with the straight banner in the A7 Frames & Banners dies.

Newton's Nook April Release - Lattice Die

and sooooo versatile!

I am in LOVE with this new die - and I can't wait to make more and more cards with it!!

I was totally channeling my inner "spring garden' theme with this card!

I stamped the images from the Monarchs Stamp Set and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once the images were all dry, I splattered some white acrylic ink on top!
I die cut out the butterflies with their coordinating dies, and I also used the dies to die cut some vellum, and layered the butterflies on top of the vellum layer!

for the background, it was a little time consuming, but super worth it!
using white cardstock, I inkblended with Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron to cover the entire A2 sized card base. then I used the Trailing Leaves Stencil and the same colors, but with MORE pressure.
next, I die cut out the background with the new Lattice Die Set!

all of the squares were popped up with foam tape! so much dimension and fun!
I finished the card off by heat embossing the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock.

spring time thank you card

hello and happy Tuesday!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog and it's a perfectly timed thank you card!

so pretty, right?!
I stamped the main image from the Tulips stamp set 5 times and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I colored the flowers in various shades of reds and pinks. then I splattered white acrylic ink on top of everything. once it was all dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

I ink blended the background with Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. then I splattered the same colors on top, as well as more white acrylic ink. I was going to add some stenciling to the background, but the splatters really covered that effect! ha!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock, then trimmed it down. the sentiment is from the Floral Roundabout stamp set, and I love the font and size of the sentiments on that set!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #193 - Inspired by a Book, Music or Movie

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

this is one of my favorite challenges!!!

LOVE this idea!
this time, I created a card inspired by Peter Pan!

so fun!
I stamped and colored the images from Fairy Friends and Ahoy, Matey! I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the images. then I added some details with a white gel pen. I altered one of the pirate's hands to add a hook  (Captain Hook!). the hook was stamped with the question mark from Harold's ABCs! ha ha ha! love it!

 

 

I die cut the background using the Stitched Pond dies. I used Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the island. then I splattered some of the same ink on top, as well as some white acrylic ink. then I popped it up with foam tape.
I used Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers for the water!

I heat embossed the sentiment onto some Black Licorice Cardstock. then I die cut it out with the Stitched Sentiment Banners.

and hi!
today I have this card up on the Lawn Fawn blog! it's so sweet, and bonus! I made a video to go along with it!

so cute, right?!
I used the new It's a Bird stamp set with the older Mini Pop-Up Box die set! I LOVE that die! it adds just the right amount of surprise inside the card!
I stamped the images and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I also added some details with a white gel pen. and then I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

for the outside of the card, I used the Puffy Cloud Borders to die cut out a 'tree top' inspired image from white cardstock. and then used Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron.
for the cardbase, I used the Birch Tree Stencils and Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo for the trees, and Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina for the sky.

inside the card is the real gem! yay!
I decorated inside the box with some acetate to make it look like the birds were flying, and the little mouse was popping up in the tree looking for the birds! so fun!
I also ink blended the inside panels with the same colors (Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron).
the box itself was stamped with the Woodgrain Backdrops stamp and then ink blending with Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the 'tree' and the same greens for the 'leaves' of the box!
hopefully you can tell that the box is supposed to mimic a tree!

   
the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock. and I stamped a few music notes inside and out to finish off the card!

this spring release is allllll about happy, fresh and breezy!

I LOOOOOOVE these products today!
my first card uses the new Hyacinth set - and it's (almost!!) a one layer!

 

I stamped the images onto the background of the card front in Distress Oxide Inks. I used Wilted Violet to stamp the blooms and Mowed Lawn to stamp the stem and flowers. then I used the same colors, with the addition of Milled Lavender to ink blend around the stamped images.

I splattered some of the ink colors around, as well. then I heat embossed the sentiment in black onto vellum and trimmed it to a banner! then I used my sewing machine to stitch the banner on. 

I finished off the card by adding a bunch of sequins!  

my next card uses the new Daisies die set!

so pretty!
I die cut everything from white cardstock, and did lots of ink blending! I used Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold for the blooms. Pine Needles, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron for the stems and leaves. and a little Mustard Seed for the centers! then I splattered everything with white acrylic ink.

I heat embossed the sentiment from Spring Roundabout in white onto some vellum and cut it to the shape of a banner along the bottom of the card.

for the background, I used white embossing paste and the Trailing Leaves stencil! love that little bit of subtle texture.

I started by stamping the images from You're a Keeper, Fox Costumes Before 'n Afters, All the Clouds and Hive Five. then I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once they were dry, I used a white gel pen to add some details to the images and then die cut them out with the coordinating dies!

  

 

for the background, I started by using Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina for the sky. I also used Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the grass. and I die cut out the grass with the Grassy Border.

the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice cardstock and then popped up with foam tape.
