today I have a fun, tropical-themed birthday card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
I love how fun and bright it is!
Lots of color and inking and dimension!
I started by stamping the images from Aloha Newton and then using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color them in.
then I used a white gel pen to add some details, once the images were dry and then die cut them out with their coordinating dies!
for the background, I did some ink blending with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral and Dried Marigold. then I used the Music Stencil on top, and used the same colors, but with a lot more pressure in order to add the subtle music sheet background!
then I used the new Music Notes Stencil and some white embossing paste to and added some music notes around the card. LOVE that pop of white and whimsy!
the sentiment is from Birthday Oval and was heat embossed in white onto black cardstock and the I fussy cut around it.
I popped it up, along with the hibiscus flowers, with foam tape and then glues the rest directly to the card front.
LOVE how bright and happy this is! Also, I hope the sentiment combined with the music notes really gets you humming along to the happy birthday song!
I'm officially really for the summer birthdays!
be sure to check out this card up on the Newton's Nook blog!
enjoy!
