hello again, so yeah - busy day up on the old blog today! ha!
thanks for sticking with me!

today marks the Sweet Stamp Shop March release! yeah, it's an awesome one!
you can find all of the new stamp sets available here!
not only are there incredible new sets being released, there was also a MAJOR restock of older Sweet Stamp Shop stamp sets!

here's a little image of a bunch of watercolored images from the new release!

here are a few of my March Release projects:

yeah, you know i had to make a card using that Zombies set!! ha ha!!
i stamped the image multiple times with Memento Jet Black ink, and then (without re-inking!) i stamped a bunch more!

i colored (using Copics) the 'moving' images in various shades of greys, making sure NOT to go darker than the outlined image. then the main image was watercolored with Distress Markers. i love that it looks like he's running...well, running in so much as a zombie can run! ha! can't wait to give this to my bestie who's a HUGE walking dead fan!

my next project uses the adorable Smart Cookie stamp set!

i seriously LOVE those cookies! they're chunky and full of attitude! and oh so cute!!
i watercolored my image with Distress Markers and then used some Distress Inks and a Tim Holtz stencil to create the beautiful rays! once that was complete, i used some translucent embossing paste and went over the stencil, just to add dimension and some shine! :)

i think this card would be perfect to pop into my son's lunch box one day! what a nice surprise that would be! :)

thanks so much AGAIN for stopping by!!
be sure to pick up your favorite sets in the Sweet Stamp Shop online store! :)
enjoy!

Inky Paws Challenge # 130 - Spring Theme!

**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see my Your Next Stamp Color Challenge #35 card, scroll down, or click here!**

hello again!

today is the start of a new Inky Paws Challenge over on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
and the new challenge is all about spring!!

yay!! Newton's Nook Designs has SO many spring-type stamp sets, but the new release had that perfect Hello Spring set with the bunny, and i just COULDN'T resist! ha!

i colored that cute little bunny with copics and then fussy cut her out!
i used Distress Inks (Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick) to create that watercolored background. and once it was dry, i used my diagonal stencil and some embossing paste to add some texture!

then i used the Black Soot Distress Paint to color the wood veneer frame! once that was dry, i heat embossed the 'hello' in white!
and for the strip on the side, i used one of the phrases from the Hello Spring stamp set and the cute little leaf images to add a bold, graphic text style kind of look! LOVE how that came out!

i hope you have time to play along with us! you could win some Newton's Nook Designs of your very own!
enjoy!

for my 1st card, i just had to used the Queen's Guard image!

eeek! so cute!
i colored the image with copics, and then fussy cut him out! but then i used the dies to cut out the image from some white cardstock, and i popped up the two pieces together - so FUN! i love that unexpected dimension it adds!

the heart is from the Darling Hearts Die set, which i die cut out of white cardstock, and then added some Distress Ink blending in Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio!
to finish it off, i added some stars with embossing paste a stencil!

eek! love it!
for my 2nd card, i used more of the same techniques, but the card is TOTALLY different!

i used Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks to create a watercolor background. and once it was dry, i added the rain shapes with embossing paste and a stencil!

for the bottom half of the card, i stamped the images from that were 'city' related, and even did a bit of masking! ha! so FUN!

then i heat embossed the butterfly image in bright pink and die cut it out of the watercolor panel. i also die cut out the shape several more times from plain white card stock, and used them all to add some dimension to the card!

twins layout!

**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see my Newton's Nook Designs March Day 1 release, scroll down or click here!**

Hi again!
Today I have a project up on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog sharing a fun way you can use all of those little images in the stamp sets we have to create a focal point, or in this case, a title for my scrapbook page! :)

Using the background images from Adventure Awaits, Craft Night, Elements, Nod to Mod and Between You and Me, I stamped different areas of the watercolored panels in black ink! I made sure to cover enough surface area with the stamping to cover the area of a letter:

Then, I turned those stamped/watercolored/cut panels into this title:

So that's my project!
Be sure to head over to the Sweet Stamp Shop blog to see the close ups and how this came together!
enjoy!
