hello there!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
the current challenge is all about Autumn!

I had the idea to create these cute little leaf people in a rainbow of colors!

so fun, right?
I love those little guys!!
I die cut all the leaves using the Stitched Leaves dies and white cardstock. I did lots of ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks in a rainbow of colors. then I used the smiles from I Scream, You Scream and die cut out the eyes and mouths!
I backed the faces with black cardstock. I also used the black licorice cardstock and die cut out the legs and arms with the Mr Sun die set. then I pieced them together to fit behind the leaves!
instant cute leaf people! ha!

I die cut out the sentiment from more black licorice cardstock with the Henry's ABCs dies. and the whole time I was making the card, I was singing the David Bowie song in my head! lol!

for the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Lost Shadow and Iced Spruce with the Birch Tree Stencils onto a background die cut with the Large Slimline with Sliders

fall chrysanthemum card!

hello!
today I have this beautiful, fall themed card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
I was inspired to make this card by my bestie who LOVES chrysanthemums and displaying them on her porch this time of year!

so pretty!
I stamped the image from the Chrysanthemum Stamp Set 3 times and colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! I used pinks and oranges and apricots and purples!
then I die cut them out. I fussy cut out 2 of the images to separate the flowers so I could create these fun bouquets on either side of the banner!

for the banner, I heat embossed the sentiment from Heartfelt Fall in white onto some light beige cardstock.  then I die cut it out with the Banner Trio Die Set. once it was die cut, I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to ink blend a little around the edges.

I die cut out the card front, also from a light beige, using the Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. then I used the Falling Leaves Stencil and some Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink to add the tone on tone fall background! LOVE that tiny detail!

this card is one of my favorites, and I hope it made you smile, too!

Sweet Spiders!

hi there!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog, using some of the newest fall products! and BONUS: I made a video too!

who would have ever thought that I would say 'spiders are adorable', but these spiders are SO adorable! I stamped the images from Sweet Spiders and Sweet Spiders Add On and then used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolor them in! once they were dry, I used a white gel pen to add some details and then the coordinating dies to die cut everything out!
and who can resist a gaggle of pinks spiders!? lol!

instead of using a white cardstock base, I used acetate as my card base! so fun and different! I thought it would be the perfect way to highlight that spiderweb and make it pop! once the acetate was cut to the size of a card base, I folded it in half, and did some heat embossing in white (being very careful not to burn the acetate!)

inside the base of the card of adhered my alcohol inks background! I used a combination of Ranger Alcohol Inks and Pinata alcohol inks along with Alcohol Ink paper with Alcohol Ink Solution. I spread the ink color around with my heat gun, being careful not to burn or warp the paper.

the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Ballet Slippers Cardstock and then trimmed down to thin banners. they were also popped up with foam tape. the spiders were popped up with foam tape, too for some extra dimension.
I just love all of the spiders with their treats in the webs!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #181 - Awesome Autumn

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

yay!    

my favorite time of year and my favorite challenge site!

there's nothing more cozy, than a fall-themed challenge! and I LOVE this theme!

I stamped the images from You Autumn Know, Let's Go Nuts and A Bug Deal. then I colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. I also added some details with a white gel pen. I had originally decided to mix the colors of the leaves on each branch, but then I decided to color match the leaves to the background blending! 

 

 

and speaking of blending! I used Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberries and Squeezed Lemonade. I love those colors for fall!

 

once the leaves were added to the branches, I used the Fall Leaves Background Stencils and some white embossing paste to add some texture and fun details to the cluster of leaves! so fun!

   
the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then cut into a strip.

my first card uses the the beautiful and wonderous Leaf Splendor stamp set!

I stamped and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
once it was dry, I splattered some white acrylic ink and gold spray on top. then I die cut out the leaves with the coordinating dies.

for the background, I used the Tree Rings Stencil and Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. I also splattered some gold ink on top of the background! then I die cut it with the Frames & Flags die set.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock, and then die cut it out! 

my second card uses the new Leaf Splendor die set and Autumn Woofs Paper Pad!

I love that cute paper!!
I used the A2 Card Layout 2 die set and die cut it out with black cardstock.
then I heat embossed the leaf images in white onto vellum. I die cut them out and attached them to the frame, over the puppy paper!

 

 

I heat embossed the sentiment from Fall Harvest stamp set onto a circle of patterned paper that was die cut using the Circle Frames Die Set.

this just may be one of my favorite sets!! I was going to make a bookmark, but then couldn't resist making a fun card for my reading bestie!

I stamped and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I couldn't help but color it all in with a pinky, purply and orangey color scheme! LOVE those colors for fall! once the watercoloring was dry, I added some details with a white gel pen.

I die cut out the card front with the Basic Frames Die Set from white cardstock. then I used the Clouds Stencil and Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Picked Rapsberry, Dried Marigold and Seedless Preserves. soooo whimsical! 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto the background. and then I placed the whole thing onto a light beige cardbase.

I made an adorably cute and spooky bookmark!

I die cut the bookmark using the Bookmark II dies from white cardstock. and then I used the Starfield Stencil and Distress Oxide Inks in Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavender.
I then used some translucent paste on top. 

once it was dry, I used Black Soot Distress Ink over the entire rest of the bookmark.

I stamped the ghost images two times and then colored the images in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers once it was all dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

I also fussy cut out some of the extra ghosts and added them around the rest of the bookmark! so fun!

 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white and then used the same blue/purple distress inks around the sentiment.  

so cute!
