Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #219 - Family Matters

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

loving the idea of celebrating family members! lol!

so fun!!
I couldn't resist making another dinosaur card for Father's Day!

I started by stamping the images from Costume Party, Rawrsome, Rawr and Critters from the Past. then I colored them all with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added some details with a white gel pen and then die cut them out with the coordinating dies.

for the background, I die cut out the layers from white cardstock using both the Grassy Border and Stitched Hillside Borders. then I added color to each one by ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks in Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber.
I used Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon, Dried Marigold and Tattered Rose for the sky. then, once it was all ink blended, I used the Draped Ribbons Stencil and the same colors, but with more pressure to add the tone-on-tone look.

the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice cardstock, and then trimmed into a strip.

hang ten! over the rainbow!

today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog and I'm so excited to take part in sharing the FUN of this new Over the Rainbow die!

I really had a BLAST making this! it's so easy! and I have SOOOOO many more ideas!!

instead of making an actual rainbow, I made a wave for this little surfer!
I stamped the images from Mermaid for You, Beachy Christmas and On the Beach.
I did some frankenstein-ing and combined the top half of the mer-man with the bottom half of santa! lol!
all of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut out with the coordinating dies!
isn't that little mermaid girl watching on the shore adorable too! ha! I tried to make her scales (?!) sparkle with some details of a white gel pen.

the background was created by using Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina for the water. then I used Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the shore. I splattered the ink colors and white acrylic ink onto the shore to five it the sandy texture. then I used some white gesso paint to add the foamy look to the water.

I did that same background three times: once for the card front, once for the pull tab under the ocean wave and once for the scene under the waves! so fun! and definitely inky!

and speaking of the ocean wave...I die cut out the Over the Rainbow from acetate!!! then I used alcohol ink to add the colors! SOOOOOO fun!! SOOOOOOO unique (I think! ha!).

today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog and it's 100% giving '90s vibes!
I really love how this came out!

can you tell what I was inspired by...I'll give you a hint...it's Lisa Frank!
I was obsessed with Lisa Frank when I was a kid (still am): the rainbow colors, the bright, the animals! what's not to love! lol!

I used a sheet from the new Retro Mix Toner Card Fronts and used some rainbow foil. then I used Distress Inks in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina to ink blend over the foil.
HIGHLY recommend ink blending over foiled card fronts! it's so easy and fun!

I heat embossed the sentiments from Party On! Stamp Set onto black cardstock. then I cut them into strips. I also die cut out the frame from the new Card Front 7 Die Set using black cardstock and popped it up with foam tape. 

I finished off the card with some white, matte enamel dots!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #218 - Anything But a Card

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

I love how happy this challenge theme makes everyone!

it's a scrapbook layout!

so fun!
I haven't made a layout in a while, and I was a tiiiiiiny bit rusty!
I created this sweet candy-themed layout in tribute to our familys' halloween costumes this past year!

 

I trimmed off a large corner of a 12x12 piece of white cardstock. then I used papers from the Candy Cane Lane 6x6 Paper Pad and die cut out the edges with the Puffy Cloud Borders die. I love how it's resembles clouds with a scallopped edge. I did the same thing with a white/clear gift bag from my stash.

 

 

I used more paper from the Candy Cane Lane 6x6 Paper Pad and die cut out the title of the layout with Oliver's Stitched ABCs dies. I then cut out the same letters with Black Licorice cardstock, and then placed the black behind the patterned paper letters to create a shadow.
I also used the papers to back the photo, which was popped up with foam tape.

I die cut out the two paperclip images from the Paper Clips die set, and then I heat embossed the sentiments from Costume Party and Happy Howloween in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then cut them in strips.
I popped them up with foam tape. and then I sprinkled some sequins and candy and star images from the same sets: Costume Party and Happy Howloween!

spring fling butterflies

hello!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics challenge blog and it's got that spring vibe!

the current challenge is all about Spring and all the good times that go with it!
I couldn't resist making another card with the adorable new butterflies!

I stamped the images from I Like Big Butterflies and All the Clouds. they were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then I added some details with a white gel pen. once everything was dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.
I also sprinkled some white acrylic ink on the clouds, too.

for the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers.
once I finished ink blending, I put the Sunray Background Stencil on top and spritzed with water. I love the subtle look of the rays!
then I die cut out the clouds for the top and bottom of the card using the Puffy Cloud Borders from white cardstock. I popped them up with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment onto the bottom cloud in black ink.
the butterflies were popped up with foam tape, and the stamped clouds were attached directly to the background.

I love the spring theme!

daffodils for spring!

hello!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
It's got that lovin', spring feeling!

I stamped the image multiple times from the Daffodils stamp set, and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
instead of coloring them in yellow like a typical daffodil, I went with the less common color for daffodils, and it's so pretty!

once the images were dry, I die cut them out with they're coordinating dies.
for the background, I used the new Card Layout 7 die to die cut out from white cardstock. then I did some ink blending in various corners with Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron.
I then, stamped the same daffodil images in the same colors of the greens for some added fun.

I LOOOOOOVE the mix of the geometric pattern of the background with the beautiful fluidity of the flowers.
the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto black cardstock and die cut out with the banner from the A7 Frames & Banners die set.

Newton’s Nook Designs Retro Party! - Party On!

I legit had so much fun making everything this week!!

this one is too legit to quit, eeeee!

this time, no coloring with markers, only inks!
I die cut out the main card front from white cardstock with the Basic Frames Die Set. then I Distress Oxide Inks in Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade to stamp the shapes. then I heat embossed those shapes from the new Party On! stamp set in clear.

once it was all dry and cool, I did some ink blending on the cardstock in Picked Raspberry, Saltwater Taffy and Dried Marigold. then I finished it off by stamping in black with the squiggles and outlined shapes.

I popped up that panel with foam tape, and layered some black cardstock on an angle. the background of the card is a piece of the New Retro Paper Pack. again - that purple called to me!!!
the sentiment was creating by using a lot of the fun, retro sentiments in black ink! and then, I finished off the card by sprinkling on some enamel dots in coordinating colors!
