a garden of blues and purples!

hi there!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
I love how it came out!

I stamped the images from the Hyacinth Stamp Set and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I used various blues and purples to add a mix of colors to each bunch of blooms. then I splattered some white acrylic ink on top. it's my favorite thing to add to flower images! lol!

in the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavender.
once the ink blending was done, I used the Petite Flowers Stencil and some white embossing paste on top!
I love using white embossing paste on Distress Oxide Inks right after blending. the color soaks into the paste and it make a pretty tone-on-tone look...with texture!
once everything was dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto white cardstock.
then I die cut it out with the Circle Frames Die Set. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron.
then I popped up the sentiment and 3 of the hyacinth blooms with foam tape.

Newton's Nook Designs 12 Year Celebration - Card Layout 3 and 4 Dies, Happy Birthday Die and Birthday Time Paper

my first card uses all of the new products!!
I use the Card Layout 3 die set, Happy Birthday Die Set and Birthday Time Paper!

it's such a fun die set!
I die cut it out of blue cardstock, then popped up a few of the blue panels with foam tape.
then I used the blue confetti paper to back it! LOVE that paper!

 

I stamped the image from Newton's Cupcake and then colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once it was dry, I added some details with a white gel pen and then popped it up with foam tape.

 

 

then, I heat embossed part of the sentiment in white onto the same blue cardstock. and die cut out the other part of the sentiment and backed it with vellum!

 

my next card uses the new Card Layout 4 die set and more of the Birthday Time Paper!

LOOOOOOVE this one!
I die cut out that gorgeous confetti paper with the Card Layout 4 die set, and then attached it to some very light grey/light beige cardstock.
then I added some texture with the Confetti stencil and white embossing paste on top.

while that was drying, I stamped the images from Newton Loves Cake and Newton's Thanksgiving and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added some details with a white gel pen and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out!

I die cut out the banners from the Frames & Flags die set and Banner Trio die set. then I heat embossed the sentiment in white on one and added them to the card.

little tiny lilies

hi there!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook blog and some pretty little lilies!

so sweet!
I stamped and colored the images from the Little Lilies Stamp Set. just a subtle light grey for the blooms and bold green for the leaves! then I added some details with the white gel pen.
then I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

for the background, I used some purple glitter cardstock from the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock that was die cut with the Frames & Tags die set.
then I used the Trailing Leaves Stencil and some white embossing paste to add a little texture.
the sentiment was heat embossed in black onto some vellum and then die cut with the Frames & Flags Die Set.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #188 - Let's Celebrate

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

the challenge this time is so easy, yet so FUN! you'll want to play along more than once!

the Let's Celebrate challenge is sooo fun and versatile! this time, I decided to make a sweet rainbow baby card!

adorable!
I stamped and colored the images from Plus One with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. then I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images. and of course - I couldn't resist coloring them in a rainbow palette!

 

for the background, I die cut the base with the Large Slimline with Sliders dies from Fog Cardstock. then I used some white embossing paste and the Cloud Background Stencils to add some subtle texture.
a few of the umbrellas were popped up with foam tape, but most were tapped directly on the card front.

 

I heat embossed part of the sentiment from Little Bundle in black onto some vellum. then I die cut it out with the Fancy Wavy Banners. the rest of the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock. then I trimmed it way down. 

 

I finished the card off with a light sprinkling of black ink around the card!

new year and winter inspiration!

hello!
wishing you all a healthy and happy day!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
the current challenge is all about the New Years and inspiration from the photo board!

this time I was inspired by the winter sparkles and sequins in all of the photos!

 
so pretty, right?!
I started with some Blue Jay Cardstock. then I did a little ink blending on top with Seedless Preserves.
next, I used the beautiful Birch Tree Stencils with some white embossing paste. and before it was dry, I sprinkled some Prisma Glitter on top. the I used silver stars, sequins and clear drops to add to the sparkle and whimsical vibe. 

I made sure to spread out the cluster of silver stars, clear drops and silver sequins around each tree and branch. As well as to make sure the glitter showed up.
I heat embossed the sentiment from Snowy Backdrops in white onto vellum. then I used the Fancy Wavy Banners to die cut it out and add a swishy banner.

I love how simple, yet beautiful this card is!

I am totally in love with these yummy coffee images!! (even though I don't drink coffee!!! ha! all my loved ones do, and I just images they're hot cocoa!)

looooove it!
I used the Frames & Tags die set, and die cut it out with some forest green cardstock.

I used a nice neutral, soft beige for the background. then I used the Music Stencil and some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks to add a subtle tone-on-tone look! I also used the Petite Snow Stencil and some white embossing paste along the corners and edges!

 

all of the images were stamped and then colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut out with the coordinating dies. I also added some details with a white gel pen. 

 

 

I stamped the sentiment in an ombre of greens to tie in the frame, and it was complete!

both of my cards use the new Evergreen Frame Die Set!
my first card also uses the new Merry Christmas Die Set - LOOOOOVE these new sentiment dies!

I die cut out the evergreens two times, and then watercolored with Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Pine Needles. I also watercolored the background in pinks and corals using Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold. then I splattered some white acrylic ink on top of everything!

the sentiment was die cut in black cardstock, and then layered on top of some vellum! love that subtle look! I also die heat embossed the santa's sleigh image from the adorable Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set.

 

 

I finished the card by using the white frame to complete the whole scene!

my second card uses the Evergreen Frame Die Set with the new Christmas Word Trio die set!

 

 

again, the beautiful evergreens were die cut from white cardstock, then I used Distress Oxide Inks to add color! I used Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the trees. for the sky, I used Uncharted Mariner, Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers.

then I used white embossing paste and the Petite Snow Stencil set to add some texture and pops of white! I also added it to the sentiment!

I die cut the snowflakes from the Snow Globe Shaker Die Set and then added the same color as the JOY letters: Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold.
