happy birthday to a real fungi!

hello!

today i'm popping in to share this card i made using a few Sweet Stamp Shop stamp sets! :)
(try to say that 5 times fast! ha!)

i colored those cute little toadstools from Mush Day in with copics and then added some glossy accents to the 'white' circles! i love adding a pop of texture like that! :)

the base of the card was created with some Mowed Lawn Distress Paint and white embossing paste! i mixed it all together and then smeared it on with a palette knife and super awesome chevron stencil!

the balloon was colored with copcis too, and then i added some wink of stella and lots of glossy accents for even MORE shine! the balloon images from Balloons are just adorable! they can pretty much be used with any stamp set! lol!

i stamped the sentiment from Alpha Tabs (one of my all time FAVORITE stamp sets!) and stitched it on to the card front!

hello and happy friday!
today starts a new Inky Paws Challenge over on the Newton's Nook blog! woo-hoo!
and this time, it's a color challenge, and the colors...swoon - incredible!

see?
i LOOOOOVE them!

i created this fun little thank you card and i just love it!

for the background, i swiped some distress paints across a card base - love that look! on top of that, and once it was dry, i used a stencil and some embossing paste to add the chevrons! love it!!!

i fussy cut the gorgeous flowers from Love Grows and popped a few up for some added dimension! behind the large flower is some thread, oh! and i stitched on the sentiment. i just LOOOOVE the look of tiny type alphas stitched on with the flowy-ness of flowers!

Sweet Stamp Shop's May Release

hello!!

yesterday was release day for the Sweet Stamp Shop!! and what an awesome release!! i am in love with EVERY single new set! it's so exciting!

i made 2 cards with some of the new sets, and i wanted to show them off!

this first little card is a spinner card!

that's right! the star spins! on one side is a mild mannered little boy, and on the other...

super boy! ha!
i have two little menn (ages 3 and 6), and um, yes...to say that our house is overrun with super hero things is an understatement! so i knew this Super Boy set would be PERFECT to make little cards to hide for them! :)

i colored the images with copics and then popped up the banner over some misted cardstock! i really like how it came out!

my second card is my favorite!
ha!

i colored both little kids from the Super Boy and Super Girl with copics and popped them up over a background i stenciled white on white with some texture paste!

that fun sentiment is from This Means War, and the little rock paper scissor guys are from the Countdown stamp set!! i LOVE it!! this is how my husband and i settle little disputes - i kid you not! ha! so i knew this card would be perfect to give him, someday! :)

so those are my cards for this release! be sure to head over to the Sweet Stamp Shop site to get yours today!
enjoy!

longing for you baby card

hello again!
today i have a card on the Newton's Nook blog with a fun mix of stamp sets!

i colored all of the images with copics, and popped most of them up with some foam tape!
the onesies and clouds are from the Winged Wishes stamp set. i just think that set is SO cute!

the hot air balloons are from Newton Dreams of Paris (LOVE that set!), and i heat embossed the sentiment from Delightful Doxies onto a die cut black tab! i LOOOOOVE using black and white washi on the side of my cards (it's a current addiction of mine!), but i thought there needed some more black to ground to the card, so that's where the label came in! :)

\\

this card is for one of my besties who has finally been able to adopt a precious baby boy after years of infertility, beating cancer and adoptions that have fallen through! i couldn't be happier for her!! she's doing the nursery in a hot air balloon theme, which is why they're on this card! ha!

thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out the Newton's Nook blog, too!
enjoy!

lawnscaping challenge #106 - try a new technique

good morning!

today is a brand new Lawnscaping Challenge! (insert appropriate fan fare here! ha ha!)
this time it's all about going outside of your comfort zone, and trying something new!

this was a hard one for me, to come up with something new...that i wasn't too much of a pansy to try! lol! but while i was watching videos, i saw Jennifer McGuire do this outline watercoloring...so i gave it a whirl!!

needless to say, i need to keep working on it to refine it! ha! but i still had fun! i don't have those neat markers that she used, so i used my inktense pencils, and they worked great!
that fox is from the super adorable Into the Woods stamp set. i just think he's SO cute! the balloon is from the super versatile Admit One stamp set, i love that one!! and the sentiment is from the super FUN Happy 4th stamp set! i really LOVE those fireworks!

for the background, i used some chipped sapphire to tint my embossing paste and smeared it on over a stencil! i heat embossed the sentiment on the vellum banner, and popped it all up over some polka dot washi!

for even more inspiration (if you can stand it!), check out the lawnscaping facebook page! we're dedicated to keeping your creative juices flowing! :)

this week we're sponsored by lawn fawn! so get your card making on, and you could win a stamp set of your choice! :)

a sweet little friday

hi there!

i'm just popping in to share some Sweet Stamp Shop projects I made! yahooo!

the first is this layout i made of my littlest little mann...it's future blackmail! lol

this was taken last Father's Day, and he was wearing the (purposefully) tacky tie we got for my husband...and basically nothing else! last year it was so hard to keep him in clothes! lol!! he thought he was so cool. apparently when you're 2, you are proud of everything! ha!

i stamped the cute little tighty whiteys from the His and Hers stamp set along the center of the layout.
i also colored in a few of them with copics, just 'cause.

then i used some embossing paste and a star stencil along the same center line!

the title was made with some peerless watercolor paper and DIY Heidi Swapp thickers, to match that barney purply in the tie! i also stamped the 'cute' sentiment from Dragon on the little tab in the photo cluster!

Some washi, some more of that purply embellishments, and the layout is done!
now time to save it for a day when he brings home his first girlfriend...mwa ha ha!

my 2nd project is a super girly card using that amazing Unicorn stamp set! i LOOOOOOVE it!

i pleated some tissue paper and stitched it down. then i popped up that little cute unicorn (which i had colored with copics) and added the sentiment!

the hardest part were the pleats! lol!

so there are a few fun projects for today! hope they made you smile!
enjoy!

summer lovin' had me a blast + giveaway details!

**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see Day 3 of Newton's Nook May release, please scroll down, or click here!**

hello again!
did you see that Create a Smile stamps is releasing a limited edition collection kit?!

it's AMAZING!!!
it has exclusive product include stamps, flair, enamel shapes and dies!! plus WAY more!

today, the Create a Smile video team is having a v-log hop showcasing this awesome kit...and wow!!! and guess what, you can win it!

i wanted to share how versatile this kit really is! so i made a layout! it was featured on the Create a Smile stamps blog yesterday, you can check it out (along with some AMAZING cards by my teammie!) here!
and i LOVE how it turned out!

last summer, my little Menn and i went to a community event and it was just so much fun! lots of bounce houses, games, music and of course, water! (during the summers in SC, it gets unbearably hot! hotter than anywhere else i've been! ha!) to cool down, there were some food trucks offering sweet treats! my boys HATE sweet things (no chocolate, sugar or icecream for them! they're so odd! ha!), but there was a snowcone truck...i was able to convince them to try a snowcone...with NO FLAVOR!! ha ha!! it was literally crushed ice, and they LOVED it! insane, i tell you! but it was so hot, i didn't complain!

what little boys don't love sweets? mine! but it's ok, i know the day will come when they will decide to (finally!) try something sweet, and their world will be rocked! ha! until then...i'll be happy to eat all the halloween candy and sweet summer treats! they can have the ice! :P

that's what this layout is about - the enjoyable summer 'treat' they love! ha!

i cut some of the papers into squares, and then again into triangles and glued them down onto a white piece of cardstock. then i covered it with clear gesso! once it was dry, i added the watercolor look with distress inks and the packaging technique! :)

i also used the papers to back my photo! i used one of the pieces of flair, some enamel shapes, chipboard and the dies!! i cut the die out of acetate and stitched it to my layout...i thought it would be SO appropriate to use acetate, since it's clear like ice...ha!

be sure to check out the v-log hop for your chance to win this kit yourself!! i can't wait to see what everyone makes with it!! i'm so excited for this release!! :) it will be available to purchase here on Friday!
enjoy!

i colored the champagne glasses with copics and added some messy stitching around the sentiment, and top of the card.

i love the layers and splatters on this wedding or anniversary card!

my 2nd card was really FUN (and a little messy!) to make!

i used mustard seed to add some watercolor to my card base. and once it was dry, i flicked some water on to add the 'bubbles' of champagne! :)

i heat embossed on some woodgrain paper, and added some soft pink pleating with tissue paper. i also decorated that paper clip by stitching some pink ribbon on top!
