rainbow colored rain!

the latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge has me reveling in my rainbow obsession! I LOVE IT! ha ha!
today I have this card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

loooooooove it!
I used the cloud images from Plane and Simple and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! then I heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of grey cardstock, and coordinated that with a strop of grey washi on the side! I KNOW I KNOW! not black and white, but I thought the black would be too distracting from that gorgeous rain! lol!

oh, yes, the rain!
I tinted embossing paste with lots of rainbow colored Distress Oxide Inks and then used a rain drop stencil! sooooo pretty!

Newton's Nook Designs and Studio Katia Blog Hop!

hello!!

What an amazing day!
Welcome to the Summer Fun Collaboration Blog hop with Newton's Nook Designs and Studio Katia! Both teams are celebrating the start of summer with fun and colorful cards using stamps from Newton's Nook Designs and dies and embellishments from Studio Katia. There's prizes too! Both companies have a prize to give away too so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

I created TWO cards for this AWESOME hop using various Newton's Nook and Studio Katia products! :)

My first card is a little ocean scene! :)

I started by stamped and coloring my images from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! :)
I fussy cut out the images, once they were all set. I die cut a bunch of layers from white cardstock using the Land Borders and Sky Borders dies to create 'waves!' then I did some Distress Ink blending on them in Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch!

I cut out a speech bubble shape using the Stitched Duo Speech Bubble die and then used Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks to add color behind the window! I finished off the card with some
clear round drops - perfect for a water scene card, I think!

My 2nd card uses a similar color palette!

I colored directly onto my Pineapple Delight stamps with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then die cut them out! I used the sunglasses from Newton's Summer Vacation (again!!) to jazz up the cute pineapple!! LOVE it! Ha!!!

The sentiment is from Dog Days of Summer, and I heat embossed it right onto the speech bubble cut out! I topped this card off with some Vintage Sheer Sequins mix - LOOOOOVE the sparkle those little guys add to the summery card!

We are giving away TWO prizes - one prize pack from Studio Katia and one $25 store credit from Newton's Nook Designs!

Here's how to win:

making my world brighter

hello and happy sunday!

today i am sharing a card that i made for the most recent Little Tangles challenge! this one is a color inspiration, and let me just say...i love the colors!! totally awesome!

see? it reminded me of summer, right away!
but for my card, i sort of went masculine...with sequins!!! ha!

i used the amazing (!!!!) origami map set from Neat and Tangled! i just LOVE this stamp set so much!

i stamped the main image onto some MFT Natural (light kraft) cardstock. i've never colored with copics on kraft, it was SO fun!
then i colored in the countries/states with orange/yellow copics! and then i outlined the world image with some aqua copics and faded it out. i also matted the panel with vellum and an aqua panel of patterned cardstock.

the sentiment was stamped onto a vellum strip over the whole world; which i think is appropirate considering the super sweet and loving sentiment! :) the sequins are the awesome soft orange Summer Sun, and just possibly could be my favorite pack! (odd since it's orange and not my top favorite colors...i know!!)

so that's my card!
i actually finished this on friday, but then...laziness..a little add...weekend things...you know the drill, it all happened and i am just now posting this - nothing like last minute entries! ha! :)
enjoy!

miss you mucho

happy saturday!
i'm hoping to get some crafty time in as soon as my littlest mann goes down for a nap...fingers crossed! lol!

today i'm sharing a card i made for the most recent Mama Elephant and Me challenge! LOOOOVE mama elephant and LOOOOOOVE the challenge! FUN!
this month the theme is anything goes - nothing easier than that!

i decided to make a 'miss you' card!

for the background panel first i used some transluscent embossing paste that i colored with two different Heidi Swapp sprays to get the perfect cool aqua color! once that was dry, i used chipped sapphire and evergreen bough distress inks to create the night sky. and then flicked it with some water!

LOVE how the background turned out!
i colored the little girl with copics and popped her up on top of the vellum banner (the sentiment was heat embossed). both the image and the sentiment are from the In My Heart stamp set. i just LOVE those little kiddos in the set!!

so that's my card! i'm hoping to play along again! we'll see what this weekend brings! ha ha!
thanks for stopping by and enjoy!

inky paws challenge - beach paradise

ahhhh yes!
just the mention of a beach paradise and i think waves, sun, relaxation and heaven! :)

JUST like the inspiration photo for the latest inky paws challenge going on over at newton's nook designs!!

see? i know you want to go there, just as much as i do! :)

which is why i created this card!

see? i wish you were here, too! lol!
my card is all watercolored! the background and the main image!
i LOVE how the hula bunny from beach party came out! so FUN! and i even added a little bit of glossy accents to her ears, because....well, it was on my desk, so i used it! lol!

i popped up the bunny onto that handcut beach sand. i used white heat embossing for the waves and purposefully made the wves darker towards the top of the waves! LOVE that look! :)

finally i stamped the sentiment onto a hand cut vellum banner and that was the card! totally LOVE this! :D that sentiment is from the newton's summer vacation stamp set!

hope it inspired you to get your own paws inky and play along - you could win some newton's nook! that's cool!!
enjoy!

wish you were here - true story!

well hello there!

today i'm here to share another card i made with the new AMAZING release from newton's nook designs!
my card is over on the newton's nook blog today, so be sure to check it out over there, too! :)

ok, so on to my card!

i just LOVE it! ha ha!
there aren't very many colors that i don't like when paired with aqua, and brown sure works well!

i created the backgound using some pearlescent embossing paste that i tinted with two different distress paints - tumbled glass and peacock feathers!

then i colored the super awesome sandcastle image from newton's summer vacation with copics and popped up just the sand castle and kitty!

so that's my card!
there will be a new inky paws challenge up on the newton's nook blog on friday, so be sure to check back for that!

enjoy!

miles apart don't affect the heart

hey there!

i was just sitting here...thinking, why not share a card i made the other day?
it was for the awesome sketch at the CAS(E) this sketch challenge! i mean, it just BEGS you to play along!

see? it's so cute!
so, for my card, i broke out my new mama elephant stamps! and i used the uber adorable in my heart set! SO sweet!!

that little boy image with the feety pajamas...ack! so adorable! so i had to color him up first! :)
first i used some embossing paste and a US map sencil for the front panel. then i layered some washi behind it for color pops!

i stamped the sentiment on vellum and then stitched it onto my card, over the embossing paste! texture, texture, texture! lol!

the little image was colored with copics and then popped up and a little airplane wood veeneer finished it off! :)

so that's my card! i just love it!
thanks for stopping by!
enjoy!

lawnscaping challenge - emboss this

good morning! and happy monday!
it's a new day, and a new week, and a new challenge over at the lawnscaping blog! :)

i love embossing! dry or heat! and that's what this challenge is all about! :)

for my card, i focused on heat embossing! and lots of different lawn fawn stamp sets!

yahoo!
i heat embossed the sentiment from wish you were here onto some vellum that i colored with distress inks. the white really POPS against the colored vellum - i LOVE it! :)

and i made that burst of woodgrain by embossing the woodgrain backdrops onto white carstock. heat embossing in white, and then i added color with some distress stain! love that!!

the fox is from into the woods, and i colored him with copics and then popped him up for some dimension!
the clouds are my favorite part! i used the cute, puffy, adorable clouds from starry backdrops! i colored them with some aquas and light, light greys!! i LOVE how they turned out! :)

ok, so now it's your turn! :) i really hope you join in on the fun with this challenge!!
for even more inspiration (if you can stand it!), check out the lawnscaping facebook page! we're dedicated to keeping your creative juices flowing! :)
what's the worst that could happen? you could win a gift certificate to simon says stamp! hello!!
