hello!
today i'm SUPER excited to be sharing a card for the new Little Tangles Challenge for the month of July - Die cutting!
i'm a guest over there today, and i am SO honored and excited to be able to play with the Little Tangles team this month! they are SO talented and nice, and i am humbled to be among them this month!
ok - so the card!
i used the super adorable Hoop Die for my card!
i cut out the border of the hoop 5 times and stacked all of the layers together to create some dimension within the hoop! then i added some silver paper for the hook (?!)! and that paper within the hoop is super old, from Sassafrass, but i still have it and it looked JUST like some cross stitch material to me!
i lightly stamped the cupcake image from Sketchy Cupcakes with Old Paper Distress ink. i used that as a guide to add my stitching outline!
then i used some Spun Sugar distress ink and added a watercolor look to the background of the card. a few pink sequins from Lucy's Little Things Sequin Pack in English Rose and the sentiment from For the Record stamped in a beige, and the card was complete! :)
i hope you'll find the time to play along too! i can't wait to see what you make! :)
enjoy!
hey there!
today i just wanted to pop in and share a layout i made for a couple fun challenges!
the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge this month is all about pink!! you can't go wrong with pink, i say!
and over at the Little Tangles challenge, it's all about watercoloring! i couldn't LOVE that more!
so i combined the two challenges and came up with this super pretty (at least I think so!) layout!
i started with a 12x12 page from the Up In the Clouds collection from PinkFresh Studio! LOOOOOOOVE that collection!
I covered it in clear gesso, and then used Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold distress inks to add watercoloring! (my favorite way is to smoosh the ink onto a piece of packaging, then spray with water and then smoosh the packaging onto the layout!! FUN!)
Once that was dry, i stamped the cloud images from Clouds (fitting!) and the triangles from Tiny Triangles, just to add some more contrast and fun to the background!
but guess what? i didn't stop with the background there! i also added some hearts with a stencil and embossing paste! and that was it! i promise! ha! background - complete!
next up? heat embossing part of the Dreams stamp directly onto the photo! scandalous!
I used lots of papers to layer the photo and add some dimension! then i used the same papers to mimic the layers for the subtitle on the top right corner! the sentiment is from Origami Map and was heat embossing in white!
i took some wood veneers and also added watercoloring to them!! LOVE that!
i stitched the sentiment on and then added some random stitching on other parts of the layout! a few enamel dots and other embellishments, and the layout is done! whew!
thanks for stopping by!
enjoy!
hi there!
it's sunday afternoon! my little menn are outside playing in the beautiful weather with my husband, and i'm getting some crafty time in! it's win-win! :)
i have a fun card i created for the Little Tangles Challenge going on now!
yep! "hello", now that's a theme i can get into! ha! :)
here's my card:
i used some distress inks (worn lipstick, spiced marmalade, and mustard seed) and smooshed them on my craft mat. then i sprayed it with water and laid my card base on top - love that background! i stamped the world image from the Origami Map stamp set over it!
then i stamped just North America out onto some patterned paper popped it up over some loose string. i stamped the label sentiment and hearts from the Everyday Labels in versmark ink on some scrap white cardstock, heat embossed it all in clear, and then stitched them onto my card front!
i stached some coordinating patterned papers (which i cut by hand) behind the map and it was done! :)
hope it makes you smile and a big, "happy hello" to everyone who stopped by! :D
enjoy!
hello!!
it's almost christmas! and it's almost sunny!! ha ha!!
well, i can't even say it's almost sunny, actually there is an ALMOST tropical depression just sitting over us! it causes lots of rain and lots of clouds. lol!
well, that was a tangent!! lol!
my card today is about clouds though, so that's where this all started! :)
i created this card for the most recent Little Tangles challenge, which is all about BLING, baby!! :)
how can i resist?
i heat embossed some of the clouds from the super LOVELY Clouds stamp set from Neat and Tangled, in Liquid Platinum, and then watercolored some distress markers onto them. LOVE the pools of color near the edges. i definitely added a little shading near the edges, just so it wasn't so flat.
then i popped up some of the clouds and added two different sized silver sequins (the larger Silver Metallic ones are from the Neat and Tangled shop!).The front panel was spritzed with a little gold mist and then i stitched onto a few of the clouds, and card base....because...well i love to sew on cards. i can't help it! :)
so that's my card!
i'm hoping this card makes my spirits bright, since the weather certainly won't! :)
what's the weather like by you?
enjoy!
hello and happy sunday!
today i am sharing a card that i made for the most recent Little Tangles challenge! this one is a color inspiration, and let me just say...i love the colors!! totally awesome!
see? it reminded me of summer, right away!
but for my card, i sort of went masculine...with sequins!!! ha!
i used the amazing (!!!!) origami map set from Neat and Tangled! i just LOVE this stamp set so much!
i stamped the main image onto some MFT Natural (light kraft) cardstock. i've never colored with copics on kraft, it was SO fun!
then i colored in the countries/states with orange/yellow copics! and then i outlined the world image with some aqua copics and faded it out. i also matted the panel with vellum and an aqua panel of patterned cardstock.
the sentiment was stamped onto a vellum strip over the whole world; which i think is appropirate considering the super sweet and loving sentiment! :) the sequins are the awesome soft orange Summer Sun, and just possibly could be my favorite pack! (odd since it's orange and not my top favorite colors...i know!!)
so that's my card!
i actually finished this on friday, but then...laziness..a little add...weekend things...you know the drill, it all happened and i am just now posting this - nothing like last minute entries! ha! :)
enjoy!
hello all!
it's friday! and today i am sharing a card i made for a couple ongoing challenges! :)
little tangles is having an anything goes challenge (in honor or World Card Making Day last saturday)! challenge accepted! ha ha!
and also, check out this amazing photo inspiration from the runway inspired challenge!
oh gosh! i love! i love the colors, the white space and all of the 'splatter-y' looking things behind the model! so cool!!
so here's my card, with those challenges in mind:
so fun!
i took my gold dellicata ink pad and swiped it along in the bottom left corner of some white cardstock. i looooooove the brush stroke look you get when you do that! i stamped the sentiment from neat and tangled's everyday labels stamp set and popped them up with some foam tape! SUCH A VERSITLE SET! love it!
that panel was then popped up over some bold black and white diagnol striped paper from my stash and then i added some more gold splatters and black splatters! and finally a few gold sequins finished it off!
so fun, right? i really LOVE how this card turned out!
enjoy!
hello!
well today is my biggest little mann's birthday! he's 6 now! crazy!!
in honor of that, i wanted to share a birthday card...it's actually not HIS birthday card...it's another birthday card, that is clearly for a girl! lol!
when i started to make the card for my little guy, i came up with this idea...but it morphed into a VERY girly birthday card! lol! so he has another one!
of course, i just HAD to play along with the little tangles challenge - it's about birthdays! lol!
so here it is:
see?
super girly! but i LOVE it!
i used the brand new gifts for you stamp set! it's so adorable!
i copic colored the little girl and put her on the cute little tag! and i just LOVE that the tag is being lifted up by balloons!i used some thin twine to make the strings and looped it around the tag!
all of the balloons, and the tag, were popped up for dimension! and then along the side of the card i used a strip of super happy washi!
thansk for stopping by!
enjoy!
good morning!
i thought i'd pop in real quick and share a card i made for a few challenges!
the current little tangles challenge is all about stencils! and so am i! so i had to play along! :)
and just take a look at this GORGEOUS runway inspired photo inspiration! LOVE it!
greys, and yellows and layers - yes please!!!
now, on to the card, shall we?
eek! i love it! so fun!
i took some patterened paper vellum (it had the light grey bursts on it) and cut it a few times, at different angles, and then layered it all together! i LOVE vellum, and i love the look of stitching, and vellum and stitching ROCK together, so i totally stitched it all together at the top of the card!
then i used my heidi swapp polka dot stencil to then add even MORE pattern onto the layered vellum! i made went from darker to lighter (going left to right) and i think it adds SO much, and totally mimics the pattern on the dress! (i don't LOVE flower images...so i went circles and sun bursts! lol)
finally i watercolored the sweet song bird image popped it up for dimension! it's hard to tell, but the belly of the bird is a soft blue. and i stamed the sentiment with staz-on ink, also from the my heart sings stamp set! one of my first and faves from neat and tangled! :)
so that's my card! i totally love it!
and i hope it made you smile, and perhaps next time you'll add some distress ink to vellum. LOVE that look! i could do it all day!
enjoy!
hello hello!
today i'm sharing a card i made for the most current little tangles challenge - watercolor!
um, did someone say watercolor? ok, i'm in! lol! :)
here's my card - i do love it!
i used the whimsical, beautiful and lovely little stamp set dreams from neat and tangled on my card! LOOOOOOVE that handwriting...swoon!!
so i decided to stitch the 'dreams' part of the stamp onto the card front panel. first i colored over the stamp in pencil and then stamped it onto the paper! lol! not very technical at all! then i poked holes along the word, and then erased the pencil and got to stitching!
gold thread rocks! and i love the gold, and whimsy of the sentiment on that gorgeous background! i used lots of distress paint, water and my heat gun to make that background! love it!
lastly, i heat embossed in white the rest of the sentiment, and then adhered it to the card over some loose gold thread.
oh, and that mint background frame is because i thought the card was toooooo warm! i had to cool it down a little! so i sprayed some heidi swapp mint shine onto a white cardstock and there you go!
enjoy!
good morning!
and what a beautiful morning it is here! *mostly because it's friday!!* ahhh, friday! i'm one day away from my little menn letting me sleep in until 8:30 or 9...i can't wait!
today i have a card to share that i made for the current little tangles challenge!
decorating inside the card is not something i do often! most of the time, i just forget! so this was a nice little way to get me into that groove again! :)
i used the you + me stamp set from neat and tangled for both the outside and inside! love that set!! you can use the already made sentiments or combine all of them to make your own - which is what i did! and i think it's a perfect anniversary card!
i stamped the open heart image onto some striped vellum and then overlapped them, which i think is really sweet!
then i stamped the heart image onto white cardstock, placed it in the corner, and stamped part of the sentiment. then i popped up that heart and added a heavy coat of glossy accents!
inside the card, i stamped the sentiment and then surrounded the sentiment with the arrow image! i just mased on either half to encomass it all. i think it's so sweet! then i used the closed in heart to add a subtle clear embossed heart to the sentiment. :)
so that's it!
can't wait to sleep! lol!
what are your plans this weekend?
enjoy!
hello!
just popping in with a card i made for the most recent little tangles challenge!
it's a monochromatic challenge!! oooo! FUN!
i chose yellow, and tried to stick to it as best i could! believe me, i had some ideas that i was loving, but i had to pause, because i kept adding more colors! oops!
so anyway, here it is!
yellow!! so i used three stamp sets from neat and tangled! awesome!
the background was made with the woodgrain border from on the strip 2. i heat embossed it on clear and then painted on lots of yellow mist! :)
i added a crooked panel of vellum (i can't help it!! i'm a vellum addict!) and stamped the sentiment from just thinking of you in black stazon ink. so pretty! i love the scriptyness of it with the flowy bird! :)
and speaking of the bird - it's from my heart sings. probably my favorite neat and tangled stamp set! :)
i added a few sequins and pearls to finish of the card!
so that's it! i had a ton of fun making this card!
enjoy!

i love how my card turned out! and it's a little deceiving because it looks like it is pretty straight forward but i used two different stamp sets for the sentiment (and then sketchy cupcakes for the main image!).
i just love that little 'dollop' shape for frosting on the cupcake!! it makes me smile everytime!
the setiment was created using my heart sings and sparkle and shine! lots of masking and trial runs to get it right! ha ha!
i love that neutral base because it really makes the cupcake pop! i used some foam adheasive to elevate the background and put some of my favorite ever washi behind it to up the fun factor!
so that's it!
