and not only that, people it's OCTOBER!! how did that happen?! ha!! but i'm so glad it did, because that means FALL!

isn't that Pinterest image GORGEOUS!! it just exudes fall and warm cuppas and happy! lol! i LOVE this!
my card uses those beautiful oranges and browns, and i brought in a lot of texture, too!

i love it!
ok, so I watercolored those ADORABLE little acorns from the Into the Woods stamp set with my Distress Markers! they're so cute! i popped them up over some torn vellum that i glittered with my Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen! :)

the leaves from the Stitched Leaves die cuts! I used Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to create the color! then I splattered some white acrylic paint on top of them!
The background has texture from a polka dotted circle and some embossed paste! LOVE how this came out!

so that's my projectare you ready to play along?

this week we're sponsored by a brand new sponser for the Lawnscaping Challenge - Ellen Hutson! so get your card making on, and you could win a $25 gift certificate! hello!! :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #137 - Texure-fied!

well, It's time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge!! :)
and it's time for a new month! and people - It's September!! i seriously can't believe it's already September...

anywho - let's focus on the good!
the new Lawnscaping Challenge is all about texture! and i couldn't be MORE excited to make something!

eeeek! so fun, right?
i used some of the new Lawn Fawn sets and, naturally, textured cardstock! ha!
to start, i used Distress Inks to create a watercolor-y, winter-y sky (Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet and Salty Ocean).

Once it was dry, I used a falling snow stencil and some embossing paste to create the puffed up circles of snow! so FUN!!
i stamped the penguin from Snow Cool onto some white woodgrain paper! i used that same paper for the snow hills, which were die cut using the Stitched Hillside Borders

i heat embossed the sentiment from the new Merry Messages, and placed it on the edge of the scene! a little unexpected, but fun, right?

so that's my projectare you ready to play along?

Inky Paws Challenge #35 - Burlap and Lace

hello and good morning!
today starts a new Inky Paws Challenge on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
and it's a great one - burlap and lace!!

so unique! and it really pushed me! but i came up with a card i just LOVE!

i used the AMAZING butterfly set: Beautiful Wings, along with the coordinating dies - the dies really make it SO easy!!!
it just so happens that I had some burlap 'paper' lying around, so i cut it into a banner shape (and ran some glue along the edges to prevent any further fraying)!

the butterflies were heat embossed in white onto some vellum, which i really think just adds to the delicate feel of the card! then i used my sewing machine to stitch the butterflies onto the burlap!
i even added a white doily under the banner! LOVE this card! It's not my usual style, but I'm super in love!

so be sure to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge so you can have a chance to win some Newton's Nook stamps and dies!
enjoy!

lawnscaping challenge - texture

well hello!
it's monday! and hopefully all of you enjoyed a nice weekend! that's what weekends are for, right?

and monday's are for new lawnscaping challenges! yahoo!
this one is all about texture!!

as in, oooooo that card looks amazing, let me touch it! lol!
that was what i thought of when i was creating my card - one that poeple want to touch! lol!

so here it is:

lots of texture-y goodness, right?
i used some authentic-looking woodgain patterned paper and then put some white embossing paste on top!
then i spattered some gold and black mists onto the background.

i used a circle die and crumpled up the vellum (touch it!!) and put some thread underneath it all wonky!
the fox is from into the woods and i LOVE him! i colored him with some copics and popped him up! the top and bottom of the background is also machine stitched on. and the sentiment is from wish you were here too! sweet!

so that's my card!
are you ready to play along?
