Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #207 - Rainbows!

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

I had so much fun coloring up these beautiful bats!

so fun!
this challenge was made for me!

no images on this card - I know! I was too focused on the rainbow! but I have another rainbow card in the works with lots of cute images, no worries!
I used alcohol inks in a rainbow of colors to create the background! LOVED playing with my alcohol inks again; it's always so fun and exciting to see what the end result will be!

next, I used the Corner Rainbow Stencils to add some texture with White Embossing Paste. swoon! alcohol inks and texture! who could ask for anything more?! ha!

the sentiment is from Rain or Shine Before 'N Afters. it was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice cardstock, and then cut into strips and popped up with foam tape.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #190 - Anything But a Card

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

the challenge this time is so easy, yet so FUN! you'll want to play along more than once!

I love any excuse that allows to me the opportunity to create a scrapbook page!

so fun!
my family, along with my in-laws and brother/sister-in-law always go big for halloween! 2 halloweens ago, we went as the Island of Misfit Toys characters! and it was SO fun!! I'm so glad I was able to document this moment!

I used dragged the Distress Paints in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade onto the white cardstock background.
then I splattered it on top with white acrylic ink and black acrylic ink.

 

I used the Snowflake Trio Stencil and black Gesso  to add the bold black snowflakes (perfect for a halloween layout! lol)
then I used the pumpkin from Costume Party and stamped in the coordinating Distress Oxide Inks to stamp some tone-on-toine punpkins!
I heat embossed part of the sentiment with Harold's ABCs in white onto some black licorice cardstock. then used the Stitched Sentiment Banners to die cut it out.

 

I die cut out the rest of the sentiment with Henry's ABCs and then popped it up with foam tape.
next, I backed the photo with papers from the 6x6 Candy Cane Lane paper pad as well as some guaze.

peekaboo kitty scrapbook layout

hello and happy Thursday!
today I have this scrapbook layout up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

I've been itching to make a scrapbook page for a while! and I thought it would be so fun to make a punny layout about my cat Sedona peeking out from under the covers! lol!

I started by using the packaging technique and Distress Inks in Peackock Feathers and Salvaged Patina. after the watercoloring was dry, I used the 'boo-ya' sentiment from Ghostly Good Times stamp set in the same ink colors to stamp on top of the watercolored areas. I also used the Ghosts Stencil and some white embossing paste to add texture and more ghosts to the layout!

I used 3 different papers from the Black & White Basics Paper Pad to back the photo, along with some white tissue paper and white tulle! I love the addition of the white tissue paper and tulle because it gives the ethereal feel, like the ghosts!

I used a combination of thickers for the sentiment (a play on words with the ghosts, so fun!) and then added lots of various puffy stickers and chipboard stickers from my stash! I also stamped and die cut out the cute little kitty ghost from Ghostly Good Times stamp set and used it as an embellishment, too.

I love using stamps and stencils on my layouts!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #175 - Summertime Fun

let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

nothing goes together better than summer and Lawn Fawn!

I LOVE making summer themed cards with Lawn Fawn products!
and this time I did a LOT of watercoloring for the background!

 

I stamped the images from Life is Good, Fintastic Friends and On the Beach. then I colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I also decided to fussy cut out all the images! I just love that little crab on vacation!

for the beach/sandy shore I used Distress Inks in Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber. then I sprinkled some white acrylic ink and the same ink colors to make it look sandy!
the wave was created with watercolors onto the 80lb white cardstock and lots of white acrylic ink! so FUN!

I popped up the sand castles, crab, beach ball, sun and sentiment with foam tape. the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then the banner was hand cut.

two roly poly kitties layout

hello - it's Friday!
today I have this fun, sweet layout up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

so cute, right?
I die cut a bunch of papers from the Birthday Woofs paper pad with the Bookmark Die Set. then I tied two of each together with some twine! love that look!

I used the white embossing paste with the Pawprints stencil to add some little kitty paw prints all over the layout! which I love how that looks!

I totally shopped my stash and grabbed all of the embellishments I could that coordinated with the colors of papers! and it was SO FUN!

my two little girls just love to flop over on their backs when they're feeling playful! and it's so sweet and adorable!

cutest cuddle puddle layout!

 hello there!
today I'm feeling the monday vibes and wishing I was in this cuddle puddle with my kittens!!

this layout is up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
I had so much fun doing lots of mixed media! I used the Meow Stencil and white embossing paste to create the circle in the center. then once it was dry, I used watercolors in yellows, lime greens and grey over it all.

I also die cut out lots and lots of stars with the Sky Scene Builder dies from the Birthday Meows Paper Pad. I stamped all around the area with the Cat-itude stamp set in black and also sprinkled the stars and various puffy chipboards too!!

then I stitched all around it the whole circle!

I know it's not a card, but the same techniques can still be appplied to a card, too!
