good morning!

today i have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog featuring some Christmas stamp sets released last year!

i just LOVE it!
that cute cat couple is from the Newton's Christmas Cuddles stamp set! I used Distress Markers to watercolor them in! LOOOOOVE them! 

the background was made with Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet - the current colors of my hair!! for reals!) and some white acrylic ink that i splattered on top! to enahnce the effect of a 'sky' or stars, I added lots of white sequins! 

the sentiment is from Holiday Smooches and was heat embossed onto some black cardstock! :)

Simon Says 2016 Stamptember + Newton's Nook Release!

hi hi hi!!

how awesome is the month of Stamptember!? ha ha!
and it just got even MORE awesome!!! 

i just LOVE this stamp set!! it's SO sweet and SO fall!! it's everything to love!!
i love it SO much, i made TWO cards!

my first one is a shaker, and it's SO cute!

what's not to like?! that CUTE raccoon is SO adorable!! I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers  and then die cut the bird out!

the background was ink blended with Distress Inks and then i splattered some water on top! a favorite technique, to be sure! 

my second card uses that ADORABLE fox image!!

i seriously LOVE him!
again, i colored with my Zigs, and then die cut it out!

the sentiment and the mushrooms were heat embossed in white, and then i did lots more ink blending to create the sky!! it's basically all the same supplies, but a totally different card!! so FUN!

Inky Paws Challenge #36 - Halloween

hello and good morning!
today starts a new Inky Paws Challenge on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
and it's a great one - halloween, anyone?

mmm...that looks delicious...but i digress! lol on to the card! 

i love it!
i didn't go with traditional halloween colors! this time, i went in the pretty pretty princess direction! lol!

i colored the image with copics and then fussy cut it out! the background was created with a stencil, Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and some watercolor on top! it was fun! oh, and LOTS of glitter on the wings, side of the card and star of the wand!

i stamped the sentiment onto a Distress Inked banner (die cut from the Garden Window Die set)! the sentiment is from the new Dress Up Doxies set! and that cute princess pup is from an oldie: Boo Crew! love the combination of everything!

today i have card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog! and it's all about football! ha ha!

that's right, football people! and no, i'm not a fan! but my husband (and subsequently my little Menn) and my besties are HUGE college football fans! they're rivals, naturally, so it's lots of trash talk between our husbands this season! sigh.

anyway, i made this card is honor of my besties' family's team! green and white!! (anyone have any idea what college team they're fans of?? i'll give you a hint: it rhymes with "wish-igan state university) let's just not mention this to my husband! lol!)

i colored the little guys with copics and then popped them up! the background was created by ink blending Worn Lipstick and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks! then i heat embossed the sentiment in black!

Lawnscaping Challenge #138 - Geometric!

so excited! it's a Lawnscaping Challenge! it's a new week! what's not to love about today?

now this was FUN!! I loved sneaking in these geometric shapes into my card!! :)

isn't that ADORABLE koala from Critters Down Under so cute?! Eeeek! I just love him! i watercolored him in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and then fussy cut him out! 

The background was made with Distress Inks (Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron) which I smooshed onto my circle stamp block, spritzed LIGHTLY with water, and then pressed onto my card front! :)

i also flecked some white acrylic paint on top to make it looks like stars! the sentiment was created with Harold's ABC's! :)

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #376

hello again!

Newton's Nook Designs is sponsoring the new Cupcake Inspirations Challenge, and i LOVE how spooky and theme-y the colors are for this time of year!

these are not my usual colors, but i had fun challenging myself and i really like my card!

fun, right? I just LOVE combining stamp sets! I used the new Dress Up Doxie stamp set, along with an older set, Boo Crew!

i colored my images with copics and then fussy cut them out! the background was created by using the Garden Window Die set as a mask! I used Seedless Perserves, Wilted Violet, Lilac, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks to blend the background!

i'm not going to lie - i instantly wanted to make 100 cards with this set!! the images are ALL so perfect!!! it was almost impossible to decide!! 

i just LOOOOVE this image! those pumpkins are so fun and newton popping out is ADORABLE!

i did some watercoloring with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and then fussy cut him out! 

shocking, i know, but the background is Distress Ink blended! i splattered some water and gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine! finally, i heat embossed the sentiment! i just LOVE the pop of orange!

my second card was a blast to make! 

no, it's not a trick of the eye, you're seeing purple on my card! lol!

i used Seedless Preserves, Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold Distress Inks to create the watercolored, circle background! i heat embossed the stars in white and then popped up my sentiment and cute little witch!

Newton's Nook Designs September Release Day 3 - Fall-ing for You

and the fun continues with Day 3 of Newton's Nook Designs September Release! 

i know i am not going to be alone when i say that this Fall-ing for You mini set is SO ADORABLE! 

you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on September 16th, right here!

my first project is a scrapbook page!

i just KNEW that the adorable, sweet and PERFECTLY fall sentiment had to go on a banner! and what better way to accentuate a banner than on a scrapbook page! lol! (ps - that photo was taken almost 7 years ago of my oldest little Mann! he's just over a year here, and we were at his very fist Pumpkin Patch! look at that belly!!! oh, i miss this age!!)

after i did some watercoloring with Mustard Seed Distress Paint, I die cut the banner and heat embossed the phrase! 

for the background of the page, i used some texture paste and Spun Sugar Distress Ink to add a little light pink watercolor to the background! 

i layered some patterned papers, tissue paper and canvas dip dyed tag behind my photo and then stamped the cute cute leaves from the set!

i really LOVE how this came out!

for my second project, i made a card with just the images! 

i love it!

i stamped the leaves in a circle, and then stamped MORE leaves onto some watercolor paper and fussy cut them out! those leaves are popped up around the circle!

and those pumpkins are just too cute!! i LOOOVE them!!

i finished the card by doing some light Distress Ink blending around the edges in Tumbled Glass and then i drew some dots in black around the wreath! i LOVE the whimsy that adds!

hello again!
today i have a cute DIY project up on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog!

They're SO adorable! Of course, that's because I used the CUTE as can be images from the T-Rex Hugs stamp set! I am just still so in love with this set, and I have a million MORE ideas for it!!

What do you think? Would you add some stamps to straws for your next party? I LOVE the way it immediately amps up the adorable factor!! Ha!

Newton's Nook Designs September Release Day 2 - What a Hoot + Coordinating Dies

welcome back to day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs September Release! 

we're all about owls today with the What a Hoot stamp set! this cute mini set and coordinating dies are just so sweet and fun to use! 

you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on September 16th, right here!

both of my cards used watercoloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, so let's check them out!

oh yeah! i used the dies to create the fun background - that's right! i used my dies to emboss onto the cardstock,not cut it!! it's a new (to me!!) technique, that i've been DIE-ing (get it?!) to try!! and i'm so glad i finally did!

once the images from the dies were all embossingonto the paper, i did some loose watercoloring and then popped up my bright blue owl! ha! finally, i stamped one of the sentiments down the edge of my card for a little unexpected fun!

my second card is super clean and simple, but has some fun gold foiling!

it's hard to tell in this photo, but the card front is woodgrain paper, and it's super texture-y and super perfect for this owl! after i watercolored the branch and leaves, i splattered some white acrylic paint on top and let it dry.

then i ran it through my laminator with some gold foil and boom: instant gold drops of awesomeness!! i LOVE how it looks!

i finished the card by stamping the sentiment on the inside and adding a few more of those gold flecked leaves! because...gold!!

Newton's Nook Designs September Release Day 1 - Dress up Doxies

hello and good morning!

i have some good news to share on this Monday...it's the start of the Newton's Nook Designs September Release! 

That's a pretty great way to start the week, i think!
today, the whole DT is showcasing the super playful, super cute and super PUNNY Dress up Doxies stamp set!

you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on September 16th, right here!

it was so hard to decide which images to use, because let's be honest, they're so CUTE!! but my first card uses that impossible to resist taco dog!! ha ha!

i don't know about you, but in our house, tuesdays are always taco nights! (thank you the Lego movie! Lol!) so i just had to use this little guy!

i did some watercoloring with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and then fussy cut him out! 

i did some Distress Ink blending on the background in Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar! I also splattered some water and black ink and then added some patterned paper for the folded over corner! just a fun little detail!

my second card uses uses the cute cute cute super hero pup!!!

eeeeeek!! so cute, right?! lol!!

I just love that little guy!! i did some masking (level: rookie) for the clouds and some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and then heat embossed the sentiment! 

the stars are actually a sneak peek from another set we'll be sharing on Thursday! ha!
