you have a pizza my heart!

hello!
today I have this fun, yummy!, card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

Any Way You Slice It Card by Samantha Mann for Newton's Nook Designs, Newton's Nook, Pizza, Cards, Card Making, Die Cuts, Masculine Card, #newtonsnook #newtonsnookdesigns #pizza #cardmaking #cards

so fun!
I made this card for my son - who's away at college for the summer for the FIRST TIME, and I'm having a hard time with him not at home - so I'm sending lots of cards! lol
I started by stamping the images from Newton's Thanksgiving and Newton Loves Pizza and coloring them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I also added some details with a white gel pen once everything was dry.

I used some paper from the Black & White Basics Paper Pad that reminded me of a vintage pizza restaurant! then I used the Card 4 Layout Die Set to die cut it out.
it adds such a fun look!
I die cut out the banner using the Banner Trio Die Set and then heat embossed the sentiment from Newton Loves Pizza Stamp Set in black.

I finished off the card by sprinkling on a few red sequins (or pepperonis!!) ha!

be sure to check the card out on the Newton's Nook Designs blog, too!

Brace yourself, I didn't do any ink blending!!
instead
, I used some of the beautiful paper from Gleeful Gradients! wow! I'll never get over how much I love that paper pad!
I used some white woodgrain paper for the ground of the house.

I stamped the sentiments from Screen Time in Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink to look like a text, and popped it up with foam tape!
I love the versatility of this card, but also that it's perfect as a masculine card, something I struggle with!

I really can't WAIT for you to play along! you could win a $25 gift certificate to Lawn Fawn!!!!

Caught a Bug Card by Samantha Mann for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge, Lawn Fawn, Distress Inks, Get Well Card, Card Making, Paper Crafts, #distressinks #lawnfawnatics #lawnfawn #lawnfawnaticschallenge #getwellcard

masculine cards are often hard for me to make, but this one came so easy! I just chose the bugs! lol!! and the colors - swoon - totally FUN and exciting!
I stamped all of the images from A Bug Deal and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
once they were dry, I fussy cut them all out!

for the background, I die cut out the back panel with the Stitched Woodgrain Backdrop with white cardstock. then I used Distress Inks in Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber to add the color! I splattered some white acrylic paint and ink to it, as well!

you mean (more than!) the world to me!

**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see my PC&S Farewell Blog Hop post, scroll down, or click here!**

woooo!! two more days and the December release for Create a Smile stamps will be ready for purchase!! it's SO exciting! :)

today i have a card on the Create a Smile blog showing off the new Balance stamp set! it's just awesome - and perfect for valentine's day or ANY day, really! :)

here's my card:

LOVE it!!
i found out, that flair fits PERFECTLY into the scale!! so cool!!
i colored the scale twice with copics and then popped up SOME of the pieces for dimension (to match the height of the flair!).

then i used some embossing paste and a star stencil for the base of the card! the 'You' from the sentiment is chipboard, ALSO available at Create a Smile!! :)
i darkened the color with distress inks, and then added glossy accents on top!
the sentiment was added to the vellum banner, and then the card was done!

********
side note about the globe flair...i actually didn't have any world flair pieces, so i painted gesso over an old piece of flair. when that was dry, i used distress paints to add the 'world' image!! SO COOL!!
i totally made it work, as Tim Gunn would say! :)

head over to the Create a Smile stamps blog to see the other GENIUS card idea for the new release, by DT member Anja!! :)
enjoy!

a masculine baby card?

alright, here i am with my last entry for the CHA contest over at lawn fawn!

i'll make this a quick post! so, here's my card:

is it a little masculine? i was going for a masculine feel for the card, and then i thought...uh, sam...a masculine baby card?! i don't know what i was thinking, maybe i was drink on color! because i love that color combination! :)

i weaved some of my ribbons together on the side. the nestabilities label is popped up for dimension. the mobile is heat embossed, and then the moon and stars are also popped up. then i added some glossy shine to the moon and stars, i love the subtle feel it gives off!

the carriage is paper pieced, and it's hard to tell, but i added the mini star the center of the wheels.

so that's my card!

enjoy!

mann-ly love

well, i decided to try my hand at a masculine card...not my usual cup of tea because i'm all about cute and quirky! but since i am in a mann house, filled with boys (even our cat is a boy!), i thought i should take a crack at it! :)

i made this card for the sparks challenge at paper smooches, just take a look at that inspiration photo! and for the young crafters united challenge - masculine cards! (ps - they'll be having a blog hop this weekend starting nov 4th. be there or be square!)

i LOVE it. i love the colors, the textures and the whole feel of the photo!

i just love that little light bulb from the 'perpetual bliss' stamp set! i paper pieced it and popped it up for dimension

the 'sparks' and sentiment are from the 'boob tubes' stamp set, and i heat embossed them so it would really pop on the dark background. the heart is fussy cut (also from boob tubes) and i added a glossy effect to it so it would be dark and shiny too.

i tore the edges because that seemed 'tough' and 'mann-ly' to me! ha ha! i was going to add some red thread to it and then i thought - sam, stop! this is a man card, before you know it, you'll add more hearts and a bow somewhere! lol. so i drew the line at the ripped edges and the asymetrical feel to the card. :)

enjoy!
