a decorated envelope!

hello and happy Thursday!
today I have a project up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog and it's super fun, if I do say so, myself. :) it's my first time trying to decorate an envelope and I love it!!
here's a little peek:

I started by using a premade envelope! (I don't have an envelope maker! lol!)

I stamped my critter images and the stars in black ink. then I stamped the critter images onto some removeable paper (like post it notes, post it paper, masking paper, etc) and fussy cut those images out, and stuck them completely on top of the stamped images on my envelope.
I also created a rectangular mask the same way (to leave room for the address!).

once the masks were in place, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Lucky Clover, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans and Black soon! I just did some light ink blending! Oxide inks really make it SO EASY to ink blend!
then I splattered water and white acrylic ink onto my background to add some more 'stars'!

once the background was completely finished, I removed my masks and colored in my little foxes! so easy, and so pretty!! I can't wait to get this in the mail to someone special!!

love it!!
ack!! those stars and the cute, cute critters!! so much cute! head on over to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog to check it out too!
enjoy!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Stylish Stockings + coordinating Die AND Reindeer Roll Call

i'm so excited for this week!
join us for today's Day 3 of Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release?!!

are you guys are going to FREAKING out with this release?! I am!

this month's release is all about the holidays!!! It's so fun!!
today the whole team is showing off the SStylish Stockings + coordinating Die  AND Reindeer Roll Call! whew!! you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on October 20th, right here!

I had SO MUCH fun making my cards!
for my first card, I used that AWESOME Stylish Stockings stamp set and coordinating dies

I stamped the images with Distress Oxide Inks and did the 'rock and roll' technique to add the two colors! then i used the coordinating dies to die cut them!

i used white embossing paste and the Snowfall Stencil to create the fun, dimension onto the white cardstock base!
then i used my sewing machine to add a 'banner' strip along the top to hang the stockings from!

i used the new Reindeer Roll Call stamp set for my second card!

I started by using a strip of vellum and cut it in the shape of a banner! then i colored all over it with copics and spritzed with rubbing alcohol to create that fun, abstract-watercolor look!

i used the little images in the set, stamped them in grey and then stitched on the vellum banner!!

I had SO MUCH fun making my cards!

I used the acetate here - it's gorgeous, it's blue and it's PERFECT for holiday cards! and let me tell you, it cuts with dies like BUTTER!

i also used the foam sheets - which was PERFECT for making the shaker part!!! it makes shaker cards so easy!
I also used the snowflake dies included in the set to use inside the shaker!! SO MUCH FUN!
then I heat embossed the sentiment from the new Sentiments of the Season on vellum and fussy cut it out to add to the snowglobe!

my second card uses the SUPER versatile Snow Globe Scenes stamp set and coordinating dies...but I DIDN'T make a shaker!

I stamped and colored all of my images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers then used the coordinating dies to cut them out!! SO easy!!
I also used the Snowfall Stencil and some white embossing paste and created a little wavy, neighborhood banner!

for the base of my card, i flicked some grey watercolor to look like snow! this set is MY FAVORITE!! (but i *know* i'll be saying that all week!! :)

I had SO MUCH fun making my cards!
for my first card, I used the Holiday Foliage stencil!!

i used my Distress Oxide Inks to add color with the stencil - which was SO easy! but before i started adding any of the color, i used a circle as a mask! and then i added a layer of the translucent embossing paste on top of everything! i LOVE that! it adds dimension and shine!!! so fun! so once everything was done, i removed the circle and BAM! instant area for a sentiment!

then, i heat embossed the sentiment in black on vellum and fussy cut it out!
this would be an AMAZING design to mass produce for the holidays!! you could even switch up the sentiments, to add some fun!

my second card uses the SUPER cute, All Aboard Stamp set!! eeeeeek!

I stamped and colored all of my images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers then used the coordinating dies to cut them out!! SO easy!!

for the background, i used the Snowfall Stencil! I covered it all in gray ink, spritzed it with water, then pressed it down onto my white cardstock! SUCH a fun way to add some details to the background!
then i heat embossed the sentiment in white onto a black strip of cardstock!
I just LOOOOOOVE the rainbow colors for Christmas!! ha!
