moving on to the card! I used a couple of different WOW embossing powders and they really helped bring my card to life!

I heat embossed the adorable snowflakes from the Smiling Snowflakes stamp set over a misted, patterned paper background! hello! could i have more going on in the background!? lol!

then i colored the train image from Whimsical Wheels with copics and popped them up with foam tape so they can easily carry in the winter wonderland wood veneers! :)

hello!!
today i have a layout over on the Create a Smile blog! yay for layouts!! :) and of course i used some awesome WOW embossing powder! :) the Create a Smile team is so lucky to be able to work with the WOW embossing powders this month!

here's my layout!

so fun, right? ha ha ha!! it just makes me laugh! my littlest mann had the worst haircut ever a few weeks ago, and now, we're paying the price! lol! his cowlick is OUT OF CONTROL and i laugh all day! it's so funny, and i'll always remember this phase in his preschool years because of it! :)

i used some yellow WOW embossing powder to add color to the wood veneers, and i actually used 4 different stamp sets on this layout!

to see how it all came together, head over to the Create a Smile Stamps blog! and don't forget, you still have time to enter the December Guest Designer search!! :) there are only 3 enteries - WHAT?!?! so your chances are pretty good!

enjoy!

inky paws challenge - add a little sparkle!

hello!
today kicks off the new Inky Paws Challenge on the Newton's Nook blog!! :)
this time, it's all about adding a little sparkle!

oh yeah! LOVE that photo!!
i decided to go the Christmas route with my card, and i'm totally liking the result! :)

man,i really wish i had some big, chunky gold glitter!! this card was BEGGING for some! alas, it was not meant to me! :)
i used the new Holiday Hounds stamp set and coloring the little sweater pup with copics and then colored the sweater again and popped it up. i don't know why...but i did! i like it! ha!

to add some sparkle i used gold glitter tape to the bottom and top of the base of the card! those snowflakes were die cut from some incredible silver foil paper - SO FUN!!

ok, now it's your turn! what is your favorite way to add sparkle to your cards? i must confess, usually i use wink of stella, but i was trying something else this time! ha!
i can't wait to see what you create! :)
enjoy!

wishing you were here!

good morning!!
the temperatures are finally starting to cool down here...i'm talking 80 degrees and below people. don't get too excited for me. ha ha! but even that is better than 90, 100 or 100 plus degrees, so i'll take it! :)

today i have a card on the Newton's Nook blog!! and i'm SUPER excited to share it! i LOVE how it turned out!! :)
i used three NND sets for this card!! :)

yay!! love it? i hope so!! i turned the little snowmen from Flaky Family into sandmen at the beach! it seemed only fitting since it's always HOT here in SC (did i mention that before...?) and we live so close to the beach! :) i also used the sandcastle from the summer set Newton's Summer Vacation!! LOVE!

I stamped the images onto patterned paper, and then added shading with copic markers. th snowmen are popped up with foam tale, and i added a little...i don't know, mast (?) to the castle with stars to represent some lights, or a tree...something else christmas-y! :)

and then, for the background, i used the awesome wave stencil and transluscent embossing paste colored with tumbled glass distress ink! :) the base of the card was sprayed with mist to sparkle, too!
the sentiment was created by mixing one from Newton's Summer Vacation and part of a sentiment from Winston's Home for Christmas! :)

thanks for stopping by! and make sure you head over to the Newton's Nook blog for lots of extra information!
enjoy!

lawnscaping challenge - halloween theme and/or color challenge!

well hello!
it's monday! and monday's are wonderful, because they usually mean it's a new lawnscaping challenge! yahoo!

and the challenge this week is...

that's right! you can EITHER make a halloween card, a card with the challenge colors (purple, orange and black) or a combination of both!

lawn fawn has been rocking the halloween sets for a few years, and even so - it's FUN to make halloween cards out of non-halloween sets, too! :)

for my card, i used the new spooktacular set! i just think it's SO adorable! super cutesy and FUN (love the sentiments!)!

so here it is:

i colored all of the little bats (seriously - cute, right!?) and the witches hat with copics! i popped a few of them up with foam tape for dimension along the banner!

and i LOVE that banner! i used distress inks to create it: spiced marmalade, dried maragold and rusty hinge! love the ombre of oranges, totally spooky sky!  then i used this amazing stencil and some white embossing paste to create the starry background! then before the paste dried, i added some white sparkle embossing powder to add some shine! :)

so that's my card!
are you ready to play along?
for even more inspiration (if you can stand it!), check out the lawnscaping facebook page! we're dedicated to keeping your creative juices flowing! :)

this week we're sponsored by lawn fawn! so get your card making on, and you could win a stamp set of your choice! :)

you got me love struck

hello!!

happy saturday! i hope everyone is having an awesome day! :)

today i was able to make a few cards - yay! always fun!!
this card was made (last minute, much?! ha ha!) for the paper smooches sparks picture perfect challenge!!

i super, puffy heart LOVE that image!! the flowers are so pretty together, i just LOVE the color palette! and the woodgrain...yes please!!

so for my card, i decided to use the colors and woodgrain, but not flowers...i hope that works still!!

i used the love struck stamp set, and paper pieced the heck right out of those arrows!! ha ha!! i used ALL of the arrows in the set! i really liked how they all went together with the different sized 'feathers' and colors! i don't know how many different papers i used...there's also some pink vellum in there, too!  and course all of the arrows are 'stuck' in the woodgrain! :)

for the sentiment, inlaid the word 'love' from love word die! i also added some picket fence distress glitter, to make it stand out a little more! the second half of the sentiment is also from the love struck stamp set, and it was heat embossed in white, right onto the woodgrain washi! :)

so that's my card!
hope it made you smile!
enjoy!

ok, here's my first card:

i guess you could say i was feeling nostalgic when i created this card! ha ha! i colored in the image with tons of distress marker browns! i added some details to the presents and a tiny bit of shading, but mostly it was light.

i used the INCREDIBLE star background stencil and gold embossing pate for the stars! i used some fun map paper for the background and distressed the edges first. the sled was poppped up for dimension and i think this little scene is so sweet to remember Christmas's past!

my second card is the opposite!

i used copic coloring on the image and popped the whole thing up for dimension! i LOOOOOVE it! the 'world' is from some patterned paper, and i just trimmed along it to create the sense that these two little critters were helping santa deliver presents! love it!

i also added extra details to the packages with my white gel pen! so easy to do!

this set is perfect for scrapbooking your holiday memories, doing a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards!! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on October 17th, right here!

ok, here's my first card:

i decided to keep it clean and simple! i used some transluscent embossing paste and a confetti stencil from Studio Calico, that i really think can give off that 'bokeh' effect, slightly! :)

i colored the image in with copcics and then popped it up for dimenstion! then i used a strip of woodgrain paper for the sentiment, which was heat embossed (awesome sentiment!) and popped up the whole panel for extra dimension! :) i used wink of stella and glossy accents on the ornaments, too! how could i resist!?

for my second card, i went with the non-traditional christmas colors!

i used this AMAZING patterned paper (which is actually from a halloween collection!) and heat embossed in clear some more of the stars from the set! i thought it added a little extra something! :)

newton and the moon (and santa and his sleigh!) were heat embossed in black onto watercolor paper! i used my distress markers to color in the scene and then popped it all up onto some gold thread!
the sentiment banner was distressed to match the moon! and i just happened to have the PERFECT complimenting star washi!! i think this is my favorite card of the bunch!
love love love!!!!

first, i stamped the puppy and kitty snow pets onto some glitter cardstock. BEST IDEA EVER!! ha ha!
then i added some small details of color (like the rosy cheeks, muzzle and ears) with some copics. i popped up both snow pets onto a vellum banner!

the background paper is my favorite part! i LOVE the teals and greens and winter mountain side! i used some silver sparkle twine to attach the banner to the card and then some pearls were added to the card to resember some snow! oh, and masked a few sentiments from the set and heat embossed them onto the banner, as well! so sweet! i love this!

my second card really is cute, at least i think so! ha ha!

i copic colored my own famly of snow people!! LOOOOOVE this!
all of the accessories were colored and cut and then adehered to the snowmenn! and then i thought it would super sweet to gather around the sentiment!

i heat embossed the sentiment in balck and used some super great navy polka dotted patterend paper for the card background! i relaly love this! (and full disclosure here: mostly because it's my family! lol!)

ok, here's my first card:

i totally saw that pup in a stocking and i HAD to make the word 'JOY'! it was too perfect!!
i paper pieced the little fella and then popped up the head and paw for some dimension. i also added the santa hat and some super festive (read: glittery!) thickers to finish the sentiment.

and the background! i heat embossed in clear that little bone image from the set to add a little interest to the card without being too busy! and then i popped up that panel and added some matching green glitter tape  around the middle of the card. fun!

oh, and my second card...i really love it!

i paper pieced the puppy again, and popped him up over some white polka dotten vellum that i die cut into rolling hills. i added a very little bit of the iced spruce distress ink to make the sentiment POP!

the sentiment was heat embossed with silver pearl WOW embossing powder onto the vellum, and finally i added some splatters of perfect pearls to the background! isn't this so sweet!! and of course, it uses my FAVORITE senitment from the set!
