Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #23 - Try a New Technique!
yahooo! it's time for a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
yay!! what a fun way to push yourself to try something new!
eeeeek!! sooooo sweet, right?! I hope!!
I tried to create a Northern Lights background!! and it was also my first time using Distress Oxide Inks on black!
I started by using a paintbrush and some black gesso! so fun!!!
then I colored in the cute little image from Upon a Star that I colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out!
once the black gesso was dry, I tore a piece of typing paper and used it as a mask to create the 'northern lights'. I used a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks to swoosh along and the moved the mask down the black area.
Once that was done, I used the Snowy Backdrop die, die cut a piece of cardstock, and used the cardstock as a stencil with white embossing paste on the background! LOVE the texture it adds!
Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment from Plane and Simple in white onto a banner of black cardstock!
oh, i really can't WAIT for you to play along! you could win a $25 gift certificate to Lawn Fawn!!!!
enjoy!

hello again!!
it's an incredible day...it's Sweet Stamp Shop's February release, and I am in LOVE with it!
eeeee!!
my favorite stamps sets are the Face of Love and Pour Decisions sets!! but they're seriously ALL amazing, and so versatile!
the illustrations on the Face of Love set are just INCREDIBLE!!
I colored all of the images with Copic Markers! and then I made this card:
eeeek!! such an ADORABLE card for Valentine's Day, or an anniversary, or just because!
I did some Distress Ink blending with Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold to create the background and then popped up the two heads! so sweet!
here's my card with Pour Decisions...LOVE!
I started with a piece of white cardstock, ink blended around the edges with Distress Oxide Black Soot, and then used some white gesso, to add the bright whiteness to the middle of the card!
LOOOOOOOVE these fruity drinks!!!! I'll take one of each please! ha!
the last card I made with this release uses the Weather Plans set:
which is just ADORABLE!
I looooove those clouds!!
anyone else get down to some 80's music every once in a while?! this song was totally stuck in my head the whole time I was making this card! ha ha! LOOOOOOVE this!!!
So what's your favorite set being released? Let me know, I want to know! ha!

Newton's Nook Designs February Release - Woof Pack Stamp Set
wow! and just like that, we're on the last day of Newton's Nook Designs February release!
and oh my gosh you guys...this release is so completely amazing! I can't wait for you to fall in love with these pups like me!
today we're focusing on the Woof Pack Stamp Set!
you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on February 16th, right here!
here's my first card:
eeeeee!
Ok, so I stamped the whole image in a light grey Ink, twice. I made the first stamped image my card base, and then used the second one to die cut out the heart using the Darling Hearts Die set, and selectively color in the three pups!!
(this card is for my mom to give to her besties, and TWO of these dogs I colored look JUST LIKE her friends' dogs! amazing!)
I popped up the heart and then framed the whole card with the edge of the Frames and Flags large die! I had added color to it by watercoloring with Distress Oxides in rainbow shades! then I heat embossed the sentiment in black on top of the image! so fun!
my second card uses a bunch of the images that are fussy cut out in a big cluster!
aw, I just love those pups!
everything was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once the image was fussy cut out, I popped it up with foam tape.
the background was created using the Pawprints stencil and white embossing paste. after I spread the paste and lifted the stencil, I shook embossing glitter on top and let it all dry. once it was dry, I used my heat gun to melt the powder. LOVE the texture and glitter it adds!

Newton's Nook Designs February Release - Company of Cats Stamp Set
and oh my gosh you guys...this release is so completely amazing! and these kitties...eee!! adorable!
today we're focusing on the Company of Cats Stamp Set!
you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on February 16th, right here!
here's my first card:
I used just a partial little swoop of the image to make a clean and simple card! I stamped the image and then used the Land Border Dies to cut out the fun shape!
i colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then added some pink cheeks and white dots...because I literally can't stop myself! lol!
I seriously LOVE the different personalities of these cats! they're so adorable!
for my second card, I also used a partial part of the whole stamp image:
eeeek! love how different these two cards are with the same large image set!
I used the top two rows of cats and fussy cut them out!
Then for the bottom half of the card, I ink blended with Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves.
I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it on the bottom, and love how it pops!
