Newton's Nook Designs - Holiday Release Day 1

yay!! i have good news for you, on this monday morning:

it's the start of Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release!! and let me tell you...these 5 (yes, 5!!!) sets are incredible! i had so much fun with them, i made two cards for each day this week!!

today's set is called Winston's Home for Christmas. and i just LOVE these little moments that are shown! they are perfect for scrapbooking your holiday memories, doing a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards!! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on October 17th, right here!

ok, here's my first card :

so fun! i used a city map stencil in gold (hello! gold and christmas are perfect together, right?) and then added a layer of vellum on top! the image was colored with copics, and then i heat embossed the sentiment in black, so it really POPs!!

i also added a wood veneer to the front of the car and added some stickles and glossy accents!

my second card is super fabulous!

i colored winston in with copics and stamped the setniment onto a wood veneer! the base of the card was sprayed with frost and shimmer so it is super sparkly (and not just plain white!). i think shimmer is totally needed with holiday cards!

i tied a red ribbon around the text cardstock and added a few wood veneer dots, and called it a day!

miss you mucho

happy saturday!
i'm hoping to get some crafty time in as soon as my littlest mann goes down for a nap...fingers crossed! lol!

today i'm sharing a card i made for the most recent Mama Elephant and Me challenge! LOOOOVE mama elephant and LOOOOOOVE the challenge! FUN!
this month the theme is anything goes - nothing easier than that!

i decided to make a 'miss you' card!

for the background panel first i used some transluscent embossing paste that i colored with two different Heidi Swapp sprays to get the perfect cool aqua color! once that was dry, i used chipped sapphire and evergreen bough distress inks to create the night sky. and then flicked it with some water!

LOVE how the background turned out!
i colored the little girl with copics and popped her up on top of the vellum banner (the sentiment was heat embossed). both the image and the sentiment are from the In My Heart stamp set. i just LOVE those little kiddos in the set!!

so that's my card! i'm hoping to play along again! we'll see what this weekend brings! ha ha!
thanks for stopping by and enjoy!

little tangles is having an anything goes challenge (in honor or World Card Making Day last saturday)! challenge accepted! ha ha!

and also, check out this amazing photo inspiration from the runway inspired challenge

oh gosh! i love! i love the colors, the white space and all of the 'splatter-y' looking things behind the model! so cool!!

so here's my card, with those challenges in mind:

so fun!
i took my gold dellicata ink pad and swiped it along in the bottom left corner of some white cardstock. i looooooove the brush stroke look you get when you do that! i stamped the sentiment from neat and tangled's everyday labels stamp set and popped them up with some foam tape! SUCH A VERSITLE SET! love it!

that panel was then popped up over some bold black and white diagnol striped paper from my stash and then i added some more gold splatters and black splatters! and finally a few gold sequins finished it off!

so fun, right? i really LOVE how this card turned out!
enjoy!

today i have another card on the Create a Smile Stamps blog

LOVE!!
it's a shaped, gift card holder card! oh yeah - i'm so busy, even my CARD is multitasking! ha ha! :)

i cut the shape out from my silhouette! and then i stamped the SUPER ADORABLE snowflakes from the Smiling Snowflakes onto the card! (i also stamped them onto white cardstock to copic color the centers and then fussy cut them out and attached to the card).

The coffee cozy was covered in mustard seed and barn door distress paint and then popped up! and i used lots and lots of WOW white embossing powder to completly cover the top and sentiment! :) i created the sentiment by combining Penguin Party and Cool buddies!

i LOOOOOOOVED coloring the snowflakes in reds and oranges!! totally unexpected and FUN! :)

so that's my card!
and believe me when i say that you are going to want to pop over to the Create a Smile Stamps blog for an awesome giveaway! yes!

today i have a card on the create a smile blog in anticipation of this very cute, very unique and very INCREDIBLE release!

love it!!
those snowflakes from Smiling Snowflakes
COULD
NOT
BE
CUTER!!

i heat embossed the snowflakes in the Earthtone Pepper embossing powder. then used tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress inks to add the blue color!  loooooooooove how it turned out!! i also added some water droplets to the ink to add to the winter-y, wonder-y snow-y-ness of the blue background! :)

then i added the sentiment onto a strip of vellum and heat embossed that in white. i just added a few white enamel dots for a little extra dimension, and that's the card!

make sure you head over to the Create a Smile Stamps blog to see even MORE inspiration! and in case you missed it, here is a video that shows all of the new release!!

lawnscaping challenge - patterned paper

yahoo!!!! today is a new Lawnscaping Challenge!
and this one is something i should have NO trouble with (considering all of the paper packs i have...)

yay! and even though this challenge should be a breeze...i stil struggled!! how did that happen? i think i just lost my mojo for a bit...that's the worst! i hate that! lol! i actually made 3 cards for this challenge, but didn't like any of them! (gasp!) so i chose the least 'blargh' one to share! ha ha!

i used the very adorable Snow Day set from Lawn Fawn! those bunnies...TOO CUTE!! eek! i love them! i paper pieced them, and even added some puffy tails with a pen that sort of makes things look like snow when it's heat set. :)

i used a woodgrain tag from my stash, and added some of lawn fawn's strips in a diaganol just for fun! the papers are all from the Snow Day 6x6 paper pack. then i splattered and enamel dott-ed the base and that was it!

what do you think? i don't know...i love it...but i'm not in love with it. ha ha!
oh well! it's all good! it will still make someone happy when i send it to them in december! :) and that's all that matters!

ok, so now it's your turn! :) i really hope you join in on the fun with this challenge!!
for even more inspiration (if you can stand it!), check out the lawnscaping facebook page! they're dedicated to keeping your creative juices flowing! :)
what's the worst that could happen? you could wi

the card is also for another challenge going on at moxie fab world! CHECK OUT THIS PHOTO!!

seriously...i could NOT love it more! the colors...the shapes...swoon. i want that. and i want everything i ever make to look like that! ha!

enough of my blabbering, here's my card:

so FUN, right?! i used an older lawn fawn set: critters in the sea. seriously, this is one of my favorite set, i LOVE those little swimmers! so adorable!

i colored all of the images with copcis and popped them up with foam tape. and for the diaganol line, i used some transluscent embossing paste and this awesome stencil from memory box called texture wave!

i love the pops of color (i tried to use all of the colors in the photo), on that white background. and the texture and clear waves, oh yeah! love how this turned out!

so make sure you play along (you still have time!)
thanks again for stopping by! :)
enjoy!
