lawnscaping challenge - try something new!

good morning! and happy monday!
it's a new day, and a new week, and a new challenge over at the lawnscaping blog! :)

and who doesn't love trying something new? i LOVE trying new things!

for my card i used one of the sets from the most recent lawn fawn release - hello sunshine
i think that stramp set is so lovely! those little birds couldn't be any cuter!

i don't know what my new technique is called, but what i did was distress inked over a stencil and then did a little distress ink bleed.

first i used a stencil and some distress inks to create the rainbow pattern on some watercolor paper. i masked off areas of the stencil at a time so i could use the different colors.

then i removed the stencil and sprayed with some water. hello - bleed! i think it's SOOOOO pretty!

i didn't want to cover up the awesome rainbow background so i stamped the polaroid from say cheese onto some vellum, cut it out and adheared it with staples to the card!  the birds were also colored with distress ink and then popped up for dimension.

add a few pearls and the card is complete!

ok, so now it's your turn! :) i really hope you join in on the fun with this challenge!!

what's the worst that could happen? you could win a gift certificate to simon says stamp! hello!!

happy friday!!

this hop is sponsored by the awesome spectrum noir makers! and we're focusing on the colors, yellow and green (totally fitting for march, i think!!).

and guess what? you could win a set of the markers! awesome!!!! be sure to leave a comment on every blog for your chance to win!

onto my card!!
i finally played with the super adorable let's roll stamp set!! i just think that sushi is SO CUTE!!

i colored in the adorable sushi rolls, and i just think they are so fun! i pooped up the sushi and gave them all their own faces!

i was going for a bamboo tray, so after i had colored it in the yellows and added the shading, i stamped over it with the woodgrain image from woodgrain backdrops in old paper distress ink! i think that's SO fun!!

ok! next up, make your way to tracy's blog!! eek!! you're gonna think her card is FABULOUS!!

lawnscaping challenge - keep is simple silly

got a case of the mondays? let's change that with a new lawnscaping challenge! yahoo!
the challenge this time is all about CAS - swoon. one of my favorite styles ever!! :)

i had so much fun making this card!! i used some new releases from lawn fawn - guilty!! i had been wanting these new stamps for SO long, i have to get them all inky and used! lol! :)

my card today uses float my boat and the tiny little moon from starry backdrops! :)

i used my wave punch to create the vellum waves. and then i used some distress inks to add just a touch of color (salty ocean and peacock feathers)! LOOOOOOOOVE doing that! distress inks + vellum = my new obsession...eek! :)

the sailboat was barely colored with some copics (sails and red stripe) and the parts of it were popped up for some dimension. the moon was also stamped onto vellum and colored with the lemonade squeeze distress ink. :)

so that's it!

for even more inspiration (if you can stand it!), check out the lawnscaping facebook page! we're dedicated to keeping your creative juices flowing! :)

lawnscaping challenge - bling it on!

good morning! and happy monday!
it's a new day, and a new week, and a new challenge over at the lawnscaping blog! :)

i think everyone is really going to like this one...it's all about sparkle, shine and blinging out your card!! :)

well, i have been waiting and waiting for the new lawn fawn release, so when my package came in the mail, i knew i had to play with it right away!! :)

the sentiment is the scripty hello die, which i die cut out multiple times and then glued together to create a faux chipboard look! :) i acually used my white glitter tape to make it all sparkly! i just lined up a 3 strips of the tape onto some thin cardstock, then put the die on top and die cut it out! and just like that - i have a glittery sentiment! :)

oh, and the background!! i used a stencil and sprayed a heavy layer of the shine spray from studio calico! i LOVE that in a sunburst!! when you look at the card from the side, you can't see it, but straight on and whoosh!! you have some shine!! :)

the cutest little birds EVER were all colored with copic and popped up, from the hello sunshine stamp set!

so that's my card! i LOVE it! and i love lawn fawn's latest release! what's your favorite product from the release?

ok, so now it's your turn! :) i really hope you join in on the fun with this challenge!!

lawnscaping challenge - dust 'em off!

mid-february already!! gone are the pink and red decorataions! hello green and white and shamrock shakes!! lol!
it also means there's a new lawnscaping challenge!
this challenge is all about using a lawn fawn product that you forgot about, or don't use very often! it's hard to believe such a thing exists with lawn fawn! but it does! lol!

i LOVE anything lawn fawn - but sometimes, i just can't get the mojo flowing for certain stamp sets! lol! for example - sharp backdrops! i LOVE it! it's bold and graphic and trendy and awesome!

and i have never used it! lol!! until today!

i inked it up with some versamark ink all over the background panel of my card. then i heat embossed it in clear and painted over the whole thing in a rainbow pattern with my mists!! so FUN! :)

i decided to use the critters ever after set...what's better than a rainbow mythical creatures mashup, right?the sentiment was also heat embossed, but this time in white over some vellum and the the little unicorn was just too cute and perfect with a rainbow background to pass up! i even added a touch of wink of stella glitter to the horn!

so that's it! and as you can see, my love affair with vellum continues! :)

you should have arrived here by way of the lawnscaping challenge blog! if not, head on over there to get started!!

so are you ready for my card? i LOVE it!
(it uses what is becoming one of my new FAVORITE sets from lawn fawn!)

i used the happy feast stamp set and colored the corn in some lovey-dovey colors with my copics! :) (pink husks on the corn makes me smile! ha ha!)

i pieced the sentiment together with the two speech bubbles from the a birdie told me stamp set! i love this! it makes me laugh and smile (yellow, pinks and greys happen to be some of my all time favorite color combinations!) and i can't wait for my little mann to open this card!
spoiler alert: i already know what he's going to say, he's 5 and thinks he knows everything! he's going to say 'corn is not pink! why did you color it pink?' lol! sigh. hopefully he'll laugh anyway! :)

so that's it! next on the hop is Tracy - and i just know she's going to have a brilliant card! (she always does!)

lawnscaping challenge - hearts and dots!

happy monday! ready to start your week off with a super fun challenge? greatt! it's time for a brand new lawnscaping challenge!! :)
and i LOVE this one!

hearts and dots! what's not to love?!

i used two lawn fawn stamp sets and one of their die sets! ready to see?

the cloud image is from the bon voyage stamp set and the teeny, tiny sentiment is from the happy feast sentiment!! LOVE that little set! :)
i heat embossed the sentiment onto some vellum that i cut to look like a banner over my many layers of cardstock!

and i just could NOT resist an aqua/gold color combination! i LOVE it! the the gold hearts were die cut with the hearts die and stuck onto the vellum. they are super gold because i smeared some delicata golden glitz ink pad onto paper before i die cut them out. swoon - now that's gold! :)

so now it's your turn! :) i really hope you join in on the fun with this challenge!!

lawnscaping challenge - inspired by!

i love mondays! they usually mean it's time for a new lawnscaping challenge! and today is one of those great days!
the new challenge this time is all about inspriration! and more importantly, being inspired by one of our very own lawnscaping desgin team members!! woah! how do you pick?!

i think that may have been my hardest challenge...narrowing it down to one card from one person! lol!!

but manage i did! (what a great problem to have, right?!) i chose this stellar card from Christiana ! i love that crocodile image and the bokeh and the happiness card that whole card exudes!!

and here's my card:

i decided to CAS her card! i colored in the crocodile (from critters down under) with some copics and popped him up for dimension!
the bokeh was created with the oh so FUN gold delicata ink pad! i used three different sized heart shapes and stamped them directly and one off multiple times for the background! :)
the hearts were from peace love joy, into the woods, and summertime charm.

then i had some fun! lol! i added some die cut vellum to mimic waves and very ligthly colored the top edges with distress ink! um, people - i'm in LOVE! lol!!

so that's it! and as you can see, my love affair with vellum continues! :)

lawnscaping challenge - it's our birthday!

and we'll craft if we want to!! :)
it's so exciting!! it's a brand new year!! it's a brand new challenge and it's a brand new birthday for the lawnscaping challenge blog!! :)
insert balloons, streamers and kazoo's here!! :)

in the spirit of all of this celebratory fun, the challenge this time is to create a birthday themed project!!

i used lots of different lawn fawn stamps for my card, and i love how it turned out! :)

i created a little snapshot of a puppy's birthday party! lol!
this card was made for a friend! and see that cute as can be boxer? (from the critters at the dog park stamp set) i made it look just like her dog by paper piecing!! it was so fun!! usually i think i have to color the animals to get them to look just right, but in this case, the paper piecing worked perfectly! i love how she turned out!!

i also fussy cut and paper pieced the rest of the images too! the balloons (from admit one) were made shiny with some glossy accents! the sentiment is from happy everything (a PERFECT sentiment set for year round usage!) stamped onto a speech bubble from a birdie told me!

i LOOOVE that slice of cake in the dog bowl! it's from the year three stamp set! the CUTEST mini set ever! lol! :)

so that's it! hope it made you smile! and most of all, i hope it made you want to join in on the fun with this challenge!!

i colored in the little owl (LOOOOOVE this image!! it's from winter owl stamp set!) with some copics and then popped him up over some beautiful large snowflakes! the snowflakes are from the frosties stamp set - and were colored with copics as well!

the sentiment is snuggled into the thinking bubble from the a birdie told me stamp set.
oh, and i almost forgot to mention - the background of the card is some embossing paste meets houndstooth stencil! FUN!! it totally makes the scene look like a blustery day to me! :)

do you notice those little reindeer antlers on him?! lol! those are actually snowman arms from making frosty friends! lol!! love it! and of course a little red enamel dot for the nose!

in addition to making frosty friends, the stamp sets i used were critters at the dog park, cozy christmas, say cheese and bows and holly (for the word 'happy' in the sentiment).
