spring fling butterflies

hello!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics challenge blog and it's got that spring vibe!

the current challenge is all about Spring and all the good times that go with it!
I couldn't resist making another card with the adorable new butterflies!

I stamped the images from I Like Big Butterflies and All the Clouds. they were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then I added some details with a white gel pen. once everything was dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.
I also sprinkled some white acrylic ink on the clouds, too.

for the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers.
once I finished ink blending, I put the Sunray Background Stencil on top and spritzed with water. I love the subtle look of the rays!
then I die cut out the clouds for the top and bottom of the card using the Puffy Cloud Borders from white cardstock. I popped them up with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment onto the bottom cloud in black ink.
the butterflies were popped up with foam tape, and the stamped clouds were attached directly to the background.

I love the spring theme!

swinging i like big butterflies card

I'm so excited to share that today I have this fun, interactive card up on the Lawn Fawn blog!

I had so much fun making this spring-themed card!
I combined some new and old products and had so much fun making them all work together!
I stamped the images from I Like Big Butterflies, Gleeful Gardens, Fairy Friends and Capybaras! Add-on. I colored them all in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I also added some details with a white gel pen. Once everything was dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

I used some of the Gleeful Gradients Petite Paper Pack for the background. Then I die cut out some of the Puffy Cloud Borders from white cardstock, and popped it up with foam tape. To make the little butterfly holding the flower swing, I attached it to a strip of acetate. The acetate was then added to the patterned paper (under the cloud border) with a tiny brad. I love the butterfly swinging back and forth! It's such a fun detail!

For the bottom of the card, I used lots of the grass images and flowers, along with a few of the snails from Gleeful Gardens, to really add to the springtime feel of the card!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto white cardstock. Then I did some ink blending with Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. I fussy cut it out and attached it to the card. I finished off the card with a little bit of glitter on the butterfly wings and snail shells with some Stickles!

Newton's Nook April Release - Lattice Die

I am in LOVE with this new die - and I can't wait to make more and more cards with it!!

I was totally channeling my inner "spring garden' theme with this card!

I stamped the images from the Monarchs Stamp Set and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once the images were all dry, I splattered some white acrylic ink on top!
I die cut out the butterflies with their coordinating dies, and I also used the dies to die cut some vellum, and layered the butterflies on top of the vellum layer!

for the background, it was a little time consuming, but super worth it!
using white cardstock, I inkblended with Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron to cover the entire A2 sized card base. then I used the Trailing Leaves Stencil and the same colors, but with MORE pressure.
next, I die cut out the background with the new Lattice Die Set!

all of the squares were popped up with foam tape! so much dimension and fun!
I finished the card off by heat embossing the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock.

this spring release is allllll about happy, fresh and breezy!

I LOOOOOOVE these products today!
my first card uses the new Hyacinth set - and it's (almost!!) a one layer!

 

I stamped the images onto the background of the card front in Distress Oxide Inks. I used Wilted Violet to stamp the blooms and Mowed Lawn to stamp the stem and flowers. then I used the same colors, with the addition of Milled Lavender to ink blend around the stamped images.

I splattered some of the ink colors around, as well. then I heat embossed the sentiment in black onto vellum and trimmed it to a banner! then I used my sewing machine to stitch the banner on. 

I finished off the card by adding a bunch of sequins!  

my next card uses the new Daisies die set!

so pretty!
I die cut everything from white cardstock, and did lots of ink blending! I used Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold for the blooms. Pine Needles, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron for the stems and leaves. and a little Mustard Seed for the centers! then I splattered everything with white acrylic ink.

I heat embossed the sentiment from Spring Roundabout in white onto some vellum and cut it to the shape of a banner along the bottom of the card.

for the background, I used white embossing paste and the Trailing Leaves stencil! love that little bit of subtle texture.

this spring release is allllll about happy, fresh and breezy!
I used the new Easter Postage Sampler Stamp Set for my first card!

I stamped the images and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once the imges were all dry, I added some details with a white gel pen and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. except I didn't use this set in the traditional way! I thought it would be SO SWEET to pair those tulips with the fun Spring Garden Line Stencil! tulips on tulips on tulips!! 

for the background, I ink blended the stencils with Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold for the tulip blooms and Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the grass and stems and Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed for the sky).

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some white cardstock, and then used the same greens to ink blending the strip of cardstock and popped it up with foam tape! and I finished the card by splattering some green ink on the bottom of the card.

my next card uses the Easter Postage Samper set and the new Happy Easter dies!

again, the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut out. I popped them up against the vellum banner that was die cut with the Basic Frames dies. I also popped up the phrase with foam tape after die cutting the words from various shades of pink cardstock.

 

 

for the background, I used the Bunny Tails Stencil set with Distress Inks in Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo for the bunnies andwhite embossing paste for the tails. all of that is on top of a soft kraft cardstock.

 

 

I finished off the card by tying a bow in pink and white twine across the banner! so sweet!

rainy day wishes

hello and happy monday!
it's the first day of Spring Break for my (not-so) littles so we're all taking it easy while we rejoice in the long break from Biology! lol!! what a hard class!! lol!

and even better - I have this card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog today!

I just looooove these sweet images from the Newton's Rainy Day and Newton's Rain Boots stamps sets! I stamped and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut out MOST of the images! one of the extra little ducklings I added from the Newton's Rain Boots set needed to be fussy cut. I also added some details with a white gel pen

I used Distress Inks in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina on white cardstock. then I used the NEW Frames & Tags Die Set to die cut it out! I added a strip of foam tape to the borders. and the inside panels were inlaid! love the dimension.

in the background, I added some subtle tone-on-tone texture with white embossing paste and the Raindrops stencil. and then I heat embossed the sentiment in white!

love how sweet and adorable this card is with the bright, happy umbrella!
