Newton's Nook Designs September Release - Apple Delights

*sniff sniff*
it's the last day of newton's nook's release for september!

the good news is: all of the new sets will be available for purchase on September 19th, here!

today we're sharing the
Apple Delights mini set! it's super sweet and totally makes me think of fall, and apple cider, and mmm, warm donuts! lol!

i decided it would be fun to ppaer piece! i LOVE my copics and watercoloring, but sometimes it's nice to paper piece too, right?

i used white embossing paste onto the white background for the crisp and clean feel, which i thought would go perfectly with the apples!

the sentiment was stamped onto some vellum and that's it! LOVE those caramel colored apples! i want to take take a bite! lol!

my next card is more fall, and warm and makes me wish i could put a sweater on! (it's still in the 90's here, and SUPER humid! so making these cards was a nice escape!)

i created the backtround with hero arts pale tomato and soft sand onto some khaki paper and the smallest of the apple stamps! :) my favorite is that some of the red apples were stamped upside down!
then i used some distress inks on the edges and popped up the apple for extra dimension!

the dark woodgrain banner was added and then i stitched along the edges!

you are awesome, so RELAX!

**this is my 2nd post of the day!! to see my card for the latest Inky Paws challenge over at Newton's Nook, scroll down, or click here**

hey there, fancy meeting you here! :)

today i am over on the Create a Smile blog! and i have a super zen, super relaxing and super spa like card! :)

have you checked out the stamps yet? they're amazing! two brand new stamp sets were released this month, and they're so cute and perfect!

i used both sets for my card today: comfy and friends in the woods! :)

it just makes you want to say, ahhhhh, right? ha ha!

i watercolored all of the images with distress markers, and then i did some creative fussy cutting on the kitty so it looked like she was just relaxing on the side of the tub! lol! i just LOVE it! the kitty is popped up over the tub, though it's hard to see the dimension in this picture.

then i made some banners for the sentiment, that i also added color to via distress markers and watercoloring, and then stitched them onto the card panel.

the sentiment was created with a combination of phrases from both new stamp sets! :)

lastly i added just a tiny bit of wink of stella glitter to thebubbles, they needed some shine! :)

so hop over and follow the Create a Smile blog if you want to hear more about me and the card!
enjoy!

xoxo - vellum and distress inks

good morning!
i thought i'd pop in real quick and share a card i made for a few challenges!

the current little tangles challenge is all about stencils! and so am i! so i had to play along! :)

and just take a look at this GORGEOUS runway inspired photo inspiration! LOVE it!
greys, and yellows and layers - yes please!!!

now, on to the card, shall we?

eek! i love it! so fun!
i took some patterened paper vellum (it had the light grey bursts on it) and cut it a few times, at different angles, and then layered it all together! i LOVE vellum, and i love the look of stitching, and vellum and stitching ROCK together, so i totally stitched it all together at the top of the card!

then i used my heidi swapp polka dot stencil to then add even MORE pattern onto the layered vellum! i made went from darker to lighter (going left to right) and i think it adds SO much, and totally mimics the pattern on the dress! (i don't LOVE flower images...so i went circles and sun bursts! lol)

finally i watercolored the sweet song bird image popped it up for dimension! it's hard to tell, but the belly of the bird is a soft blue. and i stamed the sentiment with staz-on ink, also from the my heart sings stamp set! one of my first and faves from neat and tangled! :)

so that's my card! i totally love it!
and i hope it made you smile, and perhaps next time you'll add some distress ink to vellum. LOVE that look! i could do it all day!

enjoy!
