a little card smore you

he he he...

i made this card for the eitsy inspired challenge this week (inspiration photo below from the BeiLexian shop), as well as for the wee memories challenge (which is a free for all challenge - make anything you want!).

i used the milk glass from lawn fawn's cozy christmas, and re-invented it as a marshmallow again! but this time the marshmallows are on their way to a smore party! :)

i used the edge of one (of my many!) moving boxes to make the 'graham cracker'. andi used two pieces of kraft cardstock with foam tape to separate (so it looks 3-d) for the chocolate. the marshmallow men are (of course) the milk glass, with the tops cut off! i just think it's so cute (or should i say, sweet!).

enjoy!

spreading some joy

what a great card i have to share today! it makes me smile, it's bright and light and happy! ok, enough, on to the card!

i made this card for the 2 sketches 4 you challenge (see below) and the etsy inpsired challenge (my inspiration project from capturing creativity is also below):

+

ok, and 2s4y + etsy inspiration = my card!

isn't it happy! i know it's a little nutty to use a thank you card as the inspiration and then make a christmas card, but those colors were just too vibrant and happy - i had to use them for christmas!
i cut out a circle and put all different shapes/sizes of red buttons below to show through. and then i made that "O" an ornament (i used some black metal wire i had). i stamped the "J" and "Y" in black and then went over them with some black glitter, just to make them stand on their own a little more.

i used my circle punch to create the 'scallops' and then some red ribbon down the middle makes it look like a present!

so that's it! i hope it made you smile too!
enjoy!

some etsy inspired baby fun

the latest challenge over at etsy inspired is featuring the etsy store 'two eggplants' which makes the cutest little soap you've ever seen! lol! who knew soap could be so fun? i saw this polka dotted soap of little animals, and had a fun idea for a baby card!

i decided to go with neutrals for this card (not earthy neutrals - lol! clearly, this is a bright and happy card!), since i'll just have it on standby to send to someone in the future and it can be for a baby girl or baby boy.

the polka dots from the inspiration item were transformed into the sentiment and background of the card. and thn the little birdie is of course an animal, so there you go! i embossed the bird, and then flocked his tummy so it's nice and soft! perfect for babies! i used two different sized green ribbons for the border of the middle of the card, which is super fun! and the little bow at the bottom just completes the card: babies, birds, and bows! :)

i also popped up the sentiment dots and the little bird. you know how i love to add dimension!

i like that this card is clean and happy and bright!
enjoy!

etsy inspired

i made this card for the challenge over at the etsy inspired challenge blog! they pick an etsy shop and the challenge is to make a project using those goods as inspriation. this week, the featured seller is 'the caged fairy' - and i have to say, i wanted to buy almost everything from this shop!! ha ha! i wished i could have created something that really reflected how much i loved all of the jewelry as much as i did, because i really loved it all!

anyway, on to my card! i used a ring as my inspiration. i mentioned in an earlier post that i am loving the color combination of orange-ies and teals. it makes me happy! so when i saw this ring, i not only wanted to own it, i knew it would be the perfect inspiration!

i decided to experiement with feathers...which is a lot harder (and fluffier - read: messier) than i thought! ha ha! first i used some glimmer mist to sparkle up the base of the card. then i used a hot glue gun to glue down the feathers. then i layered over some fat light teal ribbon. on top of that, i added some more black ribbon.

i added the red hearts because...well i add little hearts to almost everything i do! (look back at some of my older cards - it's like an eye spy of little hearts!) and i thought the dark red color was perfect to compliment and contrast with the card.

this challenge was so much fun! thanks for taking a gander!

enjoy!
