Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #106 - Sketch

happy Monday!

let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

yay!

 

this is always a challenge for me!
I love being inspired by sketches!
I decided to make a graduation card for my good friend's son! and BONUS: I have a video!

 

I used Distress Inks to ink blend on my card in Abandoned Coral and Dried Marigold along with the Plaid Stencils! then I did the packaging technique on top of it, in the same colors! so fun!

I colored all of the images from Push Here, Smart Cookie, Virtual Friends, Virtual Friends Add On and Screen Time with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then fussy cut them out! I punched some small holes in the computer and gaming console, for the lights to blink through - because OH YEAH, this card will light up!

the sentiment was created using a mix of Violet's ABCs and Milo's ABCs, as well as part of a phrase from Screen Time!

Newton's Nook Designs & Chibitronics Inspiration Week + GIVEAWAY

This week Newton's Nook Designs and Chibitronics are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to light up your cards using Chibi lights with Newton's Nook Designs stamps!

This is such a fabulous and FUN collaboration and I'm SOOOO excited to be part of the celebration! 
I really had SO MANY ideas for cards, but I couldn't shake the idea of making a rudolph nose glow, so forgive me for making a Christmas card is August! Ha!!

I created the background with Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks! Then I splattered some water and acrylic paing onto the background! You can't see it in this picture, but the bottom half of the card has a thin smear of embossing paste - no stencil! I stamped the paw print images directly into the paste when it was wet to look like paw prints in the snow!

And here it is all lit up!! AMAZING!! 
I also added a few stars to light up!!

I really had a BLAST making this card, and can't wait to make more! Here's one more look! I used the pup from Canine Christmas and the little sleigh image from Newton's Curious Christmas!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #2 - Interactive

yahooo! it's time for a NEW challenge on the block!!! and it's all about LAWN FAWN!!!!!

i'm still SO excited about this newest challenge on the block! and this time, it's SO FUN! we're all about INTERACTIVE cards! 

yay!!
these interactive cards are SO fun to make! i created a light up card with Chibitronics for graduation!

I used Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass to create the background, then colored and fussy cut out the light bulb from the Turn Me On mini set! the graduation hat is from the Smart Cookie stamp set and the sentiment is from the My Lucky Charm set! 

i heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock, and all of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

I stamped that CUUUUTE light switch to go right over the button to light up the card! SO FUN!
