hi there!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog, and it's always a pleasure and a treat to work with Lawn Fawn goodies!
and bonus!! I made a video!
you can check it out here, or my youtube channel!
I started by stamping all of the images from Ugly and Bright and then coloring them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! I used Strathmore Mixed Media Vellum Surface paper, and then heat set the stamped images before coloring.
Once everything was colored, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! So fun and easy!
I attached the Santa sweatshirt to the reindeer and the snowflake to the ‘grizzly’ bear with foam tape, for a bit of dimension.
I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto a strip of Black Licorice cardstock and the popped that up with foam tape too!
For the background, I used a piece of patterned paper from the Knit Picky 6x6 Paper Pad that was trimmed to 3 and 3/4 x 5 inches. I then used Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch to add some shading to the top and corners. Then I splattered some water and white acrylic ink on top, to mimic snow!
I die cut out some some snowy hills with the Stitched Hillside Borders dies and then attached it to the card front.
I trimmed another piece of white cardstock, also to 3 and 3/4 x 5 inches and then used the main part of the Flippy Flappy die set to die cut out the 3 sides of the rectangle with the scored lines. I also die cut out the pull tab with 110b cardstock, the white strip of cardstock to cover one of the flaps, and the flippy-uppy tab from clear acetate!
I followed the instructions on the intro video to create the card - SO easy.
I was totally intimidated to try to use the die set, but finally convinced myself to ‘be brave’ and it was WAY easier than I had anticipated! Lucky me! I’m so happy!
be sure to check out the card on the Lawn Fawn blog, and the video, too!
enjoy!
