Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Never Enough Books Stamp Set and coordinating Die Set, Bookmark II Die Set

welcome to the Newton's Nook Designs April release!

all of these new products are so fun!
and sooooo versatile!

my first project is a bookmark!

 

I die cut out the bookmark images, from the Bookmark II Die Set, multiple times from white cardstock. then I added a rainbow of colors with various colors of Distress Oxide Inks! then I added some white splatters all over! 

I die cut the bookmark itself two times: once with white cardstock and once in vellum. I used the Trailing Leaves stencil and some Black Soot Distress Inks to add some pops of contrast to the background!

 

I heat embossed the sentiment from the new Never Enough Books stamp set in white onto black cardstock.  

my second project is a card!

the images from the Never Enough Books stamp set were stamped and colored in rainbows using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. then I die cut them out with the coordinating dies. I also added some details with the white gel pen.

I die cut out the I heart books phrase from the original Bookmark die set 6 times from black cardstock. then I glued them and stacked them all on top of each other. then I die cut out a panel of vellum with the Basic Frames Die Set.

I stamped all of the images in a very soft grey for the background and then splattered some of the same color on top!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #171 - Bingo

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

yay!    

Bingo is SUCH a fun challenge, and I had a blast choosing mine!
as you can see from the graphic, I used the second vertical column from the right: Scissors, Hot Foil, Marker, Ink Blending, Rainbow.

I just love these sweet bees! I used the images from Hive Five, Fairy Friends and You're a Keeper. I colored them all in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out!
I also added some details with a white gel pen.

for the background, I used the beautiful Woodgrain Background Hot Foil Plate and some gold foil! then I used Distress Inks to ink blend on top!
I wasn't done there, though! I also used the Honeycomb Stencil and some white embossing paste on top to add even more texture!

I popped up the bees and speech bubble with foam tape, and then heat embossed the sentiment in white and popped it up with foam tape, too!

happy friday!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook blog and it's fun and fresh and spring-y!

I love it!
I heat embossed the images in white using the Succulent Garden.
then I colored them all in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out!

I used white cardstock and die cut out the frame using the Frames & Tags Die Set. I used Distress Oxide Inks and ink blended with Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade for the frame and windows. I used Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles to ink blend the outside border. then I used the Hibiscus Stencil Set and the same colors, but with more pressure to add the tone-on-tone leaves!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock and then finished off the card by splattering white acrylic ink on top!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #170 - Patterned Paper

 

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

yay! 

 

birthday cards are so fun, and using patterned papers is the best way to add fun and cheer for a birthday card!

and **gasp** I didn't use any cute images on this card!
I used the Outside In Stitched Balloon Stackables along with patterned papers from Really Rainbow and Into the Woods. 

 

I then used some Distress Inks to add shading along each of the balloons as well as the edge of the card base. then I splattered some water and white acrylic ink on top of the papers, too!
I also used some Chunky Glitter to add to the shine of the balloons!

 

I used the sentiment from Party Animal and heat embossed it on vellum in white. and then die cut it out with the Fancy Wavy Banners.

give it a whirl...with bubbles!

today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog, and BONUS! I made a video to go along with it! you can check it out on my youtube, or here!

I couldn't resist trying out the new Give it a Whirl die set from Lawn Fawn!
I stamped and colored the cute little images from Bubbles of Joy, You're Just My Type, Virtual Friends Add-on and You Autumn Know with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut them out!
I added some details with a white gel pen, and then set them aside as I created the rest of the card.

I used some Fog Cardstock and the Brick Stencil to create the cardbase. I used White Embossing paste AND Fairy Dust Embossing Paste to add the texture and the background. I used Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed to add the rainbow look on the 'bubbles' that were die cut with the Give it a Whirl die set.

I heat embossed the sentiment on the small circle that whirls around! and then attached all of the images around the card and on the large circle of the die set with glue.

don't let the pigeon drive the bus!

today I'm popping up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog with a super cute and fun card for the current, Inspired By... Challenge!

so fun right!
I was inspired by the children's book series by Mo Willems: Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and The Duckling Gets a Cookie?!
both of these books are near and dear to my heart since when my little Menn were actually little (ha!) they LOOOOVED these books and always made us ALL crack up!
I started by stamping the images from the Rub-a-Dub-Dub, Car Critters, All the Speech Bubbles and Milk and Cookies with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut them out.

I transformed the larger duck image into the Piegeon as best I could! lol! I also used the Peekaboo Backdrop dies to create the sort of book/comic book grid that is used in the book. I popped up the frame with foam tape. I also popped up all of the images with foam tape, too.
I used Distress Oxide Inks in Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold and Tattered Rose to add ink blending all around.

the sentiments were stamped from All the Speech Bubbles in all of the tiny speech bubbles!
hopefully this card made you smile, and made you nostalgic, too!

rainy day wishes

hello and happy monday!
it's the first day of Spring Break for my (not-so) littles so we're all taking it easy while we rejoice in the long break from Biology! lol!! what a hard class!! lol!

and even better - I have this card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog today!

I just looooove these sweet images from the Newton's Rainy Day and Newton's Rain Boots stamps sets! I stamped and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut out MOST of the images! one of the extra little ducklings I added from the Newton's Rain Boots set needed to be fussy cut. I also added some details with a white gel pen

I used Distress Inks in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina on white cardstock. then I used the NEW Frames & Tags Die Set to die cut it out! I added a strip of foam tape to the borders. and the inside panels were inlaid! love the dimension.

in the background, I added some subtle tone-on-tone texture with white embossing paste and the Raindrops stencil. and then I heat embossed the sentiment in white!

love how sweet and adorable this card is with the bright, happy umbrella!
