i was so touched by the super sweet comments left by everyone during the lawnscaping blog hop this weekend! and after seeing everyone's amazing-fabulous-wonderful-inspiring-creative-beautiful cards, i was filled with inspiration, gratitude and creativity myself! so i whipped up these two similar and easy-to-make thank you cards!

i used hero arts stamps 'happy hello' and a die that i had from papertrey ink for the cut out of the card. i also wanted to use these cards for one of the current contests going on at hero arts for the month of september: creating a window card.

all i did was stamp the images onto monochromatic colors for the owls and fussy cut them out (i also stamped the owl onto the card itself, so when i popped up the fussy cut out owls, they have a bit of a shadow behind them! easy peasy.

then, to keep the cards light and bright and clean, i made some of my white felt flowers and added them to the card with a hint of ribbon and a matching button to complete the 'flowers'. :)

the cards were super simple and easy to make, but that was my goal. i wanted to be able to make a bunch of them, so i could always have access to a thank you card for someone special!

off the wall holiday

one of my most favorite color combinations ever is the focus for this week's challenge at off the wall craftiness: brown, cream and light blue.


love it!

i like to use all of those colors together anyway, so making my card was a snap! and it's a holiday card - so check one more off of the to-do list for this christmas! ha ha!



i love this card!! i used a big circle punch to create the flower petals (the same technique as i used on a tree card i made last week); first i punched a circle, then i punched that same circle twice to get the petals. then i arranged them into a flower and blinged out the center! instant flower! then i just popped up the flowers for some added dimension.



i used two different ribbons for the side and then i used my lawn fawn cozy christmas stamps for the sentiment (also popped up). i really like how this card looks old or vintage!

rawr and some hero arts fun too!

hey there! so, danielle (from girlracer scrap) and i were machines this 'world card day' weekend! we had so much fun and made so many cards!! so stay tuned all week for the posts! they're so all so cute! eek!

ok, the first card i made for hero arts! they had a little mini-challenge this weekend (in honor of world card making day, of course!) which was to create a card with hero arts elements, incorporating your favorite color! sounds easy to me! i'm trying to make all holiday theme-ed cards (when i can!) so that my christmas card list will be checked (done!!) in time! ha ha! we'll see... :)

so my favorite color is turqouise-y/light blue/teal-y (i think that's a crayola name...lol!) and i LOVE LOVE LOVE kraft paper at the moment, so i had to pair the two together! i was going for a windy/snowy look with the snowflakes! i stamped some of them and heat embossed some - um, danielle taught me how to heat emboss today...i'm just saying...i may never use another technique in my life! lol! ok, that's a bit of a stretch, but it's SO fun.

i popped up this little hero arts owl's sweater and the sentiment. i also distressed the sentiment with a white stamp pad. when i look at this card, i just want to snuggle under the covers on a cold day!

the next card is a quick one i whipped up for the my pink stamper challenge this weekend - creating a halloween-themed card.

i took a little t-rex i had cut with the cricut - and transformed him into a mummy! he wanted to trick or treat too! ha ha! i used a watermark stamp pad for the 'moon' and 'forest' behind the little guy.

i blinged the sentiment and popped it up, and vwa-la, instant halloween card!

another wee hero arts collaboration

well, it seems i've combined another challenge - and it's again, hero arts and wee memories! the challenge for this month on hero arts is anything fall related, and the channlege for this week's wee memories challenge is either clean and simple or tags! well, i was going to make a tag, but then this great idea popped into my head:

i have had the sentiment concocted in my head for a while, and i've just been waiting to use it! i just free hand cut the tree out and then i used my circle punch to make the leaves. first i punched out a circle. and then i put that same circle back in the punch to create the leaf shape - easy peasy! (and simple!)

i used glimmer mist on the background of the card - because i had to jazz it up somehow, even if it is barely noticeable! and then i used the same colors in the tree for the stamping and gradually darkened it, like fall leaves!

clean and simple. and fall! :)

a wee memories and hero arts challenge combo!

wow - i've just been one busy multi-tasker lately! here's another two-fer card! i made this card for the hero arts contest and the wee memories challenge #22! and...here's a secret: i'm loving this card!

ok, here's the skinny on this card. both challenges are autumn/fall themed! i love it already!! fall is by far my favorite season! i love pumpkin patches, apple picking, warm apple cider and donuts, cool weather...i could go on and on! *sigh*

the colors i chose for this card are very fall-themed: greens, brown and orange. i (finally!!) used the masking technique for the sun/moon (depending on what time of day you think it is!). i really liked how the white stamp ink made it look all misty and a just a touch spooky. i hand cut the 'hills', and i really like how the olive green and lime green patterned cardstocks almost don't go together. but i think they work! i popped up the top layer of hills to add dimension, as well as the sentiment - which i stamped using the hero arts individual letters clear acrylic stamps!

i have to admit, the pumpkins are my favorite part!! i made them using orange buttons, a tiny cut of very thin lime green ribbon (for the leaf), and an even tinier cut of twine for the pumpkin stems. cute! i also incorporated the twine by wrapping it around the card and under/over part of the sentiment.

i really hope you like this card as much i do! it just feels homey and welcoming to me, what do you think?
