hello!
I'm so excited to celebrate another year with the Sweet Treats Blog Hop!
Newton's Nook Designs 7th Annual Sweet Treats Blog Hop!
The Newton's Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats - just in time for Valentines day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!
yay!
now it's time to show you what I made - some sweet little pie treats!! ha!
I combined some Valentine's Day and love sets with a Thanksgiving stamp set - LOVE being able to combine and use sets that are usually for one 'season' for use in a completely different season! so fun!
I cut out some triangles from dark cranberry-like cardstock, red, pink and soft kraft! then I cut strips of a kraft cardstock and folded them over and over to create the ridges on the crust of the puppies! I used some Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend subtly on the edges (Worn Lipstick, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Spun Sugar). then I splattered the same colors on top for some texture!
I attached the 'crusts' with glue dots, and then stamped my pie images from the Newton's Thanksgiving stamp set! I colored them all in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out!
I also combined some phrases from Newton's Thanksgiving and Heartfelt Roses for the custom "Pie Love You" phrase! and used the Happy Valentines phrase from Love Bites! I heat embossed them in either white or black, and then die cut them out with the Banner Trio Die Set! I punched a hole in one end and then used some twine to attach the tags to the crust!
then I attached the kitty and various pie images to the tags and then used the Hershey Kisses as the 'whip cream' or 'ice-cream' on top of the pie! so sweet and cute, right?
