hey there all!
mother's day is coming up! and yes, i LOVE to make mother's day cards for grandmas and moms, but what about all the other 'moms' out there? like Godmothers or mother's to be?
so today, i a card to share that i created for that reason! it's a mother's day card for a mom to be! (either pregnant now, or adopting, etc!) this card has a very special recipient, for a very special occassion!
i used the sketch (um, incredible sketch!) from the poppy sketches challenge site! and fun bonus - it even has a color pallette! sweet! the work is basically done for you! ha ha!
so here's my card:
i used some older lawn fawn sets, as you know, lawn fawn never goes out of style!
the stork is from the incredibly adorable, plus one set! i lightly colored him in with very light greys, just so he would have SOME shading and color!
the house is from home sweet home, and both the house and the stork are popped up for dimension!
i used a strip of vellum on the side of the card, and also some vellum for the sentiment. woah - vellum overload!! i know - but i wanted to keep it as soft as i could! ha ha!
i stamped the sentiment from happy everything and then added some glittered up wood veneers to create the 'X', like x marks the spot, dude! bring the baby there! lol! :)
so that's my card! i think this sketch is just TOOOOO fun!
enjoy!

feeling stitchy with pinterest
hey there!
today i'm on the sweet stamp shop blog showing another card i found from pinterest that absolutly inspired me in every way!!
the card i found on the sweet stamp shop's pinterest page can be found here - and it's amazing!! warning - you're going to want to start crafting RIGHT after you see that card! lol!!
i made two cards, and i had a BLAST!
my first card is lots of layering, and stitching! LOVE stitching over those amazing alpha tabs! i think that's by far my favorite way to add FUNK and FUN to a card! lol!
i paper pieced the sweet little peas from yummy love and popped up the peas for some dimension! :)
i really love how it turned out!
my second card is super fun! i did a tad more layering, but first i splattered on some watercolor drops!
the vellum clouds are stitched on, as well as the sentiemnt! and i popped up the fox from foxy (love that woodgrain fox!)
so those are my cards!! if you're ever finding yourself in a crafty slump - check out the huge variety of cards on the sweet stamp shop's pinterest page! you won't go wanting! :)

newton's nook inky paws challenge reminder
good morning!
today i'm sharing another card i made for the current newton's nook inky paws challenge!
the colors are so spring-y and happy and fresh!! i LOVE it!
so here's my card!
fun, right? i LOVE it! :)
everything was colored with copics.
i used the balloons from the http://www.newtonsnookdesigns.com/winstons-birthday/winston's birthday stamp set and popped them all up after a lot of wink of stella glitter and glossy accents! :)
the little kitty image is from newton's antics and then i created the sentiment by combining words from the holiday wishes and newton's birthday bash!
lots of newton nook goodness on this card! :)
such a great little birthday card! i hope it makes the recipient smile! :)
so that's my take! what's your card look like? leave me a link below in the comments and i'll check it out! :) don't forget, you could win newton's nook goodies!

blue sky background!
happy cinco de mayo!!
what a great way to start the week - it's a FUN day and a new challenge over at the lawnscaping blog! :)
this time, the challenge is to create your own background with lawn fawn!
i accept this challenge! ha ha!
i used the clouds from the hello sunshine stamp set to create my own background. i stamped the clouds in distress inks (tumbled glass and peacock feathers) and then misted the card base with water! it looked really cool without the water spritzed background, and i wondered at first if i shouldn't add the water, but i added it anyway! lol! i mean, i used distress inks, after all! :)
the balloons are from the year four stamp set, LOVE that hippo there, but i stuck with just the balloons this time! all of the images were also colored with distress inks and then misted. i even added a tiny bit of shading to the images.
lastly, i just popped up the bird and balloons and added some glossy accents to make the balloons shine! :) the sentiment is from starry backdrops and i stamped it right onto a vellum banner! :)
ok, so now it's your turn! :) i really hope you join in on the fun with this challenge!!
for even more inspiration (if you can stand it!), check out the lawnscaping facebook page! they're dedicated to keeping your creative juices flowing! :)
what's the worst that could happen? you could win a gift certificate to simon says stamp! hello!!

i used a stencil and some distress ink to add the browns to the background. so FUN!
then i layered some paper from the uber trendy my minds eye 'mildred' collection under my photos! LOVE this paper - it has golds, aquas and pinks! swoon!
i used lots of FUN little triangles to draw the eye to my title - and those super cool stickers are from the heidi swapp favorite things puffy shape stickers pack! these are NEON people - and clearly, they work well with non-neon projects too! so it's really win-win! i have to get a second sheet of these!

Sweet Stamp Shop May Release #1
hello there, and good morning!
it's a beautiful day...because it's the 1st may release for the sweet stamp shop! the sets are JUST SO ADORABLE! i can't wait to show you!
first off, is the incredible adorable stinky skunk set...yeah...it's THAT cute!!
i just love the skunk image, and his bad boy persona!! lol!! i had a ton of fun making cards with this set!
my first card is a birthday card! LOVE it!!
i paper pieced and copic colored, and off set it all to the right of the card. the skunk and speech bubbles are all popped up for dimesnion and i LOVE the enamel dots as clouds! ha ha!
i really love coloring the skunk, he's the perfect size and i forsee this little guy on a TON of my cards in the future!
my 2nd card with this set is super easy and SO fun!
i used a premade transparency overlay (found here).
i paper pieced the little skunk and then taped him down to the card base. after that, i stamped a few flies (ha!) on the card base as well.
then i attached the overlay on to (with staples!) and stamped the sentiment on top of the overlay. lastly, i added a wooden heart for the skunk to hold! LOVE it!!
the next set i was lucky enough to work with is dad's tool box. and let me tell you...i could make 1000000 cards with this set! it's not just for dads! lol!
my first card was made for my husband...yeah, ha ha! i laughed when i thought of this idea!
i used some thickers to really NAIL (ha ha!) home the point of the nails!
the tools were all colored in with copics and some were popped up for dimension over some awesome woodgrain paper. (my husband loves making things in the garage!)
Then i made a card using some washi along the edge (i thought the measuring tape went perfectly!) and popped up the whole rest of the panel of the card.
again, all of the images were colored with copics, and then i used a craft knife to cut out the 'dad' to the card. i LOVE it, it really pops! :)
i love the speech bubble with the tools! dads really do fix everything, i think! :)
my last card is cool!! i cut the card base at an angle, so the woodgrain washi tape looked slated. so FUN!
then i made a check list with the feeling today stamp set, of all the FUN things this recipient can do on father's day!!
ha ha! i paper pieced all of the tools this time! and it was FUN!
so what's your favorite set from the release?! it's impossible to pick, i know!
good thing, there's a discount - just check out the sweet stamp shop blog and get all the details!!
