hey there!
today i'm on the sweet stamp shop blog! and i'm comparing different ways to use mists!
we all are familiar with spraying with a stencil/directly onto the card or splattering, but here are some other ways to use mists!
first i used the mist like paint and brushed it directly onto my background:
LOOOOVE this people! i am currently OD-ing on a few obsessions and gold is one of them!
all of the images in my cards are from the yummy love stamp set, and the custom sentiments were all created with the monogram alpha stamp set! don't those little pears look FUN against the gold! i think so!
then i sprayed the mist onto an embossing folder before i embossed my cardstock. THIS IS A WINNER people! i am really digging this look!!
and those little oranges?? i mirrored one of them so they could looking at each other! ha ha! i tell you, you can't go wrong pairing any color with grey! i LOVE grey right now!
lastly, i tinted some of my white embossing paste with a pink mist to create pink embossing paste! yay!! love this!!
i thought the banana images would look great against the pink! it totally reminds me of a strawberry banana smoothie! yum!
i hope this has inspired you to try out some new ways to use your mists! and if you have any other ideas - send them my way! ha ha! i love trying new things! :)
don't forget to check out the sweet stamp shop blog too!
enjoy!
today, i'm over on the sweet stamp shop blog!! go check it out! :)
and while you're at it - check out their design team search here!!
ok, so today, my cards all feature some sort of embossing!!
* heat embossing
* dry embossing
* embossing paste
so much fun!
what's your favorite type of embossing? i have to say...i'm sort of smitten with embossing paste right now! i can't help it! there are so many possibilities!! ha ha!!
here's my card using embossing paste:
love it!! that bright pink really POPS on the white-on-white background! the state image is from the across the miles stamp set (really really LOOOOVE that set!!).
and the sentiment was also heat embossed (double embossing point here! lol!) using the alpha tabs stamp set! (another FAVORITE!!).
the tabs were all popped up and added to the state image! with a little geo tag pointing to my state! lol!
my next card also using heat embossing - love it!!!
i heat embossed the images in clear onto some watercolor paper! then i colored it in roughly with some super fun distress marker colors! :)
i used the same colors for the popped up '500' (which is from the numbers - symbols stamp set!)
i looooove this card! that song totally gets stuck in my head all of the time!! ha ha!! perfect for a states image!
my last card is one that uses dry embossing!
i just looooooooooove woodgrains!! and i think it adds SO much texture!
i stamped the image over some fun patterned paper and then again in a bright pink. then i fussy cut out the state of the recipient and my state and drew on some faces, to add a bit of whimsy!! :)
the sentiment is from the newly released just the basics stamp set!
and those are my cards!
hope they inspired you! and if you so desire, i shared a coupon code over on the sweet stamp shop blog too!! :)
enjoy!
hey there!!
today i'm over on the sweet stamp shop blog again!
i have two different cards there! one with just copic coloring on the images, and one with copic coloring on patterned paper! hello!!
all of my cards use the SUPER fun 'press it, wash it' stamp set! LOOOOOOVE that set!!
my first card is just copic coloring!
i had SO much fun making this card!!
the silver specs, the thread and the puffs of dirt!! i was going for a really dirty floor! LOVE it! ha ha!!
some of the images are popped up, and i colored the wood veneer hearts with my wink of stella clear pen and the added glossy accents on top! LOVE that look!!
my next card is copic coloring over patterned paper...a new LOVE of mine! :)
i flicked some white mr heuy's onto the card base to mimic the first card, and then popped up a few images here as well!
i think the shading on the heart and broom are my favorite! it's so unexpected on patterned paper!
my last card just focuses on patterned paper!
the card base was amped up with some chevron embossing paste! love that stuff!
again, some of the images were popped up for dimension and some yarn was added behind the main images to mimic the first card - they're all a set, see? :)
so yeah, that's the deal!
i love these cards! and i hope they brought a smile to your face!
be sure to check the sweet stamp shop blog next week...there's a new release that will be happening, and it's awesome!
enjoy!
ha ha ha!!
this song has been stuck in my head since i started this blog post! ha!
today, i'm ver at the sweet stamp shop blog! and my focus of there is all about...you guessed it! GLITTER!
i'm looking at just 3 (out of a million!!) different ways to add glitter to your projects!! the sentiment is from the newly released elegant sentiments stamp set!
loose glitter:
LOVE this card!! i stamped the disco ball from happy hour onto some vellum and glittered it up too! the gold sequins just add to the 'boogie fever' that is this card!
heat glitter embossing powder:
that bow!! it took a long time of messing with it, but i finally got a good bow! lol!!
and the wink of stella pen:
i also stamped those champagne glasses on vellum (also from the happy hour stamp set) and 'clinked' them together!
what's your favorite way to add glitter? all three techniques have their good and bad qualities, but i think they all have their place in our world! ha!
check out the sweet stamp shop for more inspiration!!
enjoy!
hey there!
today i'm over on the sweet stamp shop blog!! i'm all over there talking about different ways to color images! what's your favorite way?
this time, i colored the same image (that cutie-pa-tootie washing mashine! from the newly release press it wash it stamp set!) with three different mediums! here's the result:
FUN, right?!
and here's my card that's over on the sweet stamp shop blog too!!
super fun!! i used a copic colored image and some looooooovely, dark, woodgrain paper! i stitched it on, and then added some wood veneers - that i of course had to add a little shine too!!
(thank you wink of stella glitter pen! ha!)
but guess what?! there's more! here's a BONUS card i made that totally compliments the first card! they could be set!
this time i used the distress marker colored image and some ligther woodgrain paper!
loooove this! i stitched on the woodgrain panel again, and popped up the washer!
then, i colored the wood veneers with some distress ink (vintage photo) and then *cough* added more wink of stella glitter to these as well *cough*.
so that's it!
now go on your merry way today, and read about some FUN coloring techniques on the sweetest blog around!!
enjoy!
