mother's day

i feel like flowers are to mother's day cards, like mustaches are to masculine cards. lol! i kept with that feeling with the card i created for the current 10 minute craft dash! the colors are absolutely perfect for flowers and mother's day cards. win-win!

so again, i came critically close to the time limit! and it was because i used some of my inktense pencils to watercolor in the images! first i stamped them and cit them out. then i watercolored the flower with pink and purple! i imagined a must more blended look when in my head. but time (and skill!) got away from me so it is what is! the leaves were colored with some green pencils.

the flower stamp is my cute stamps (ella's flowers) and the sentiment is lawn fawn's 'happy everything!'

i also blended the pink to the purple for the sentiment banner. stamped the sentiment on it, and then outlined the rectangle with a black marker. the awesome chevron/herringbone background is amy tan paper, and i LOOOOOVE the geometric background with large bold florals! this card here completely 100% inspired my card! i just LOVE it!

so that's it!
enjoy!

love you - in 10 minutes

i really think the 10 minute craft dash is a super fun change of pace for me! i usually spend way too long agonizing over the exact placement, or starting over, or restamping until i deam something perfect (read: passable) :)
so making a card in 10 minutes is definitely a challenge and i love the extra push! for this card, the colors couldn't be more lovely:

(possible fun fact: these were my wedding colors! how could i not play along, right?!)

so before i started the clock, i gathered my supplies and made sure everything i needed was within arms length! :)
i used lawn fawn's stamp sets - a birdie told me, quinn's abc's, gnome sweet gnome, and home sweet home.

the card is a 'square' with the corners rounded. the birds and word bubble were stamped and popped up! at the end i used some distress inks to 'vintage-ify' the card. in my head it was a better effect. next time i'll used a lighter ink. :)

as you can see, i cut it close - but i made it! :)

so that's that!

enjoy!

a little squeal

today i have a little card to share for the super fun (and intimidating - to me!) challenge, the 10 minute craft dash! whew! i'm used to having much more time! ha ha! but i was able to finish this card in 7  and half minutes! and you'll probably see why...ha!

i used that cute little hamster from paper smooches 'party posse' and the little heart is from 'boob tubes'. he's paper pieced and then popped up. and i also added a little glossy accents to the heart - for pizzazz. i drew the box around the card with a black pen and my stamp block! lol! it's...not exactly square...but i was under pressure! lol!

overall, it's just a tiny little card that can be sent for any number of occassions, so it's great to have on hand! and it was fun to make under a time crunch! :)
enjoy!

back again!

back again!
this time with a card i made for the runway inspired challenge,

the asymmetry challenge over at moxie fab world, and the 10 minute craft dash challenges!

the 10 minute challenge was hard for me, and i had been trying for a while now to make a card in the time limits, but failing! lol!! this time, i was successful though! :) and you can see why...it's pretty c-a-s.

i used this super fun itty bitty stamp from the unity stamp co! i added some pearls to the card too. you know me! i can't keep a card 100% masculine! and i sort of like the duality of the pearls and manliness of this card! :)

the main part of the card was then popped up and adhered to the base of the card.
crisp, clean, and fun! :)
hope it made you smirk! (i can just imagine that dude from the stamp winking and 'shooting' a pointer finger! :) ha ha!)

ps - my husband wanted me to share that he was the inspiration for this card...lol!!
enjoy!
