hello!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
the current challenge is all about celebrating Christmas in July, so that's the theme I embraced for this card!
so pretty, right?!
I had a blast making the background!
I started by masking off about 2/3 of the bottom of the card. and then I did ink blending with Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold. then I moved the mask to cover the top 3rd I had just ink blended.
I used Saltwater Taffy and Dried Marigold to ink blend the ocean. then I used Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the sandy shore. I splattered some white acrylic ink on top of the sand, along with the ink colors to give it a sandy, granulated look!
then I took a dry brush and some white paint and tapped it along where the sea meets the shore to create the sea spray! LOVE it!
I finished off the background by using the Beach Sunset Stencils. I just used the rippling water are and some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink to add the texture in the water! LOVE!!
I stamped and colored the images from Beachy Christmas and Christmas Fishes with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. and as always, I added some details with a white gel pen and then die cut them out with the coordinating dies!
I finished the card by heat embossing the sentiment directly onto the background!
be sure to check this card out on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog, and play along!
enjoy!
