a little happy birthday

today i broke out my denami design stamps for a theme challenge they're having this week: animals! and it just so happens that the only stamps i have from them are owls, so it works out perfectly!

i *almost* used colored pencils to color the owls, but then i went to my old standby, and paper-pieced instead. oh well! i like how bright and vibrant the patterned papers look against the black!

all of the owls and balloons are popped up for dimension, and there's even more popped-up-action because the base that the scene is on, is also popped up from the rest of the card. :)

i used my circle punch to create the balloons. the sentiment was stamped from the 'sentiment sampler' from paper smooches (another fabbie stamp company in my opinion!).

well that's it! i hope the card made you think cheery thoughts, if nothing else!
