lighting up your life

my lawn fawn order came! my lawn fawn order came!!

the first thing i did was ink up the gnome image (EEK!!!!!) and get ready for the most recent lawnscaping challenge! i think the sketch is adorable, and i wanted to used it as my inspiration!

i didn't use any of my new paper yet, but i will!

here's my card:

i paper pieced the gnome (love him!) and made the long grass image sparkly by rubbing my glue pen on it and the adding the glitter (side note: i wanted to use flock, but i couldn't find my flock!!!!!! i'm actually really disapointed, i think the flock would have looked a lot better. sigh).

i love that it looks like a balloon! that wasn't my intention, but it works for me!
the light bulb (glossy-ed up!) and the sentiment are from lawn fawn's 'how delightful' set.i have had my eye on it for a while, but just recently bought it with their latest release stuff! i heat embossed the sentiment.

i think this card is super cute! it makes me smile, and i can't wait to share it with a friend!

enjoy!

you're super fun-tasche-tic!

well i was able to make a few cards today, and it felt so good!!! :)

this particular card is pretty hilarious...for a few reasons...

first of all, let's start by saying i made this card for the latest sketch challenge going on at the craft's meow:

i flipped the sketch to the side and made this whimsy, colorful and punny card! :)

ironically, when i first started to make this card, i imagined it made with neutral colors for a dude...ha ha!! so how did i get here?! lol

i don't know, but once i saw that i was making a fun, happy card, i went all out!

the stamp set i used is 'fun{tasche}tic' and it really is!! i LOVE the mustaches!!! ha ha!! i fussy cut the image out, and glittered it!!! who glitters a mustache!?! this must be a first! :)

anyway, quick run down of what i did: circle nestabilities, pom-pon ribbon, dimension, roughed up edges of the sides of the card...FUN, EXCITING, BRIGHT, IN-YOU-FACE patterned paper from sassafrass! :) lol

well, i hope that made you smile or giggle, or shake your head in amusement! :)

enjoy!

well it's true!

this is the 2nd project i made while danielle visited me this weekend!!
it's card for the current challenge going on at young crafters unite - clear cards!!

at first i was like, what?! i can't do that! but then i did! and it was a blast!

i used some of danielle's stamps from market street stamps, and let me tell you...the images were soooooo cute!! but which one did i choose to work with?? the mosquito!!! lol! oh well, that set is definately on my wish list!!

here's my card:

i just love the sentiment! lol!!

i used my circle nestabilities and made a circle card with my acetate 'paper'. then i used the same nestability die to shape the 'sky' and 'grass'.

i just used a dot of my viva pen for the middle of the bow, and then i used some clear glossy effects for the mosquito's wings!

it was pretty quick, but i just love it!! i already want to make more to send to more people! lol!!

enjoy!

distressed spelled backwards is...

desserts-id! lol

ok, i'm feeling cheeky this morning! and it's because my best friend danielle came up here for the weekend to visit!!! saturday we shopped till we dropped (scrappy shopped that is)!! literally!!! ha ha! then yesterday we played with all of our goodies! it was such a great weekend! i think danielle is going to post about out trip the scrapbook store by my house on her blog when she gets home. it's a wonderful store!!

anyway, one of the things i made while she was here, was a layout for the latest challenge at
lawnscaping! it's all about distressing! so i did my best!

it's a winter layout featuring my littlest mann. i just love his raccoon hat, so i knew i had to use the racoon from 'critters in the forest!' i popped him up for some added fun.

i also masked the snowflakes from 'frosites' with 2 of my new hewies misters! that was fun!

my favorite part of this layout is the winter-ized word from 'quinn's abc's' and 'making frosty friends' - i used the mittens to make a heart! he he!

alright, that's that! i had a ball! i'll be later this week with the card i made yesterday, for another challenge.
happy monday!
enjoy!

texture-palooza

i wish i could explain the level of stress and amount of work i've recently been handed at my job...let's just say, it's quite high.

because of that, i haven't been crafty for a long time - too long! and when i did manage to eek out few minutes to myself to get crafty, i just wasn't feeling it (i'm still too stressed and consumed with work, to concentrate on important things like crafty time!).

this is unacceptable!! ha ha! so i MADE time for myself today! and i got crafty! yahoo!!

the picture inspiration at paper smooches sparks helped - um, it's simply lovely and wonderful!

i had this idea right away, it was just a matter of finding time (and the will power!!) to follow through!

see? lots and lots of texture! love it! i reused a portion of a cardboard box (love that look!), the sentiment is glossy accented, and then glittered! (hmm, guess i could have stickled, now that i think of it, to save time...but i didn't! lol! sigh, see how out of practice i am?!)

i paper-pieced the white accents onto the little monster (btw, one of my favorite images EVER! i think i've used that little guy 14592784620 times! ha!) from 'falling for you'. i also used some viva pen action for the puffy white dots. the sentiment and heart are images from 'word salad'. i just love paper smooches' sentiment stamp sets! (woah! holy accidental alliteration batman!)

ok, this post has gone wonky, i think i'm out of practice! lol!

enjoy!

my thoughts exactly

so i had this idea for a card for the latest challenge at lawnscaping! check out their inspiration photo:

i'm also entering this in the challenge at CAS-ual Friday and Simon Says Stamp! :)

i don't know how this idea came to be, maybe from little cupcake in the photo, or all the love, but the idea was born! and so i had to make it!

i think it's so cute! but honestly, i can't think of an occassion to give it to someone...any thoughts?! ha ha!!

i used lawn fawn's my silly valentine and love n breakfast to make this card (not to mention harold's abcs - i feel like any project i make uses that set!)

so that's it! happy valentine's day weekend!
(my work has been beyond insane and busy and overwhelming, but i hope hope hope it slows down soon enough for me to get more crafty!)
enjoy!

walking in a winter wonderland

i finally found a little bit of spare time to get crafty. so naturally, i had to make something for the latest challenge at lawnscaping; and it's a winter wonderland theme!

by the way, i just think that image for the challenge is too cute!!

i decided to make another layout, why not?!

this one if from when my big, little mann saw snow for the first time! he was only 5 months old, so he wasn't very impressed!

i used the lawn fawn stamps: frosties, making frosty friends and harold's abc's. :)

i punched some circles and hearts (welcome back small heart stamp, my old friend!). then i lined them up with the big snowflakes and sewed them on the layout.

after that, i used my versamark watermark stamp pad to add a few more snowflakes. i was going for subtle.

this layout actually has a lot of little touches.

the background of the cardstock. it's just plain kraft cardstock, but i glimmer-misted it like nobody's business. and it's subtly, sparkly! i like it! ps - it looks WAY better in person; it was hard for me to photograph. sigh.

i also added some teal distress ink to the edges of the layout.

today was actually chilly here (i'm finding out that SC is much warmer than i'm used to!), so i was inspired to make a snowy layout!

enjoy!
