sending hugs

quick post! i sort of disappeared for a bit...but, in all honesty, i was right here! ...and i was scrapping!!
yep, my bff's youngest daughter turned 1 recently, so i made a scrapbook of her first year! i literally used every spare minute i had to make sure i had it done in time for our family's vacation together! and guess what, in my rush, i completely forgot to take any pictures of it!! oh well! i'm glad it's done! :) it was fun, but whew...a lot of work! :)


so onto my card for the latest lawnscaping challenge! we literally just got back last night from vacation, and despite a few outbursts from tropical storm beryl, i was able to whip up this card for the challenge! i couldn't NOT participate! 

i dry embossed the clouds, and then heat embossed the sentiment. the pictures are terrible because i have no light! i'm sorry!! 

i wanted this card to be cheery, but also clean and simple. i love this 'on the mend' set, and i have more plans for it, a) when i learn to color (ha!) and b) when i have more time!

my grandpa has a cold he can't shake, and i wanted to make sure it also had a hint of masculinity - hence the argyle! :) lol hey, i can try.
so hopefully it makes him smile and kicks those germs right out of his body! :)

rainy words

the challenge at a blog named hero was difficult for me this time! lol! but i finally came up with a concept i liked, and i made it last night!
the challenge is called topsy turvy!

here's my take:

i used my versamark ink pad to stamp the sentiment like it was rain coming out of the clouds! fun! then i used a white ink to make the sentiment really pop. the 'rain' words didn't photograph as well as i wanted it too...it's much brighter  clearer in person! lol!

the stamps used are from hero arts CL270 - love those images!!
the clouds are popped up (dimension!!) and the sun is glossi-fied!


that's it! just another clean and simple card!

a toast post

it's been a few days...ok a week!!! since i've gotten crafty, i know! that's the worst! anyway, i finally dusted off my crafty pants and got to it early this morning - even before the little menn woke up!!


and of course, it was the current lawnscaping challenge that pulled me out of it! the challenge is clean and simple!

so here's my card! i LOVE it! 


the toasts want to play! hilarious (if i do say so myself!) :)
i wanted the base of the card to look like a table! :) ha ha!

the toast and the toaster are popped up, and i added some glossy accents to the toaster to make it dimension-y.

so that's it! pretty simple! :)

so here's my take! just a simple, underwater scene that i made to brighten a friends' day! :)

i was feeling in a summer-y mood when i made it (maybe it's because i was in florida!)! everything is fussy cut from lawn fawn's critters in the sea stamp set. i also used the chevron backgrounds for the summer-y yellow sky! :)


i just love that the little octopus looks like he's waving!

i made this card for the latest paper smooches sparks challenge! i was also able to make with my best friend via an impromptu trip to florida!! what fun!!

so here's my card (it's going to be a quick post!)

i just HAD to make a smiley face with breakfast foods for that yummy inspiration photo! everything was paper pieced and i had a ball making it! lol! i crack myself up!

i am totally in the crafy spirit! ...so why do work and responsibility have to get in the way?! ha ha!

anyway, i created this card for two challenges - lawn fawn's contest for operation write home (such a great organization!) and the runway inspired challenge site! this is my first time playing along with them, and i'm super excited! i used to play in a 'fantasty fashion league' with some friends, and it was hilarious and awesome! (it's like fantasy football, but with fashion and famous people! ha ha!)

anyway, here's the inspiration photo:

i'm in a grey kick, and i love all colors combined with grey, so bring it on! not to mention, this is all about chevron...so...yeah. :)

everything is paper-pieced or fussy cut. i made the stars glossy for added shine! and the fire man is popped up for dimension! :)

i used lawn fawn's cozy christmas, plus one and harold's abc's stamp sets. :)

little love birds

i hope everyone had a wonderful easter weekend! i did...even though i'm SUPER sick. yuck.

anyway, i wanted to share a card i made for the current challenge going on over at lawnscaping!! :) this was a hard week for me, coloring?! not my strong suit!! ha ha! there are so many AMAZINGLY talented crafters out there who can color, and i'm just not one of them! :) ha ha!!

anyway, i did try my hand at it and i made this card which i ADORE.

it's my lawn fawn take on birds on a wire! :) (i'm currently all about birds on a wire!)

i heat embossed the sentiment and glossy-ed up the heart, other than that, i just colored the birds (no, not with copics!) and used some of the lawn fawn twine to create the wire!

so that's it!
