hi there!
welcome to day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs' May release!
this release has totally got me giving alllll feelings of spring and happiness!
oh how I love all of these new stamps, stencils and dies!! just wait until you see it all! but in the mean time, check out what we're working with today: Monarchs Stamp Set + coordinating dies, Butterflies Stencil Set.
you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on May 22nd, right here!
I created a layout with this stamp set and stencil set! and it's just lovely!
I really love how this came out!
I stamped and heat embossed the butterflies in black onto vellum, then I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out!
then I used some paper that I had watercolored in rainbow to die cut out the butterflies too (no stamping on the watercolor!)
next, I sewed those 2 layers together!! LOVE that dimension!
I also used the Butterflies Stencil Set on my background! I used the bottom stencil with some white embossing paste over the black gesso on my layout!
then I used the top layer of the stencil with some DecoFoil Transfer Duo Gel and Black Flock! I LOOOOVE the dimension and texture that adds! The transfer duo gel lets you add foil or flock to your image without heat!! just pressure! perfect for layouts!
I splattered black and white all over the layout, too! it's a very messy, mixed media-y layout! lol!
lastly, I stamped some of the phrases onto strips of white cardstock, and attached them to my photo!
I used a bunch of my supplies minimally to accent: some wood veneers and old Thickers for the title!
it's the perfect layout to capture this (rare) moment of my little Menn showing each other love (and no wrestling!! ha!)
