hello and happy Monday!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog, and it's giving me summer rainforest vibes! lol!

so fun, right?!
I stamped and colored in the butterflies from the Monarchs stamp set. then I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.
I also die cut out some vellum and used my sewing machine to stitch the two together!

for the background, I used some dark blue cardstock. then I used the Transfer Duo gel and the Tropical Leaves stencil. once the gel was dry, I used flock in greens and teals to add texture and color! I love the bold jewel tones!

I die cut out the sentiment using the Essential Alphabet Die Set and then glued the butterflies to the background!

monochromatic christmas card

hi there!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
the current challenge is all about Monochromatic, and I chose greens this time!
and I LOOOOOOVE how it came out!

so fun, right?!
I used Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade for the background. On a piece of 80lb cardstock, I ink blended the Distress Inks all over. then I used the same colors, but added them in a watercolor style to add some texture and interest!

I used the Cilantro Cardstock to die cut out all of the leaves, using the Stitched Poinsettia dies! then I used the Pine Needles Distress Ink and added just a tiny bit of color to the edges of each leaf. I also die cut out a few leaves from vellum!
I placed them in a wreath shape, and then used my sewing machine to stitch them all in place! I even rolled up the edges to add some texture.

the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock from the Mice on Ice stamp set!

now it's time to show you what I made - kaleidoscope of butterflies!!

I googled what a group of butterflies is called, and one of the options is a kaleidoscope and I love that! so sweet!

these are actually pretty simple treats to create! I used some swirly twirly lollipops as the bodys. and I die cut out the wings with the Heart Frames Die Set! 

 
I used vellum, flocked paper for texture and the Springtime, Love & Meows, Love & Woofs and Love & Chocolate paper pads! I attached the smaller, scalloped wing to the larger stitched wing by sewing them together with my sewing machine!

I die cut out the tags with the Banner Trio Die Set from light pink paper. and heat embossed the phrase from Heartfelt Butterflies!

Newton's Nook Designs November Release - All Booked Up + coordinating Dies, Bookmark Die Set

so excited to share the new products on Day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs November release!

oh how I love all of these new stamps, dies and a brand new paper pad!! just wait until you see it all! I'm swooning!

for my first project, I'm sharing a sweet bookmark I made with both the new stamp set and the new die set!

I started by coloring all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. then I used the coordinating dies to die cut them all out!
I die cut out the bookmark itself using the new Coffee House Stories Paper Pad! love that sweet paw print design!

then I used the 'paws here' die and die cut it out of a speech bubble, that was die cut using the Speech Bubbles Die Set! it's inception level die cutting! lol! 

I just love this cute little puppy and his rainbow book stack! ha!

my second project is a layout featuring the dies from the Bookmark Die Set and the papers from the Coffee House Stories Paper Pad! and it features our sweet little kittens! love them!

I die cut out a lot of banners and then arranged them for the background of the layout! then I used the Meow Stencil and some white embossing paste to add some texture on and around a few of the banners!

 

 

I also used the pawprint die from the Bookmark Die set and ink blended with Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber! then I popped them up for some dimension!

 

 

my last project for today is a card using the adorable All Booked Up stamp set!

 

 

I just love how easy it was to combine these new images with the older Newton's Book Club!  and you know I couldn't resist another rainbow color scheme! lol!

then I used some of the sparkly, clear embossing paste for the background with the Starfield Stencil! love that subtle texture it adds! 

lastly, the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto some black cardstock that was die cut out with the Banner Trio Die Set. and the entire card front was placed over some of the new patterned paper!

Newton's Nook Desgins & Therm-o-Web Collaboraion 2021

This week Newton's Nook Designs and Therm O Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! my first card uses lots of die cutting, foil and flock!

I die cut out a bunch of leaves using the Beautiful Leaves Die Set and Flower Trio Die Set
then I used the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo and once it was dry, I added the greens and teals in flock and foil below, to add texture and shine!

for the sentiment, I heat embossed the phrase from Floral Roundabout Stamp Set

the background of the card is a light grey cardstock and I used some white embossing paste and the Hardwood Stencil to add a wood-y texture


for my second card, I made a slimline card with the Deco Foil Kraft Slimline Toner Card Fronts - Chic Chevron!

I used the Deco Foil Transfer Sheets - Rainbow and my laminator to make the pretty rainbow background!
then I die cut some puffy clouds using the Sky Scene Builder Die Set from white cardstock!
I die cut the whole panel using the Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set and then added some texture with white embossing paste and the Cascading Stars Stencil

then I heat embossed the sentiment from Floral Roundabout Stamp Set onto some vellum that was die cut using the Banner Trio Die Set

I also used some Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink to ink blend the edge of the card and then splattered some water and white acrylic ink on top!
I just love this sparkly, shiny rainbow card! I was totally channeling my Lisa Frank! ha!

Newton's Nook Designs Winter Release - Snowfall Roundabout

yay! we're off and running with day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs' October release!

 

and as you can tell, it's all about that winter wonderland! yay!

oh how I love all of these new stamps, stencils and dies!! just wait until you see it all! but in the mean time, check out what we're working with today: Snowfall Roundabout (which you can use with existing Circle Frames and Banner Trio Dies!!)

guys...I really thought outside the box on this card! ha!

I started by heat embossing the Beautiful Blizzard snowflakes in white onto some vellum and then die cutting them out! I also heat embossed the snowflakes from th new Snowfall Roundabout set in black and then used just the dies from Beautiful Blizzard to die cut those out! LOVE how they pop!

then I stitched them on with my sewing machine and puffed up the edges! SO FUN!

Oh, I also used some white embossing paste and the Snowfall stencil to add some texture to the background! 

I also heat embossed the image a few times onto white cardstock, then ink blended on top with Distress Inks in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio! then I die cut out the brrr letters using the Essential Alphabet Die Set!

I heat embossed the sentiment onto a banner from the Banner Trio Die Set - that I inkblended in the same colors!

then I added some Wilted Violet splatters...because it felt right - ha!

hi again!
I'm back on the Newton's Nook Designs blog, and today I'm sharing another scrapbook layout!

I love it!
I used the Cat-itude stamp set for my background! first I covered the white cardstock with gesso. once that was dry, I stamped the phrases over and over in various shades of Distress Oxides in blues. then I used some water to make the edges look watercolored! 

it's a super neat effect! you can still see text come through, but it's abstract! 
once that was dry, I used some white embossing paste and the Hardwood Stencil to add texture! 

I backed the photo with some white tissue paper, and a tag that I made with the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set!! 
then I used some old embellishments I have, and stitched together the title with my sewing machine! I also stitched the whole background to some black and whit patterned paper, too! I love that peaking out from the sides!

if i fits, i sits scrapbook layout

hello there!

today I'm sharing a scrapbook layout up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
we had to say goodbye to our furry family member last month, and it was HARD, but I'm dealing with it the only way I know how - scrapbooking!

so let's get back to the happy!

love this!!! 
I used some white gesso on a background of white cardstock, and once that was dry, I used some white embossing paste and the Meow Stencil to add some texture! once that was dry, I used some watercolors in pinks and yellows to add some bright, happy color to the background!

I used some white tissue paper, torn vellum and scraps of aqua patterned paper to layer behind the photo! I just LOVE the combination of the warm color and the aqua! 

I also used the adorable stamped images from Newton Loves Boxes and Newton's Antics in versafine onyx black ink to the background, too!! it was too perfect not to include them!

to add just a few pops of color, I cut some random pieces of the white card stocked, and had some black and white papers peeking through! and I stitched on the sentiment, and then used some more random stitching lines underneath and around the photo! 

hope that makes you smile, I know it's not a card, but I'll be back with more of those soon!! ha!

welcome little one!

hi again!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog - and we've got baby fever over there! ha!
the current challenge is all about babies and celebrating Kelly Marie's new bundle of joy!

for my card, I created this sweet line of laundry!

I used the images from Little Bundle and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! once everything was dry, I fussy cut them out! 
I just love those little birds, I colored them like robins!
I colored all of the clothing in a rainbow order - offffffffff course I did! ha!

when I 'strung the clothes on the line', I added some foam tape the bottom parts, so the top of the clothing was stitched on and flat, and the bottom is popped up! love that dimension! 

I used Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend the background in Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavendar. then I splattered some water on top! 
I colored all of the clouds from Starry Backdrops and glued them to create a 'sky'.
