if friends were noses...

so the saying, 'if friends were noses, i'd pick you' has been stuck in my head ever since i came up with the idea for this card in my head! :) luckily, i don't have a nose stamp, so apples it is! :)

i made this card for the latest challenge at the lawnscaping challenge: paper piecing! i love to paper piece! and not just because i don't have the knowledge or skills to color up these adorable images with copics! ha ha! on a side note: i am seriously jealous of you all out there that create these ridiculously adorable images with copics! i love the way it looks!
but as it is, i still do love the look of paper piecing! (lucky for me!) anyway, the winner gets to be a guest designer for the next challenge...could that be more exciting!!

i used three different lawn fawn stamp sets (again!) for this challenge, my sweet valentine, critters in the burbs and harolds abc's. :) i stamped the tree 'leaves' portion onto green felt, to give it some lushness-appeal! :) and then i stamped the apples and popped them up for some more dimension. i like the giant yellow circle as the sentiment, becuse it's like a warm and welcoming sun with a pleasant message! ha ha! that was my idea anyway! :)

i also made one of the apples into a girl, tee he! for the 'grass' i used some super fuzzy and funky ribbon that danielle at girlracer scrap had given me a while ago! i think it works perfectly for grass! i mean, come on, could this card get more textural! :)

i hope you find the card as happy and cheerful as i do!

monster smooches

there is a new company in the stamping world - paper smooches...and the stamps are just fantastic!!! they are a little quirky and a lot of fun! i love them!!

so, the latest challenge at wee memories is to create a card from your favorite 'source of inspiration'. what a great idea! i really get inspiration everywhere, but when i saw this card that jenny at wee memories made last week, i was really inspired, the card is so bright and cheerful and original! what's not to love! oh, and it also uses some paper smooches stamps, which i also happen to have. :)

here's jenny's card, and my source of inspiration:

and here's my card:

i made it while skype-scrapping with danielle at girlracer scrap! and despite the fact that i had already stamed, colored and cut out the little monsters, not to mention flocked the clouds, the card still took me over an hour to put together!! how did that happen? ha ha! i think it had to do with us just talking and catching up! yeah, let's go with that!

i paper pieced the little monsters with different patterened paper and then colored in the eyes and little tooth of the monsters with my white gel pen. danielle gave me a little scrap-assist and suggested that when i make the parachutes i can just cut a circle and then use a smaller circle punch to make the scalloped edges. genius!

i made the sentiment with some old rub-on letters and a single thicker, for the number 4! :) oh, and i also flocked the clouds (and popped them up). i love me some puffy, little, white clouds! :)

i really like all of the colors, i think it is bright and happy and fun! just like my inspiration card!
enjoy!

more than half full

i did it! i was actually able to get some craft-time in! ...granted it was at 9pm...but that's just details!! ha ha!

i made this card for two challenges the embellish magazine's latest challenge and the wee memories challenge (live, laugh and love)!

this idea hit me today while i started work, and i don't know how! honestly i was just half-heartedly (no pun intended) dooding on my work notebook, and then all of sudden, i had sketched this card! and i knew i just had to make it right away! between the colors at embellish magazine's challenge, and the theme at wee memories...well, it was really a no-brainer!

of course the stamp is lawn fawn (the cozy christmas stamp set) and i popped it up for some dimension! i used some rub-on's that i had and leftover pink stickers from an old scrapbook i made for a friend one time! i love using scraps!

it's really a simple card, but i think it's just great! i showed it to my husband, and he said, 'cute'. totally straight-faced. well, i can't win them all! :) ha ha!

have a good night!
enjoy!

a wee one's valentine's day

so, i meant to post this on valentine's day...but it slipped my mind! sorry! so this valentine's day post, is a little late! oops!

today's post isn't a card i made...not really anyway. it features the valentine's my wee little mann made for the people closest to him in his life! :) i pre cut everything out, but he did all the glueing, glittering, and stamping (he also picked out all the colors)! and let me just mention a little side note here...if you think scrapping is messing when you do...just imagine a 2 and 1/2 year old loose with all of the supplies! ha ha! end result: he had a blast! :)

here are some of his creations:

the inside of the card was stamped with lawn fawn's 'my silly valentine' stamps! i used a little heart brad in there too. then my little one 'signed his name' (read: scribbled all over the inside with a colored pencil). :)

the back of the card is a little gnome stamp that danielle at girlracer scrap gave me a while ago! (that little bugger has reminded me of gnomes since the day he was born, hence a garden gnome)! :)

anyway, that's that! maybe it put a little smile on your face! :)
(i hope to be back soon with an actual post from me...fingers crossed that little one lets me!)
enjoy!

baby socks

it feels like it has been so long since i was able to sit down and craft! i have been sooooo busy with work - i work in advertising, and as you can imagine the superbowl made my life all work all the time. blech. i'm so glad it's over! :)
anyway, though i had to work today, i had this idea rolling around in my head, so i just had to get it down on a card! :) it's for two challenges: lawnscaping (which is all about love) and wee memories (which is to use your scraps!), how fun!

so first of all, here's the card:

isn't it so cute?! well, only if you think little, tiny baby socks are just the cutest thing ever! ha ha! but, i do think it works as a congratulations card for someone you know who is having a baby. i used the 'stockings' from the cozy christmas stamps, the socks from the my silly valentine stamps, and the sentiment was made using harold's abc's! 3 lawn fawn stamp sets in one card!

i used some heavy duty twine and wooden clothes pins for the 'laundry line', so of course all of the socks are popped up - lots of dimension, happening here! :)

oh, and course, here's my scraps! i didn't use all of them on this card, but i knew i would use some of them!
anyway, that's my card! i hope i can get more crafting time in soon! i miss it! ha ha! :)
enjoy!
