made for each other

well shoot! i just made the title for this post "made for each other" and i'm thinking that should have been the sentiment on my card instead of what i used! nuts! ha ha! oh well!

moving on...

i just finished a card for the latest lawnscaping challenge - pick one of kelly marie's cards and CASE it! first of all, all of her cards are amazing and beautiful! so how do you improve on that?! i decided you can't, so instead i used her card as inspiration for mine. as soon as she posted this card a (month or so ago), i was instantly in love with it! so i knew i would use that card for my inspiration. here is the original lawn fawn card:

see? how can i compete with that?? ha ha!
here is what i decided to do:

it's a squre card with an off center-ed circle border in the middle. i used glitter-y yellow thickers for the sentiment - and i originally went with bff's because well, milk and cookies seem to always be together! (especially in this house. my husband is a stickler for having milk whenever he has cookies. he has even NOT eaten a cookie because we were out of milk. now, that's a little nuts and i even tease him about that. cookies are good by themselves too!!) but as i mentioned earlier, i think 'made for each other' would have worked even better! :)

back to the card. i popped up the milk and cookies stamp (which i also paper pieced); do i even have to say that they're lawn fawn? :) the circle border thing is also popped up. i used another stamp to make the background of the card. it says, 'friends are the chocolate chips in the cookies of life'.

so that's my card! :)
enjoy!

another squeaker

well, looks like i'm back to my old tricks - submitting a card just before the deadline closes! lol! oh well!

this card was made for the off the wall craftiness challenge - and i really do love the color combination this week! i have been planning on participating the whole week, but then i just was stumped with an idea! anyway, for some reason while i was at the park with my little mann, an idea hit me, so as soon as he was down for a nap, my creative juices were unleashed! lol!

here is the color inspiration:

and here is my card:

i thought about saying something like, 'birthday fishes' or something else cute-sy like that, but i since i made the fish from different sized hearts (and popped them up) i wanted to stick with a love theme. :) and the stamp is from lawn fawn (of course!).

i used my circle punch to make the offset scallops (i always love doing that), and used a shimmery blue every once in a while to make it super fab! :) ha ha!

enjoy!

a wee layout

i think valentine's day must be in there air...and i caught the bug! i made this layout and it couldn't be more lovey-dovey, ha ha! but, the challenge at wee memories this week is 'anything goes', so...lovey-dovey it is!

i decided to make a layout because i hadn't made one in a while, and i like to sprinkle in layouts every now and then, to change things up. :)

i used my cricut to cut out the squirrels (which are just too adorable if you ask me!) i used some old rub-ons for the sentiment (love rub-ons!), both were also popped up for some dimentions. and, of course some red-red ribbon on the bottom. :) gotta use some ribbon. ha ha!

oh, and an added bonus for me, i finished this with plenty of time to spare for the challenge! yes! :)
enjoy!

what a pear!

so, at the end of this month, one of my best friends will be married to her sweetie for 5 years! how amazing for them! in honor of that, i made this very special anniversary card! but before i go any further, can i just say, (and i know this is cliche) time goes by so fast!!! they have been through so much together (already!), i know this is just the tip of the iceberg for them!

anyway, i made this card for the latest color challenge at off the wall craftiness! the colors this week were purple, black and green! now you may or may not know...but the bain of crafting existence is the color purple. i'm not a fan. i appreciate it on other people's crafts, don't get me wrong!! i am just not inspired with the color. alas, it's the bestie's favorite color, so i work with what i have, right!

here's my card:

their wedding colors were purple and silver, so i wanted to incorporate that (with the diagonal stripes) for sure. the bottom layer of the card was my real jump starter for this card. it had purples and greens and i thought, 'yeah, i can work with that'. ha ha! i decided to layer two ribbons (the thick white and the thin green) to continue with a 'double theme'.

the stamps are lawn fawn of course! and i embossed the sentiment in black (i love embossing!) and paper pieced the pears! :)
so that's that! i'm actually quite proud of this 'purple' card! :)
enjoy!

a little smile

it's friday night! the weekend's almost here! maybe it's already here for most of you, but i work until 11:30pm, so i'm still counting the minutes until i'm free!

i have another last minute card for a challenge - i tell you, it's hard to get back into the swing of things, so my timing is a bit off! ha ha! anyway, this card is for the wee memories challenge, which was to 'design with twine'! awesome
so here's my card:

well, i didn't have any yellow and white twine, so i decided to make some! i twisted some yellow and white embroidery thread to make it look like twine! i used two different greens to make the 'rolling hills' and popped up the dark green for dimension! the bird stamp and 'smile' are stamps from lawn fawn, naturally. :) i paper-pieced the bird, the feather was calling for it! :)

well, there it is, just a simple little card to make you smile. :)
enjoy!

i'm back! ...with some lawn fawn of course!

i can't believe i was MIA in the blog world for so long! i haven't crafted in way too long! like everyone else, i've been so busy! first with the holidays - i was in florida for 3 weeks!, and then with getting back to a regular schedule. yikes!
but today i was able to, not only channel some very missed inspiration, but i was also able to execute it (in between my little one napping and some down time at work) - oh i can multitask like the best of them when i'm inspired! lol!
so what finally dislodged my massive craft-block? the newest challenge blog on the block of course: the lawnscaping challenge! love it!
so here it is, my first of many, many cards (and layouts, and projects, etc!) of 2011:

i used three different stamp sets for this (all from lawn fawn of course!):
my silly valentine
harold's abc's
frosties

i flocked the bunnie's tails, and popped them up for dimension (same for the heart, minus the flock!). i love the contrast in colors! :)

it's a very simple card, but hopefully it will keep my craft-mojo flowing! :) all of the cards entered so far are beyond awesome! what a great new challenge blog! :)

enjoy!
