my first card uses the new Diagonal Grid Stencil:

i love it!!
i used Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress Inks to create the background! i love that grid!!!

the succulents are from the Aloha Spirit stamp set! I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to watercolor them in! I even used a touch of purple! shhhh, don't tell anyone! ha! i used the Thanks Twice die for the sentiment! and (it's hard to tell, grrr) but lots of Spectrum Noir glitter on the 'thanks' word itself!

my second card used the Balloons in the Sky cling stamp set!

LOOOOOOVE that stamp!!! I decided to keep the background netural with some Pumice Stone Distress Ink around the edges so the sentiment from Make a Wish would stand out!

I colored directly onto the stamp with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and then stamped it on the paper! so fun and colorful!

my last card uses the Under the Sea and Woodgrain cling stamps!

I used the woodgrain in Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Ink for the tag from Lovely Tags die set! LOOOOOOVE that shape of the tag and the faux stitching around the edges!

those adorable sea creatures are from the Glowing Seaside stamp set! LOVE them! the background was created with Distress Inks and some watercoloring! I clear heat embossed the adorable little fish for a subtle bit of texture! and the Aqua Alphabet Stickers were stitching on with my sewing machine!

Inky Paws Challenge #35 - Burlap and Lace

hello and good morning!
today starts a new Inky Paws Challenge on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!
and it's a great one - burlap and lace!!

so unique! and it really pushed me! but i came up with a card i just LOVE!

i used the AMAZING butterfly set: Beautiful Wings, along with the coordinating dies - the dies really make it SO easy!!!
it just so happens that I had some burlap 'paper' lying around, so i cut it into a banner shape (and ran some glue along the edges to prevent any further fraying)!

the butterflies were heat embossed in white onto some vellum, which i really think just adds to the delicate feel of the card! then i used my sewing machine to stitch the butterflies onto the burlap!
i even added a white doily under the banner! LOVE this card! It's not my usual style, but I'm super in love!

so be sure to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge so you can have a chance to win some Newton's Nook stamps and dies!
enjoy!

poor little birdie!

ha ha!
hello there!

today i have a cute little card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog and it just makes me laugh! :)

isn't it great?! ha!
i colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and then fussy cut them out! that cute little kitty image and phrase is from the Newton's Birthday Flutter mini set! i LOVE it!!

i finished the sentiment off on the inside of the card, and even added a few balloons to tie in with the front of the card! :) ha ha ha!! "so i ate him" ha ha!! I can't stop laughing! :)

I used Cracked Pisatchio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks for the grass! the sunset-y sky was created with Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade Distress inks! once the blending was complete, i spritzed some water on top!
the sentiment was heat embossed on the black cardstock banner which was die cut with the Garden Whimsy dies
a few sequins finished off the card!

i colored all of the images on all of my cards with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! i fussy cut these guys out and then placed them under my rectangle focus point!
i had also stamped in a light, light, very light grey in a diagonal pattern on that rectangle. the final phrase was stamped in black on top of it all! love it!

my second card is interactive and uses the new Pug Life stamp set!

see? so fun right?
i LOVE that you can create you own custom pug with the different body positions and faces!! so cute!!

the background is just a little Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, which i blended and then splattered with some water!

my third card uses the super FUN Hello, Florida mini set!

it's AWESOME! i grew up in FL, and my parents still live there! we visit all the time, and i LOVE that state! so this stamp set was right up my alley!

i stamped the image in black onto my white card front and then fussy cut and glued the colored image on top! LOVE the bold colors against that graphic-y background! so fun!

my final card uses the swoon-worthy Whimsy Weekend stamp set!

seriously LOVE this set, guys!!! the 'weekend' phrase in immersed in the flowers has stolen my heart!! swoon!

i used the single flower and leaf images to create a heart shaped note card! i did some light, messy watercoloring, and then stitched on top of the card.i LOVE the clean and bold design of this card! after it was all colored, i splattered some white acrylic paint on top and just LOVE how it came out!

oh my goodness - this set is so sweet and so cute!!
i watercolored my images (again!!) with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (hey, practice makes perfect, right?! I'm practicing! lol!)

for my first card, i fussy cut out the images and popped them up onto a white cardstock base.

i added a black woodgrain washi tape strip, and a little bit of watercolored 'grass' underneath the image! ha! i LOVE that phrase from the stamp set - it's going to be getting a LOT of use! ha!

i also added some stitching to the top of my card front - it's hard to tell, because it's white on white, but i really like the detail it adds!

my second card is aso clean and simple, but it's so cute because of that hedgehog!! seriously - adorable, people!! ha!

i added some white on white texture to the card front with some embossing paste and a woodgrain stencil! love it! and that phrase people - I DIE!! ha!! so so so fun!!!!! it totally reminds me of this song, and it was in my head for DAYS! ha!! love!

the grass was created with an old punch and then I added color to the vellum grass with Distress Inks in Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio! i added a strip of yellow star washi, because I had colored the hearts in the cup yellow, but it was hard to see! and i really thought the pop of yellow worked here!

welcome to day 3 of the Newton's Nook Designs August Release

today, the whole DT is showcasing the fun and totally awesome Newton Dreams of New York Stamp and Coordinating Die set!
you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on August 19th, right here!

eeee - isn't this set adorable!!
i've never been to NY city, but fun fact: i was born in NY! we moved to FL when i was about 3 months old, so that's as far as the NY stream flows, but hey! it happened! ha!

anyway, i watercolored my images with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut them out!
my first card uses the suuuuuuuuper cute Newton dressed as the Statue of Liberty!! what a FUN image!!!

i used a star stencil, and some embossing paste to create the background. then i added a BUNCH of star die cuts that i watercolored!

i also splattered some gold color shine around, too! Love how this came out!

for my second card, i was going to create a shaker card, but then decided to just make it an open area with lots of dimension!

although, a shaker would have been cool too!
i created the background of the city area with swipes of Distress Paint! LOOOOOVE the colors!!!

I created a city scape and then added some sequins! love that cute Newton in the I heart NY shirt!! so classic NY tourist! Ha!

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Beautiful Leaves + Coordinating Dies

it's Tuesday, and that means it's day 2 of the Newton's Nook Designs August Release

today's release is going to a big favorite, i think!
today, the whole DT is showcasing the beautiful and versatile Beautiful Leaves Stamp and Coordinating Die set!
you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on August 19th, right here!

I just LOVE the style of this set, and I'm so happy to see it in the leaves!
my first project is a super pretty card!

i watercolored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and then heat embossed them in gold! yeahhhhhh - gold! so pretty! then i die cut out the flowers and heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock!

i colored the leaves with rainbow-like colors and then in the background of the card, i used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to add some soft blue! so pretty! Oh, and the leaves were all stitched on with my sewing machine!

for my second project, i made a scrapbook layout with those leaves!

so cool, right? i just stamped them in black ink and die cut them out! i made a scattered bed of leaves for my photo and title to rest on!
i knew these leaves would be perfect for this layout, because the leaves are so close to the design of my duvet cover! my littlest Mann and our fur baby Phoenix used to cuddle up in my bed after we came back from taking my oldest to school, in the winter! it was so sweet!

i used Distress Paints in Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio to create the background! once it was dry, i used a polka dotted stencil and some embossing paste for a little texture! then I did some embellishing, stitched the title on, and splattered with gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine! Love that gold!

I watercolored the images for both cards with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and then fussy cut them out!
that little bird was just TOO cute not to use, too!

my second card uses my favorite image from the set:

eeek! so cute, right? ha ha ha!!
i decided to create a night scene with some Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot! once it was dry, I splattered some white acrylic paint for the 'stars'.

those clouds are so sweet, and added the perfect touch to my scene!
