hello!
today I'm up on the Lawn Fawnatics blog again! I created another card for the Inspired By theme! definitely a favorite challenge of the year!
this time, I decided to create a Pocahontas inspired card!

can you tell I am a fan of disney cartoons? lol!
I used the little flute playing raccoon from Critter Concert and the Holiday Party Animal images for Meeko, and the hummingbird (Flit!) is from Gleeful Gardens.
Pocahontas herself, is from Mermaid for You, and the 'canoe' is actually the bathtub from Rub-a-dub-dub! the leaves are from You Autumn Know. all of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out.

I die cut out the card front the Peekaboo Backdrop, and used Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon. I popped up the frame a few times so it has some height.

the sentiment is from Believe in Yourself, and was heat embossed in white onto black cardstock, and then I used a scattering of leaves along all aspects of the card!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release - Fabulous Fungus + coordinating dies

hi again!
and just like that, we've made it to the last day of Newton's Nook Designs March release!

these mushrooms are SO fun, and I can't wait to use them more and more!

it's so simple but cute, right?
I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in rainbow colors, naturally! then I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! I also added some details with a white gel pen.

for the background of the card, I stamped all of the mushroom images multiple times in a light grey ink! then I splattered a little bit of the same ink color all over!

 

I heat embossed part of the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock, and then die cut out the rest of the sentiment with the Essential Alphabet Die Set! I backed the letters with paper from the new Spring Blooms paper pad.

Newton's Nook Designs March Release - Spring Blooms Oval

I love my card for today, because it's so pretty (to me!), but so easy to create multiple of, too!

it's so sweet and simple, right?
first, I stamped the image onto the card base, itself.
then I used some alcohol inks in pinks and yellows on acetate! that was so fun!
while it was drying, I die cut out the window on the card front with the Frames & Flags die set!

once the acetate was dry, I attached it to the back of the front panel. then I used foam tape to pop up the panel! it's hard to see in the photos, but the dimension of the acetate above the spring oval image is so cool and unexpected!

 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock, and then used the Oval Frames die set to die cut it out!

emperor's new groove!

hello and happy wednesday!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog and it's totally inspired by the funny, addictive and amazing Emperor's New Groove movie! ha!

so fun, right?!
once I had the idea to use the Flippy Flappy die set with the iconic phrase from the movie, I couldn't stop laughing and I couldn't stop it from showing up on the card! lol!

all of the images were stamped and then colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then fussy cut out!
I colored the 'poison' in the jar the same color as the movie, of course! the llama is clearly Kuzco, and the cute little kitten is Yzma! she looks adorable, but she's still slightly evil! lol!
I used Purrfectly Wicked, Llama Tell You and How You Bean? for the images.

I used the Brick Stencil and the new Distress Ink Oxide color Lost Shadow for the background of the card.
I heat embossed the sentiments in white with the Harold's ABC's stamp set! and the Flippy Flappy die finishes the joke! lol!

hopefully this card made you laugh and smile, like it did for me!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release - Newton’s Umbrella and Rainy Day Doxie + Coordinating Dies

my first card uses the adorable Newton's Umbrella stamp set!

it's so sweet and simple, right?
I colored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating die to die cut it out!

for the background, I used the Clouds stencil and the new Lost Shadow Distress Oxide ink for the cloudy sky! and I just love how the yellow pops from the umbrella! then I used white embossing paste and the Raindrops Stencil for more texture! 

 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock, and then cut it into the shape of a banner.

 

my second card uses the cute cute cute Rainy Day Doxie set, of course!

the image was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and I couldn't say no to a rainbow umbrella! and it really POPs against that light grey cardstock!

 

 

I used the new Spring Line stencil and some white embossing paste on the background to create the texture of grass for the pup!  once it was dry, I splattered some white acrylic ink on top of the grey cardstock for the idea of rain!

the sentiment was heat embossed on black cardstock and then die cut out with the Speech Bubbles Die Set.

Newton's Nook Designs March Release - Spring Haul + coordinating Dies, Spring Garden Line Stencil, Quatrefoil Stencil, Spring Blooms Paper Pad

my first card uses the sweet, and very Spring themed, Spring Haul stamps and dies!

I love this cute little cute truck with the fresh flowers! it makes me think that it's on the way to a farmers market!
I colored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut it out!

I used a circle from the Circle Frames Die set and die cut out some vellum to go behind the image. and for the background, I used the flower images from Tulips, Daffodils and Dainty Daisies - the beautiful larger images of the flowers in the bed of the truck!

 

 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock, and then fie cut it out with the banner from the Frames & Flags Die set! the entire background of the card was also die cut with the large scalloped image from the same die set!

 

my second project of the day is a scrapbook layout featuring the new Quatrefoil Stencil and Spring Blooms paper pad!

I used the new stencil and some white embossing paste on the background of the white cardstock. once it was dry, I used lots of watercolors in rainbow on top! love how it makes the texture shine!

then I set it aside to dry, too. I used the Essential Alphabet Die Set to create most of the title on the layout, too! LOVE that cut out look! so fun, and different! especially with the bright watercolors in the background!

I used the Sky Scene Builder Die Set and die cut out some cloudy paper from the new paper pad. I popped up the clouds around the layout. and some of the paper was also used around the cut outs on the side of the layout!
