here for you always

hello!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

I created this card for my mom, who is dealing with the loss of her long-time, best friend. it's the least I can do, and I wish I could do so much more.
anyway, the card - I used Beautiful Wings for the butterflies!
I stamped them with Distress Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick, and then heat embossed over them with clear!

once they were dry, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and stitched them to my card with my sewing machine!

I used the Darling Hearts Die to cut out the heart, and the did some Distress Ink blending in Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon to back it!
the sentiment is from Newton's Support and was heat embossed onto a black banner.

under the sea - I'm so jelly!

hello!
today I have another card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
I created this card with the current challenge in mind - a summer mood board

LOVE how this came out!
I started with a piece of aqua cardstock, and did some Distress Ink blending on top in Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet!
then I sprinkled some water on top, and once it was all dry, I used a dry brush with watered down white acrylic paint, and painted some light rays shining down on the sea! so fun!

the sand was created by add Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks! I die cut them from the Stitched Hillside Borders
of course those cute cute images are from the So Jelly mini set! I colored in the images with Zig Clean color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out!
I also added some glitter with stickles, because...well I wanted to! ha!

hope you play along with the newest challenge!
enjoy!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #29 - Summer Mood Board

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

this time...we want to see you make something inspired by this amazing summer themed mood board!!

this was so fun for me! summer is the BEST thing to create projects for! ha!

i couldn't help but make a layout for this challenge - I'm sorry to all of you who are card fans!So fun! I love it!
I was inspired by those stripes, the colors and the water!

I used the Ocean Wave Border dies to create masks. I placed them on the white cardstock, and then used Distress Paints in Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch to add the paint!
once it was dry, I used the packaging techinique to fill in the color in the same, coordinating Distress Ink colors!
then I die cut out some white waves using the same dies, and added my journaling on top of those - which I also stitched on with my sewing machine!

I stamped and fussy cut out a few of the mer-menn from the Mermaid for You stamp set and used them as embellishments on my layout! I love the two hugging, like my little Menn! I added to the title (and for the date!) with Harold's ABCs and did heat embossing to add them to the layout!

I really can't WAIT for you to play along! you could win a $25 gift certificate to Lawn Fawn!!!!
enjoy!

I super LOVE newton, and these sets couldn't be any cuter!
my first card uses the Newton Loves Boxes set! (ha!!! hilarious!)

I colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out! ha - LOVE that tilted little newton butt box, ha!

I did some Distress Ink blending in the background in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers to complete the 'rainbow' of this card! then I stamped the building images from Newton Dreams of New York to create the illusion of a city behind them! the effect is lighter than I originally anticipated, since I used the same ink colors, but I still like the subtle effect!

my second card uses the new Newton's Donut set...WHICH I LOVE! lol!!

I used more Distress Ink Blending (this time in Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio) for the background, and then popped up that adorable image with foam tape!

as few squins finished off the card! and I heat embossed that FUN sentiment!

amazing, right?! literally something for everyone! literally amazing! i love it all! and the Aloha set...swoon!! LOVE! and whimsical Floral Crowns...it's another large stamp set and it's INCREDIBLE!

my first card uses one of the workout sets!

I combined it with the Sticky Sweets - Be Fit sticker sheet, what a perfect match!!!
the stickers were colored with Distress Markers, and then I attached them to the card with foam tape! STICKERS ARE THE BOMB! no fussy cutting people! ha!
I also used the smaller images from the stamp set to stamp along the side of the card! love this!

my second card uses the Aloha stamp set, because it's so freaking cute! ha!

all of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then fussy cut out!
I heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock that I turned into a banner! the background was created by ink blending Distress Inks and then splattering water and colored ink on top! I love that little surfing kitty!

my final project features 2 cards with the Floral Crown stamp set, and these cards are so sweet and lovely!

...if I do say so myself! ha!
again, I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and fussy cut them out. one of the cards uses the image cut with a white edge around everything, and the other image was cut against the black outline!
the soft kraft like paper has some white embossing paste stripes (made with a stencil) and drops of white acrylic ink! I heat embossed the sentiments from the Prince Charming stamp set in white onto vellum and attached it to the card!
to finish off the card, I used two different colors of the thin washi tape along the edges! sooooo sweet! love these cards!

CSI Challenge Case #254

hello!
I'm so excited to be a Guest Detective for the new CSI Challenge - Case #254!
below is the new case file to start off the month!

soooo happy and bright!

and I'll be sharing lots of Newton's Nook Designs goodies on my layout!

the evidence:

- color scheme
- gold
- layers of paper
- tissue paper

the testimony:

- I was completely inspired but the color scheme and those puffy flowers in the photo!
- text papers in my butterfly clusters!

I actually used the coordinating dies to Beautiful Wings to create the layered butterflies! I die cut the small and large butterfly many, many times with various pieces of pink and vellum cardstock!

then I found a patterned paper with little butterflies on it, and fussy cut them out and stitched them all together to get that ruffly, layered look!

I painted some areas with black gesso and then splattered black and gold all over the layout! I also used a puffy sticker and other embellishments to add the texture! behind the photo and embellishments I used the Bubbly Stencil and some white embossing paste, as well!

in this photo, you can just see how my littlest Mann looks up to his big brother SO MUCH! he follows him around everywhere he goes, and I hope he never stops looking up him! so sweet!

I sure hope you play along!

enjoy!
