Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #98- Spring Mood Board

 

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

yay!

oh yeah - mood boards are my jam!!
and for my card, I was inspired by the happy, spring-y grass photo in the bottom right and bright yellow of the daffodils in the top right!

oh my goodness, these ducks are just the cutest! I decided to go with a Father's Day-themed card!
I used the grass tuft images from Toadally Awesome and Swan Soiree. the ducks are from Rub-a-Dub-Dub and Easter Party! ha! I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then fussy cut them out!

I also used the Stitched Pond dies to add the...well...the pond! I used Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio! then I splattered some water on top.
then I used the Sandy Beach Accents dies to add some waves to the pond where the ducks are swimming!
for the grass, I used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Inks! I splattered some ink color on top, to add to the grass-like texture.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white and onto some Black Licorice Cardstock and popped it up with foam tape!

big father's day wishes!

hello again!
I'm back with a card that's up on the Newton's Nook blog! 
last week, I shared a Mother's Day card, so it's only fitting that this week, I share a Father's Day card! 

so cute!
I used the adorable Papa Bear stamp set! 
all of the imaged were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then once dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! so fun!

for the background, I did some ink blending with Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks! Once I did the base layer, I placed the Sunscape Stencil on top, and used the same colors, but with more pressure, to create the subtle rays in the background! love it!

next, I used the Cloudy Sky Stencil with some white embossing paste to add the clouds! I love the texture that it brings! 
Once everything was dry, I arranged my images and then heat embossed part of the sentiment onto a piece of vellum that I die cut with the Speech Bubbles die set! I never say no to a sentiment on vellum! lol!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #75 - Spectacular Skies!

happy Monday! 
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

yay!

this is one of my most favorite challenges!
I LOVE creating skies!

love it!
for this card, I used the new Dandy Day stamps and dies, and the Grassy Border Die Set!
all of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and I added just a tiny bit of glitter to the center of the dandelions! I popped up a few of the images with foam tape!

the grassy border was die cut from vellum, and I love that look! 
I used Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold for that bold, sunset-y look! 
and I heat embossed the sentiment on the top with white, and on the bottom with clear (over black ink!).

Create a Smile Stamps February 2020 Release!

hello!!!

I'm so excited to share some of the new February Create a Smile Stamps release with you!!
there are SO many stamps and stencils being released, and they're all so creative and FUN!

my first card uses the beautiful Magnolia stamp set!

swoon! love those images SO much! 
coloring flowers is NOT my strong suit, and I even went with soft colors - another thing outside of my comfort zone!! but I still like how this came out!
I colored all of the images with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out with a small white border!

for the background, I used a wide, dry paintbrush, and some black gesso! love the brushstrokes! 
also, all of the flowers were popped up with foam tape!
then I heat embossed the sentiment in white using the Just Saying Hello stamp set! 

my second card combined the new Pepperific stamp set and Look Here stencil!

so FUN!!!!
I decided to color the pepper like a yellow pepper, just for fun! and then I thought, well I might as well go all in and use some dark blue cardstock for the base! I love the combination of the complimentary colors here! it really helps the yellow pop!!

and speaking of the yellow, I accented some of the arrows that I used with the stencil and embossing paste, with some of the chevron shapes from the Sending Sunshine Enamel Stickers! such a fun little detail!

my last card was created with both the Quill & Ink stamp set and perfect Splotch Stencil!

looooooooooove!!!!
eeeeep! I used Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold to ink blend that splotch! then I colored the ink bottle in the same colors! 
I popped up the bottle and the quill with foam tape! 

I also splattered some water and ink color around the big stenciled area! and finished it off with some white gel pen accents to the images!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release-Newton's Birdhouse + coordinating Die, Mother's Day, Father's Day

wow!!
I can't believe it's already the last day of Newton's Nook Designs April release!

I am super in love with this release, it's FUN and happy and so exciting!
oh how I love all of these new stamps, stencils and dies!! just wait until you see it all! but in the mean time, check out what we're working with today: Newton's Birdhouse + coordinating Die, Mother's Day, Father's Day
you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on April 12th, right here! 

my first card uses the new Newton's Birdhouse set along with the new Speech Bubbles Die Set!!

this was so fun to make! 

I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the images, along with the coordinating dies to die cut it out! 

and the sentiment!! ha ha ha! still makes me laugh!

I also used the Bokeh Stencil to create the fun background, which I highlighted with sequins!

the Distress Ink colors I used are Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn!

it's hard to tell in the photos, but the sentiment was heat embossed in black onto a vellum speech bubble!

my 2nd and 3rd cards use the new Mother's Day and Father's Day mini sets!

love them!!

I used the new Hardwood Stencil for both backgrounds - I used it with white embossing paste for the Mother's Day card, and Vintage Photo Distress Ink with ink blending for the Father's Day card!

both cards have the sentiment heat embossed in black onto a strip of vellum! then I stamped, colored and fussy cut out the little images and glued them to the sentiment!

for the Mother's Day card, I combined it with the Bold Blooms Stencil and Seedless Perserves, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold Distress inks! then I used the Frames Squared Die Set to cut it out!

the Father's Day card uses the Plaid Stencil Set! and this time, I used Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn!

oh! and the vellum was attached with foam tape under the colored images, for both cards! I used the Frameworks Die Set to cut out the plain panel!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #30 - Guys Cards

yahooo! it's time for a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

this time it's time we're making cards for the guys in our lives!

and it's the perfect excuse to make those Father's Day cards!

eek! i just love it!!! ha ha ha!
my husband works at Boeing, and according to my little Menn he 'makes airplanes' ha ha! so this is just too perfect for him!
I used the adorable Plane and Simple set for the images on this card! I just LOVE adorable, smiling clouds! all of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out!

the sentiment is a combination of phrases from the Plane and Simple set, as well as the Dad + Me stamp set! 
oh, and I used Distress Oxide Inks in Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet and Milled Lavender for the background! 
my littlest little Mann picked orange for the plane, since that's his favorite color, and I think it contrasts nicely with the purple sky!

Papa Bear + coordinating Die - Papa Bear + coordinating Die

hi again!
we're smack in the middle of Newton's Nook Designs May release!

and oh my gosh you guys...this release is so completely amazing! I'm in LOVE with each new set, and I can't wait for you all to see it, too! it's so spring, and new beginnings and FUN!
today we're starting the week off with the new Papa Bear + coordinating Die!

this set is SO PERFECT for Father's Day cards, and that's just what I made!

I colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out!

I LOVE these cute little wrestling bears!

I also used the Land Border Dies to help create the scene! the grass and sky were ink blended with Distress Inks and then splattered with water and color! 

and the sentiment was heat embossed onto a strip of black cardstock, that I trimmed to look like a banner!

the fun thing is...I put those guys on an action wobbler!!!! ha ha ha! love it!

for my second card, I combined the newly released Balloon Shaker Die, to add my sentiment! 

love the pop of rainbow!!! 

the images were again, colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then die cut out!
I tied the balloon with a string to the little bear's hand! so cute!

the background has a little bit of Peacock Feathers Distress Ink blending, and the Cloudy Sky Stencil with some white embossing paste! LOVE LOVE LOVE how this came out!
