hi hi hi!
so excited to be starting this week by kicking off day 1 of Newton's Nook Designs July release and 5 year celebration!
I say this every time...but guys, this release is FREAKING AMAZING!

and oh my gosh you guys...this release is so completely amazing! I'm in LOVE with each new set, and I can't wait for you all to see it, too! these sets are so FUN and perfect for those summer birthdays coming up!
today we're sharing the SUPER CUTE, INCREDIBLE AND FUN Narly Mermaids, Purr-maid Newton, and Mantatee-rific + coordinating dies and new Stencils!
you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on July 20th, right here!

my first card uses that sweet, curious, adorable little narwhal from Narly Mermaids!!!

I colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! that little narwhal really has my heart! I think he's the cutest!
I die cut some waves with the Sea Borders dies and then added color to the vellum with Distress Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon).

I heat embossed the sentiment onto a banner cut with the Flags and Frames die set and then splattered some white acrylic ink around the waves!

my second card uses the new Purr-maid Newton stamp set and it's SOOOO CUTE!

OMG, I love these little sea critters so much!
I popped them up over a sea of Distress Ink! lol!
I used Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers (my favorite color combinations!)

I think coloring mermaid tails is one of my favorite things ever, and so I had a TON OF FUN with newton as mermaids! ha!

my last card of the day uses the new Manatee-rific stamp set.

guys, mermaids are my JAM!!! i LOVE them! they're SO cute and so sweet!

I tinted some white embossing paste with Peacock Feathers and another bit with Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks, and then smoothed that onto my card front with the Waves Stencil!
Once it was dry, I ink blended around the same areas, and then splattered some white acrylic ink around! adorable!!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #33 - Fun Folds

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

this time...we want to see some folds on those cards! ha!

this challenge pushed me out of my comfort zone - I'm so intimidated by interactive cards, I don't know why! LOL
anyway, this card was made for my brother! we're twins and our birthday was this weekend! he's a huge gamer, and this was just PERFECT for him!

eek! I love it!

I stamped and colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, then fussy cut them out!
the images are all from Screen Time, LOVE that set!
to create my fold, I used the Lift the Flap dies and added to the scene with a 'secret life' ala Super Mario Brothers! ha!! that mushroom is from Gnome Sweet Gnome.

the background was ink blended with Distress Inks in Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold and Abandoned Coral!
then I splatter some water and ink to add to the beautiful background! ha!

I really can't WAIT for you to play along! you could win a $25 gift certificate to Lawn Fawn!!!!
enjoy!

Create a Smile Stamps July 2018 Release

hello!
so excited to share the July release from Create a Smile stamps!
I am just in LOVE with this astronaut set and I think you will be too!

so let's get to my cards!
first up my card with the To The Moon stamp set!

LOVE it!
I created the galaxy background with Distress Paints and white acrylic paint! then I colored in the astronaut with a rainbow of colors to match the stars/nebula/planets/glow from the background! so fun!

I added strings to all of the planets so it would like this astronaut was on his way to a party!! LOVE it!

my next card uses the doodly circles from Loops of Love to create flowers!

I did lots of watercoloring with Distress Oxide inks and splattered even more color on top!
once it was dry, I heat embossed the circles in white and fussy cut them out!

I added twine to emulate the 'stems' of the flowers, and attached them to my card! the background was created with a light grey embossing paste and the Petals stencil! then I finished off the card with that darling sentiment from Happy to Call you my Friend!

and my last card uses the Scene Builders stamp set to create this happy, birthday themed card!

hello rainbow! ha!
I ink blended my distress inks and then sprinkled water on top!

I popped up the hot air balloon for dimension, and finished the card off with sequins!

be sure to check out the rest of the DT girls' cards...THEY ARE AMAZING!
then grab your set on the Create a Smile Stamps site!
enjoy!

welcome baby - onesies on a clothesline!

hello again!
today I have this cute, fun baby card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog! :)

LOVE it!
It's so bright and happy!
I used some light grey ink and tinted my white embossing paste! once the color was mixed, I used a palette knife to spread it through the Cloudy Sky Stencil! then I set the card front aside to dry.

the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers then die cut out with the Stitched Onesie die!
I just love the little images on this Loveable Laundry set! each onesie is sooooo cute and adorable! (you KNOW I had to color one a rainbow...duh! ha!)

once the background was dry, I cut a super thin strip of brown cardstock and attached them to the top of the onesies like clothespins! then I used my sewing machine to stitch them onto the 'line'! ha!
hope this made you smile!

be sure to check out the card on the Newton's Nook Designs blog for more information!
enjoy!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #32 - Color Inspiration

yahooo! it's time for a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

and this time...it's about to get summer up in here!

oh the SUMMER-ness of it all! I could look at this picture ALL DAY! the ocean is my spirit animal!
any who...

here's my card:

looooove it!
I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color in the scene here!
I just swooshed around some oranges and yellows to make the summer sky...then splattered on the same colors (and white!) once it was dry.
I did the same thing for the waves, but with greens, teals and blues! then I die cut them out with the Stitched Wave Border dies! loooooove the shapes of those waves! (I also stuck a vellum wave in there...because...vellum!

I colored in the shark images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out! the sentiment is a combination of the Duh-Nuh and Manatee-rific stamp sets! both the large shark and the sentiment strip were popped up with foam tape!

oh, i really can't WAIT for you to play along! you could win a $25 gift certificate to Lawn Fawn!!!!
