today is kicking off the Newton's Nook Designs April release!!
I am not kidding when I tell you that i'm in LOVE with this month's release! every item is adorable, and so unique!!
today the whole team is showing off the Beautiful Plumage + coordinating Die! the new die set is SOOOOOO cool!! when i saw the peacocks i couldn't stop smiling!! I LOOOOOVE this new addition to the 'quilling' theme of sets!
you can totally use these to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on April 14th, right here!
i seriously LOVE these peacock images!! and my first card uses watercolors!
after i stamped the image in black ink, i used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to add the color. and then with a super wet paintbrush, i pulled the colors down and out to the bottom right corner of the card!
afterwards, i sprinkled it with some white acrylic paint and added lots of coordinating enamel dots in various sizes. i also stitched with my sewing machine along the top of the card!
for my 2nd card, I went with some cool colors in a less messy way!
it's hard to see, but i used a circle stencil and some embossing paste to add some texture behind the peacock. then i die cut the side of the card with the Land Borders Die set! love that is shows a little peek of the stamped plumage on the side!! soooo pretty!
I added some sparkling clear sequins to the card and then heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock! SO MUCH FUN!
