Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Fanciful Florals

We're smack in the middle of the April RELEASE week for Newton's Nook Designs! i just LOVE release weeks!

today, the whole DT is showcasing the new, all gorgeous, all LOVELY Fanciful Florals stamp set!! don't you just LOVE this set? it's sooooo cute! i can't wait to play and play and play with these solid floral images! you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on April 17th, right here!

for my first card, i wanted to try something a little bit different!

on some patterend paper, i added some watercolor affects with Abandoned Coral and Mustard Seed. LOVE when those two colors blend! once it was dry, i heat embossed the floral images in clear and then fussy cut them out!

to make the lines show a little for each flower, i rubbed some white ink over my images and really worked the ink into the non-embossed parts! the effect is subtle, but SO pretty! really, i wish you could see it in real life!

i finished the card off by stitching the flowers and some vellum onto my card and popped it up over some wonky washi!

my second card is also really fun!

i used the hello sentiment and created my own text background! FUN!

then on some white cardstock, i heat embossed the flowers with yellow and pink embossing powder! i just love how the colored 'blend' in a way! it's not perfect, but it's FUN! the pops of color of the grey make me happy! :)
