this week (all week long!) is a newton's nook release and celebration!
today is the first day of the release!
and this mini set is sooooo adorable!! eek!
alright, so on to the cards! because, YES, i made two! these sets are too amazing! i could have made 100 of each! lol!
for my first card, i thought that mouse from the set should be the star of the show! so i made the card all about him, and his cheese-filled wishes! ha ha! the cheese is from the very FIRST release (one year ago!!!) and the stamp set is called just say cheese! SO FUN!
i colored the mouse with copics, but for all of the cheese images i used distress paints and then a tiny bit of shading with copics! the speech bubble is popped up for dimension, as is the front white panel!
i really like the white serquins because it adds some subtle fun, and dreaminess, without distracting from the mouse and his dreams! lol!
for my next card, i went beachy, fun and (slightly) whimsical! :)
i used some embossing paste and a tim holtz stencil to create the sunrays. once it was dry, i put the stencil back on and sprayed with some heidi shine mustard mists! pretty!
the sentiment was stamped in the speech bubble and popped up, along with some fussy cut clouds from the spring showers stamp set! (my fav!) i just think this card is so relazxing to look at! lol!
