today I have a fun 4th of July themed card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

so fun!
I stamped the images from the Newton's 4th of July stamp set and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once the images were dry, I used a white gel pen to add some details to the images. then I used the coordinating dies cuts to die cut them out.

for the background, I used Black Soot, Uncharted Mariner and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks to ink blend about 3/4 of the card.
then I used some white embossing paste, with a swipe of glitter on top with the Fireworks Stencil to add texture and festivity to the background!

I finished the card by heat embossing the sentiment in white onto black cardstock. then I die cut the sentiment out with the banner from A7 Frames & Banners Die set.

Newton's Nook Mini Seaside Release - Newton’s Sand Dollar Stamp Set and Seaside Paper

all of these new products are so fun!
and sooooo versatile!

my first card uses the new Seaside Paper pad as well as the new Newton's Sand Dollar Stamp set for the sentiment!

I used the awesome Lattice Die set and die cut out the paper. I used the inside squares and popped them up with foam tape over the fish paper.
I used the Circle Frames to die cut out the anchor paper.

 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto vellum and then used the Banner Trio Die Set to die cut it out. 

 

then I finished out the card by adding a scattering of sequins. 

 

my second card also uses the Seaside Paper and the shell images from the Newton's Sand Dollar set! 

 

I used the Lattice Die frame from my first card and placed it over some vellum. which was then placed on top of the navy waves paper. 

SO fun!!!!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some teal paper and then die cut it with the Banner Trio Die set.

then I splattered some white acrylic ink and white enamel dots around the seashell images. LOVE how this card came out!

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavendar for the background. then I used the same colors but with the Sunscape Stencil and some glitter paste to add

for the beach part, I used Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. then I splattered some of the ink and white acrylic ink on top to add a sandy texture.
I also added some purple sequins

I finished the card off with the sentiment that was heat embossed in white onto black cardstock.

today I'm feeling the summer vibes!
and I have this card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

so tropical, right?
I stamped and colored the images from Aloha Newton using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once they were dry, I added some details with a white gel pen and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

I used the Hibiscus Stencil Set and lots of Distress Inks!
I used Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold for the flowers. then, without lifting up the stencil, I used my clear embossing ink pad and smooshed it over the stencil. then I added some clear embossing powder.

then I used the leaf part of the stencil set and Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. once the leaves were added, I used the same Distress Inks and ink blended over the images. the good part about adding the clear embossing to the flowers, is the green didn't muddy up the pink! I just wiped off the ink from the flowers with a cloth.

the sentiment was heat embossed onto black cardstock.

retro beachy vibes!

hello!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook blog and it's giving beachy and retro and sandy vibes!

love it!
I did lots of Distress Oxide Ink blending on this card!
the card base was a light kraft. then I used Picked Raspberry, Saltwater Taffy, Dried Marigold, Tattered Rose, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina for inside the circles of the Retro Sun & Palms Stencil Set.
then I used Black Soot for the birds flying in the distance.
I also used Vintage Photo and Antique Linen for the edges. I also splattered those same colors along the edges of the card - again, to mimic some sandy feel!

for the palm trees, I used white embossing paste as well as some sparkly paste! I LOVE the sparkle and the gritty texture it gives to the card. it perfectly compliments the sentiment!
I heat embossed the sentiment in black from the Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set onto some vellum that was die cut using the Banner Trio Die Set.

it took EVERYTHING in me not to make these colors super saturated and bright, like I usually do. but I really wanted to make this card with a retro and vintage vibe, so I kept the colors muted.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #198 - Up, Up and Away!

let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

I love pushing myself to use only dies!

what a fun twist for a challenge! LOVE this idea!

I started by stamping the images from Just Plane Awesome and Just Plane Awesome Sentiment Trails. so adorable!
once they were colored and all dry, I added some details with a white gel pen and then die cut them out with their coordinating dies.

for the background, I used Distress Inks to do ink blending.
I started by using Uncharted Mariner, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina. as well as Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the grass. then I used the Grassy Stencil with the same ink colors to add little bit more of a bold color palette as well as hard lines for the grass! then I used the Cloudy Stencil to do the same thing with the clouds. for the top of the card, I also used Black Soot to add a little darker element. then I splattered white acrylic ink on top of everything!

 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then popped it up with foam tape.
I love how bright and happy this card is!
