hello!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog!
and BONUS I made a video to go along with the card!

oh what fun!
as soon as I saw the Backyard Bird Feeder stamp set, I knew I wanted to make a card with a squirrel somehow reaching the seeds! lol!
I started by stamping the images from Backyard Bird Feeder, Backyard Bird Feeder Add-on and Let's Go Nuts! then I colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and die cut them out with the coordinating dies.
I also added some details with a white gel pen.

then I die cut out the Peekaboo Pop-Up pieces from white cardstock. I die cut one sheet using the Grassy Border and hill border from the set. then I did LOTS of fun ink blending!

I used Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles for the ground. and Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers for the sky.
next, I used the Clouds Background Stencils and white embossing paste for the background, too!

after I assembled the card, I replaced part of the pop-up mechanism with acetate so it would look like the squirrel was taking a running jump in the air!  so fun!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then die cut it using the Stitched Sentiment Banners and then attached it to the side panel.

hi and happy end of May!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
the current challenge is all about only using dies on your project, and I had a blast making this one!

hello mr rainbow! lol!
I die cut everything out of white cardstock.
then I used Distress Inks to add color to everything!

I made sure to use a darker shade of each color on each ray of the Rainbow dies.
then I splattered white acrylic ink on top of it! I also used the smile face from I Scream, You Scream to add a bit of whimsy!
I also used the Mr Sun dies and die cut from Black Licorice Cardstock to add the arms and legs!

the background was die cut with the Stitched Ripple Backdrop. then I used Distress Inks in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina.
the clouds were die cut with the Stitched Cloud Frames and then I added a tiny bit of ink blending with Lost Shadow Distress Ink. then I splattered some ink and white acrylic ink on the clouds, too.

I finished the card off by die cutting the sentiment with the Henry's ABCs dies! so fun and bright and happy!

roses are red...

hello!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog and it's sweet and pretty!

I started by stamping the images from the Roses stamp set 5 times. then I colored in the roses in various pinks and reds. once they were colored, I splattered some white acrylic ink on top.
then I used the Heartfelt Roses stamp set and stamped the image in black multiple times on a piece of white cardstock, very close together. I wanted it to look like it was one big image.
then I used the banner from the Basic Frames set to die cut it out.

I popped it up with foam tape and then placed the roses around it! LOVE the contrast of the bright colors and then black and white graphic look.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock and then die cut it out with the straight banner in the A7 Frames & Banners dies.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #197 - Dies Only

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

I love pushing myself to use only dies!

and you know me, I couldn't resist making my own little pun to go along with the dies! lol

so fun!
I die cut all of the images with white cardstock using the I Scream, You Scream dies. then I did alllll the ink blending! lol!
I used Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade for the scoops of sherbet. then I used Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the cones. I also backed the smiles and eyes with Black Licorice cardstock

for the background, I used Distress Inks to do ink blending. I started by ink blending the whole background in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio. then I used the same colors, but with more pressure through the Lots of Stars Background Stencils. I am a sucker for tone-on-tone ink blending! lol!

 

 

I die cut the sentiment with Black Licorice Cardstock using the Henry's ABCs dies.

it's happy meowr somewhere!

today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog and I had so much fun making this fun, summery and happy scene!

so cute, right?
I stamped the images from the Newton's Happy Meowr stamp set and then colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I also added some details with a white gel pen. I just love the little shell images that are sprinkled around the scene!

to create the beachy background, I stared by ink blending a piece of white cardstock. I used Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo for the back. then I splattered with the same inks, as well as some white acrylic ink to make it look sandy.
I used Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers for the ocean! then I use a large dry brush and some white gesso to add the beach spray! so fun!
and I couldn't resist adding some sequins to the beach spray too! so fun!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock and then fussy cut around it. I also popped it up with some foam tape!

Reveal Wheel Bird Feeder Card

hi there!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog!
it's so fun and uses the new Backyard Bird Feeder and Backyard Bird Feeder Add-on along with the Reveal Wheel dies!

I stamped and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
then I added some details with a white gel pen and used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. those birds are so cute and I love the feeder images!

next, I die cut out the reveal wheel parts and did lots of ink blending. I used Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Salvaged Patina, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the background. I also die cut out the frame from the Reveal Wheel Arc Frame Add On and ink blended that in Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch too.

I used the Reveal Wheel Templates: Essential Shapes to stamp and heat emboss the sentiments on the wheel. that makes things SO MUCH easier!
and I finished off the card by heat embossing the sentiment in white onto some Black Licorice Cardstock.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #196 - Inspired By...

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

the challenge this time is so easy, yet so FUN! you'll want to play along more than once!

oh my goodness!
this is the BEST challenge!
there are SOOOOO many talented, inspiring and amazing team members on the Lawn Fawn and Lawn Fawnatics Challenge teams and I'm always honored to be among them!

this time, I decided to create a card based on Chari Moss!

so fun!
she is SOOOO talented and I haven't made a card with cross-stitching and she is the QUEEN!! so that's what I decided to try!

I started by die cutting out the Embroidery Hoop and Embroidery Hoop Rainbow Add-on from white cardstock.
then I ink blended the hoop itself with Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber to give it a wood look.
then I used Pumice Stone to ink blend the pin!

for the rainbow, I used floss in dark purple, burgandy, pink, light pink and gold! I used the Chain Stitch that Chari showed in the Embrodery Hoop Intro Video.
I ink blended the background with Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold and Tattered Rose.
then I used the Stratus Cloud Background Stencils with gold embossing paste to add some fancy clouds to the background.

 

I heat embossed the sentiment from Rain or Shine Before 'n Afters in white onto vellum and then die cut it out with the Stitched Sentiment Banners.
